Getting Back to Normal

Looking forward to getting back to some semblance of normal... Yesterday was so not normal.

John's place is almost ready for him to just fly through it doing the last minute touch-ups. Nearly everything is packed and already here or wherever it is going. In the meantime, I feel so greedy...as if I've been to a flea market and bought way too much. A bean pot, pots and pans, casserole dishes, pie plates, linens, silverware, clocks, books, candles, etc., etc., etc.

John and I have a lot of fun even when working. Nice to know that one can work with her hubby and have a good time. He's easy to get along with, takes all my orders ;>, rarely complains, and can be talked into buying Italian sandwiches on the spur of the moment. He's full of quips that crack me up all day long and make the time fly. Sorry, schmoopy again.

My mother is having surgery this morning and I am her designated driver. Once I get home this afternoon, I'll be pouring some nice hot tea and getting caught up on your blogs for a change. It'll be soooo sweet and I am soooo looking forward to it. Catch you later...

  7. Glad that things are back to normal, Vee. John sounds a lot like my Vinny! He's not only my husband but also my best friend.

You found some nice things at the flea market!

Best wishes to your Mom -- I'll say a prayer her surgery goes smoothly and she recovers quickly.

  12. Before getting fully back to normal, have you seen this?!?!?!?!?

Pres. elect makes sick joke, at expense of Nancy Regan... a frail and ailing old white woman. :-(

    Classy, hu???????????? :-(

The link to the Press Conference is in the entry. I'd not post it, without a link.

  14. My mother is doing very well after vascular surgery on her leg. She was there for an extra hour because of minor complications, but she is feeling well today...a little tired, but that's to be expected. Thank you for your prayers.

  17. I'm just checking in...and see I've missed out on some very interesting 'dialog'. You are a brave woman, Vee...I like that that about you!

Glad you and John are having fun together. I couldn't imagine life without my best friend by my side! We are enjoying the sights, sounds and sunshine of CA together at the moment (oh yes...the tastes, as well!!!).

Great scripture! I knew that was in there but not sure where! Thanks!!

Love you little treasures, it's so fun to "escape" from everything in a "junk" place for a few minutes.

My prayers are with you and your mom!

  19. Absolutely yes, add me to your blog roll! I think we could be kindred spirits! LOVED your post on how the Lord has a hand in everything, in these politically charged times, that was such a good thing to see.

  21. Hi, Vee - I hope your mom heals quickly and is back in tip-top shape soon!

I guess it's been like Christmas going through all of John's stuff - no tellin' what you might find. Now, just to find a place for all those things and squeeze it all in with your things. Hmmm...

  22. Vee, I wrote a very long reply to one of your vote rants and then I couldn't post. My ignorance--nothing about your blog. It took me forever to figure out how to do the sign in on these blogger blogs. I got it now! I haven't had the best of luck blogging:(

I'm a Veteran and my husband is retired AF. We are conservative Christians and very much pro military. We know who the enemy is and where he is lurking. I voted McCain and Palin. I told people why on my blog. I am happy to see a person of color in the white house because that is a healing thing to the South...but I just didn't want this man. I lost 3/4 of my viewers over my admittance of voting for the Republicans. I even tried to explain the political differences between the two when challenged. I know politics really well because my husband is involved in it daily.

You are appreciated Vee! I agree to pray very hard. I hope you mom is going be OK.
