Back Yard Tour

Last evening was so lovely and warm that we opened the patio doors and just listened to the *peepers.* Then I decided to take you on the 90-second tour of the back yard. It's impressive. Okay, not so much.

Please note the far lawn in the first video all cleaned with the garbage removed. The poor new owner found five deer carcasses under the tarps at the edge there. Good heavens! The things some people do.

The forsythia behind the barn and a walk beneath the Eastern spruce. This is the path where the grands like to play.

The final circle back up the little knoll to the deck and a little pal waiting for me at the door.

Mr. Linky will be up tonight between 8 and 8:30 for this month's Note Card Party and will remain open throughout tomorrow.

Have a wonderful Tuesday...

  1. Now that was fun to see how things are looking in your backyard. You must be thrilled to have the neighbor's trash all cleaned up. Deer carcases??
Your yard looks like a lovely place for the grands to play. I like all of the nice, mature trees.
Your little pal waiting for you in the doorway is so darn cute.
I'm hoping to get my act together for the note card party, but I feel a bit behind since my blog break so time will tell.

  2. Oh my, was there an odor at any time with those carcasses? Why would someone do something like that! Great tour of your yard and she is a cutie sitting there waiting for your return. Thanks for sharing Vee!

Can't take your video walk-about, since I still haven't "Installed the plugin needed to display this content." -sigh- I am so unwilling to install anything, on my new computer. For fear of installing too much.<--Silly, I know. -sigh-

  8. You were very quiet on your walk and the neighborhood seems to be quite quiet, too. Is the background critter noise frogs or some insect?

  9. Peepers we call them...frogs I think.

  10. How fun! I love the quiet evening with the peepers peeping. Love the last one with your sweet pup waiting for you. Mine would not have been sitting so nicely. She is a jumping bean.

  11. I feel like I walked around your back yard with you last night...while the frogs sang their chorus. I was just about to step over that sill and come on in...and then I awoke from my dream. :)

  15. I was wondering who the little pal would be. What fun to have Molly appear! I felt that she was greeting me, too.

Thank you for sharing the sounds of spring peepers. We hear them much later here and never in such numbers as you hear. It's such a wonderful sound as you know that spring is really here.

The picture of your evening sky is gorgeous.

  16. Oh Vee, it's wonderful to hear the sounds of Spring. It was so hot yesterday here. I live in the town where the Boston marathon begins. It's was pretty hot for them to run the race.

See you later for your note card party.

    Have a lovely day.

  17. Oh I loved the tour of your backyard. A bit of your voice on the walk would have been little icing on the cake...next time..right?

I can well imagine how the grands must love to play there.

  18. You have so much property, Vee!

I haven't heard so many peepers sicne I was last in Florida! The first time we drove to Disney World in Orlando, Florida my children were 4 and 7. We stopped at a motel for the night half way down the coast. It had a ouside deck to sit on and my city born and raised children were amazed by both the stars they could see in the sky and the sound of the frogs peeping away in the distance! I'm sure it is a memory they still have.

I hope to join in your party but I am supervising the final clear out at my Mom's today. Hope I get time tonight...

I am so happy Vee, that your new neighbor is cleaning up that place! Maybe all that fixing up will spread from you and John and the new neighbor to others in your area!

  28. I am amazed at the difference in climates, I sometimes forget that we are not all in the same time zone or season. Wonderful tour. I am looking outside at what looks like a forest jungle watching a little gray squirrel and listening to the birds. When does spring actually come in your neck of the woods, I mean blooms and leaves and grass? Is your season a short one due to cooler climate? I so dream of one day visiting your wonderful state.

  29. I love these videos of your backyard and the wonderful sound of the spring peepers. I haven't heard them here yet and expect I will miss them while I'm away. Your card selection is beautiful and I do hope there won't be any white stuff on the forsythia this year. Have a great week Vee. Hugs, Pam
