Some Levity Please

Please excuse me if you already know what I'm chatting about today. I really did crawl out from under a rock last evening around 6:30 when I learned that M*arth* Stew*rt has two grandchildren. Perhaps I could be forgiven for not knowing about the second, his being an Irish twin and all, but the first? Did you know this?

And have you ever heard about Alice Bee and her wonderfully funny dad Dave Engledow? Just found them last night, too. In case you need a laugh as much as I do, check out the links. You can always learn more by Googling.

Apparently, Mommy is finishing up a military tour in Korea and Daddy and Alice Bee are on their own. Hahahahahaha... John and I spent a wonderful time going through the photos and laughing our fool heads off. We're quirky that way. Perhaps you are, too.

(Please do not pin these photos. Go directly to the source for any pinning or linking. Thanks!)

  1. Well I didn't even know MS even had one grandchild, so I was REALLY under a rock - well to be honest I am about most celebs - don't watch tv so don't really know what's going on, unless I care to go search for it on the pc.

As for this funny Daddy and his antics with that cherub of a daughter, how cute is that? Love his humor. Hope Mommy comes home to them soon, safe and sound.

Hugs to you - have busy weekend with guests so behind on posting and reading/commenting.

  2. I didn't know MS was a grandmother either but I'm sure she'll have her grands baking up a storm with her as soon as they can walk. :-)
As for the fellow above - hilarious and I'll check out the website.
Thanks for sharing Vee to keep the rest of us up on current events of the happy kind.

  4. Ha ha ha!!! That is so funny! Reminds me of my uncle who actually let us experiment with the vitamix without the top on. He let us put dish soap and water in it and see how far we could make suds go!!!!

  7. Oh and I'm sure that Alice Bee and Daddy are pretty cute.

But I guess I prefer my laughs, from all the Boys at "Duck Dynasty." They make me "happy, happy, happy"... To quote Father Figure Phil.

  8. Guess I've been under the same rock....didn't know this either. It sure made me smile though this morning, haha. Enjoy your week-end sweet Vee!

  9. I think I'm under a boulder as I didn't even know she had kids! Ha! Happy Summer to you Vee and John. I hope you enjoy the first long day of summer. Hugs. Pam

  10. I did know about the grandchildren Alexis (her daughter) adopted after years of fertility treatments...that she went on Oprah to say that mommy paid for. I love the Daddy and Alice Bee site; now that's something to be interested in and enjoyed, XOXO (I'm definitely quirky too, so you're in good company!)

  11. It's nice that you are up and ready to put a smile on my face. I have to admit that second photos really scares me seeing the little girls foot so close to the electric skillet. HELP!! Once a playground teacher that sees danger everywhere...always a playground teacher that sees danger everywhere. It's a blessing and a curse!

    1. This is a joke, Ellen. No child was hurt during the photo session. Dave says that he pokes fun at the father that he hopes never to be.

  15. I knew MS had children, but not grandchildren. Given her age it's not surprising. I'm glad she keeps them out of the limelight. I always feel sorry for celebrity children.

Never heard of Alice Bee. Hilarious photos.

    1. Well, photos of the children can be found online. I don't think that they are on every magazine cover, however.

  16. I haven't kept up with Martha in ages, but I do seem to recall that she had just become a grandmother. Didn't know there were two now.
These photos of Alice Bee and her Daddy are hilarious. That look on her little face in the first one is precious. Mommy must enjoy these tremendously.

  17. I think Martha's grands are shrouded in mystery. Her daughter, by her own admission, didn't even have a boyfriend, certainly no wedding (Martha not give her one and only a wedding? and she is in her 40's. I do believe they were delivered by surrogate, and could not hazard a guess as to who the father is. Maybe their friend Kevin Sharkey was the donor? LOL I have never seen photos of these kids. xo

  18. Hmmm....I'm thinking that man might have too much time on his hands? LOL But he is doing a good thing in providing the gift of laughter.

  19. Yes, I knew that Martha Stewart has two grandchildren. In a magazine somewhere I saw photos of her daughter's NY loft decorated for the children. Very, very spartan. And there was a big party that Martha had a local eatery for the children, and it was decorated with custom Steiff animals. Very, very posh.

I didn't know about the little girl and her dad combo. I can relate to them more than I ever will to MS!

  20. I looked over his various photos. His work is outstanding! Love the high contrast post-processing in addition to the funny set-ups. Pure genius!

  21. Hi Vee,
Funny post:) I know MS but not the details. Any ways, enjoyed the pictures of a funny, but very responsible dad:). Hope Alice's mother returns safe. Enjoyed your previous post as well:)

  22. Well, there's some news, I have not heard of Miss Alice Bee, nor did I know that the woman you speak of has two grandchildren. Will check out Alice. ~ Abby

  23. I didn't even know she had kids let alone grandkids. She's a tough broad. I'm not sure I'd like her in person.

  24. I knew about Martha's first but not the second. I did not know about Alice Bee and her daddy but I am going to check them out! Love the Father's Day breakfast in bed!

Thanks for the tip and the chuckle!

  26. I knew Martha had one grandchild....but I had heard her daughter wanted another child. Good for her! Being grandma will be great for Martha...I must be alone out here, but I like Martha....shhh, better not spread that around!

  27. I went to the MS show taping a few times and I have to say she was very sweet and gracious off camera...more so than many other TV hosts I was able to see live when I live din NYC. Why do people, especially women, judge a successful and talented woman like her so severely? I know she is a perfectionist, but so are a lot of bloggers who are popular. I believe her daughter Alexis has a female partner. I know they had an off beat cable show where they poked fun at her mother's perfectionism.

Alice B and her Dad look very amusing! I'm sure the brave military mother enjoys seeing these photos!

  28. Yes I knew about the grands. I used to scour everything Martha, not so much any more. I much prefer blogs written by real people and the real life experiences. I liked the older MS shows and mags - not too trendy and more of what I was looking for - down home old fashioned food, tips, gardening, etc.

    and a great Daddy!

  31. Love the photos! Now we know what happens when mom is out of town.

Happy summer to you and yours!

  32. Nope. I'm in the dark too. I did not know that Martha had two grandchildren. Nor have I ever heard of this stay-at-home dad...although if you and John thought he was hysterical, then I really should check him out. (That is, I'll check him out when I am using Henrietta Laptop and not slower-than-cold-molasses Henry Desktop.)

    Happy weekend...and happy summer!! =D
