From Bliss to This

 ~At The Lake~

~What do you Think of School?~

Just documenting here today. Wanted to record the boys' first day of school yesterday. Their mom also sent me some neat photos that she took of their vacation in New Brunswick, which ended Monday. I'm the one playing word games. I have no idea what that final photo represents. ☺

Apparently, the boys were thrilled to be back to school and both had very good first days. The only one not thrilled with it was little E here on the right who missed his big cousins fiercely.

(My hair? It is what it is...)

A happy day to you!

  1. They'll be excited when they get there and see all their friends. The school always signals the end of summer for me. I love the months of September and October. Thanks for sharing Vee. ~ Abby

  2. Haha, back to school! I bet their mom will love the sound of silence for a change! So the haircut was just so-so? I guess you don't get your hair cut very often. I get mine cut every 6-7 weeks and it's no big deal. Since it's a discount place, I don't even get the same stylist. Just a quick weedwack job and I'm out of there, LOL.

Glad you survived the hair cut. Wishing you a nice day.

  4. Boys being boys ... I love it.
So nice that the boys got to enjoy a fun time at the lake before school began.
That last photo will be one that is sure to bring a chuckle for years to come.

  8. So the lake is now open for adult swim?
(I like adult swim pool time, sometimes...)
I'll bet your hair style is fine. After I get a hair cut usually I am just am not thrilled with my face.

  9. Oh the joys of a summer holiday at a lake, or pond or the seashore. Then school starts. The cousins look adorable and I'm sure they were excited to get back to school and their friends. Except little E. Probably can't wait to turn 4 or 5 and join them. A new photo of your new do? I sometimes take a selfie after a haircut, if I like it, so she will do the same thing next time. Which is what I did last week. It works. :)

  10. That last picture is too cute! Kids are so expressive and cute when they do it. Can you imagine making those faces as adults...just not the same, is it?!

How great that you were sent the pictures of the boys enjoying their vacation. Thank you for sharing them. There is a problem, though, now I really want to visit New Brunswick. It's on my bucket list.

My hair is never like I want it until about 2 weeks after it's been cut. Unfortunately, this time it's been a month and it still isn't right. What did she do? I guess we should be thankful for health and that we have hair.

  11. Love that last photo!! Being a former Elementary Teacher I don't think I'll ever be excited about school starting before Labor Day or ending after June 15th! I did always love the excitement of new school year, though...

  12. Our grands go back to school next Tuesday, don't know what kind of faces they'll pull, but the majority being girls, I'm sure they'll be happy. The youngest gal just got braces on her teeth this week - the train tracks type, and low and behold they're pink and blue. Guess that works for an 8 year old!
I got my hair cut yesterday; same old, same old. Oh, maybe that's because I am getting old? LOL

  13. So cute. Do they really not like school? I can't believe school has started already...a week or so ago here. Where did the summer go?

  14. Ok. I'm caught up on the camera, the beautiful pictures of the flowers, the grands, the AAB, the visit from Judy. Phew! All wonderful news. And Lamb Chop. I love Lamb Chop. Chickie had/has a LC puppet and we used it a LOT. There are many expressions one can make with that puppet face!
No. I shan't take an autumn break!

  15. Summer is over! Can't wait for your AAB to be over!

We are home today and thankful for time with Tim's Mom. She is doing well, so we are so thankful for that too.

Your Grands are so cute and so is their little cousin!

  16. Cute picture!! : )
When I was a kid we always started back to school the day after Labor Day.

In some areas the kids went back to school a couple of weeks ago already.

  21. So what kind of a synopsis of your new hairdo is that? I wait for a full report. :)

So glad your grands are happy to be back in school...and had a good 1st day back. Mine start on Tuesday.

  23. Vee,

They are such little darlings! My how they grow so fast. My daughter in law asked my grandson what he thought he would like best about first grade and his response was, "Not having to see my sister all day." LOL, typical big brother response.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  24. They are precious! I actually loved the little face of your preschooler the best. I don't remember this actually, but we have old family photos of me the day that my sister (and brother, her twin) went off to their first day of school leaving me home alone for the first time. I was not a happy camper.

(And I wish you had rave reviews for your hair, but at least you don't have a horror story to tell. )

  25. BTW, that second shot would make a gorgeous note card.
    Just sayin'...

  26. Such precious and priceless photos, I don't blame them I would want to continue playing in the water too! So are we not going to see the new hairdo?
    Have a great day.

  28. The pictures of the boys on vacation are so perfect! But school is good too. All my grands are back now.....Summer is almost over. (Notice how I have to slip in that "almost"? I always have a problem admitting this!

  30. LOL...the last photo made me laugh! Boys will be boys!

This evening we took a hike up towards a foothill and felt a cool breeze that signaled fall will soon be here--I can't wait!
