A Haven for Vee

Go Mango!

After the grands have gone home with their dad, I sometimes find the sweetest treasures. This one, for example. I am impressed by the spelling and the subtle inquiry into Santa's health and that of his reindeer. The go mango had me stumped for a minute, but I figured it out.

Translation:

Dear Santa,

How have you been? How are your reindeer? Are they in good shape? Then go, man, go!

Ahhh, very good advice for us all at this point I'm thinking. Have a great weekend!

  3. Ha Ha Ha or should I say Ho Ho Ho? Oh, what a delightful little note to find after the grands had departed.
Leave it to grandma to figure out the message.
As I sit hear in my pj's waiting for the first cup of coffee to kick in, "go man, go" will be my mantra for the day.

  5. That is so sweet Vee...that is worthy of a frame to hang on the wall. I love the part about "are the reindeer in good shape"... cause you know if the reindeer aren't in good shape how in heaven's name will Santa get all the presents delivered... absolutely priceless. Made me smile. :))))))

  11. You missed your calling as an international translator. As a fairly new grandmother, I must learn this language. Speaking of mangos.....as a kid I never saw a mango. I haven't had too many of them, but love a good one when I get it. Remember when everything was so seasonal, and now we get most anything all year round. Nothing withheld from us. Just thought of that when I saw the picture and read what I thought was 'mango'. Yeah, my mind wanders.

  24. Vee,
I Hope to have another post before 2014. For the first time in my memory I am ready. So I have sat here in front of my tree with my music and an ambitious knitting project. I have ripped out the same section way too many times (operator error) but the tree is pretty and I am ready.
Merry Christmas. Hope the storm is not bad. We worry about the house in Harrison!

  32. Isn't it just grand being a grandparent. We get notes like that on occasion and we just crack up, tho it takes a bit to figure out what they are writing.

  33. OH VEE - that takes the Christmas Cake (sorry)!!!!!!
You must frame it or make a little book of those real treasures of life.
We can count on our grandchildren to amuse and enlighten us!

  38. What a sweet note! I bet you save and treasure each one! I can't wait for those days, but am treasuring each one now. My sweet grand will be 6 months old on January 3rd. I got to hold her all during church this morning, helping her play quietly on my lap with her crinkly book, then cuddling her as she napped. I just love it!

  39. So sweet when they leave something. After the Summer stay my Grands had both written their name on Alan's desk notepad. We have kept it there.
