Not Waterlogued

Now that is a real Monet mess. And if Debbie comes in here suggesting that Monet and mess mean the same thing... ☺ I did it by using the oil painting option in Photoscape. I don't think it has the same quality as the program we've been seeing in Blogdom.

I promised Penny that I'd let her know when the ivy rooted. I just noticed yesterday afternoon that it had done. That is a pretty quick result — four days to a week. Not bad!

Can you believe that next Tuesday is April Fool's Day? I can't. I do know this: March has been pretty much a joke. We are now learning that the monster storm will be passing out to sea, though it will nail those in Washington County (Downeast). Then, or so we're told, there will be a warming trend that cannot be stopped.

~~~
On his way home Sunday, two baguettes and a biscuit fell from a neighbor's tree and landed with a thud on the hood of John's truck. Short of our neighbor's tossing bread into his tree, we are not exactly sure how it got up there. (After thinking long and hard, John thinks it may have been a crow.) Though we, of course, have no intention of eating this bread, it has caused us to think about divine provision and, depending on the age of the baguettes, perhaps divine protection. ☺
That's it from here. What is the oddest thing that has happened to you lately?
P.S. Oops. Forgot to say that Shabby Blogs returned at some point yesterday. Thanks, Pat, for telling me! So I tested both the backgrounds at the PC and I think my friend was right. The notes are probably fine for autumn, but seemed a bit "heavy" after having enjoyed the lace for the day. On the other hand, the lace is not quite "it" either. I'll keep looking.
  1. Vee, that Photoscape app is really nice. You have a beautiful painting there. :) I don't have Photoscape and must look into it. Well, I had to laugh out loud about the 'bread from heaven' landing on your car. That is too funny! I guess if it was really stale it might have left a dent. Do you suppose crows stole it from the grocery store's dumpster? So strange. The only oddity here is that we're getting a huge storm in spring. But, then, it's not odd at all because it is arriving on a Wednesday as half of the storms have this past several months. Wednesday and Sunday are the storm days. Maybe that is odd after all. I'm glad you will be bypassed this time. Nova Scotia will bear the brunt and then Newfoundland. Have a great day!
  3. My husband washed dishes yesterday. That is unusual, and I'm not about to ask why. You're so funny!
  4. WOW...manna from heaven. That is a story. Your picture is beautiful.
  5. Now that IS odd! And hysterical! I'd love to have seen John's face when it happened!
    And your "Monet" is lovely!
  6. Hi Vee,
    This story made me laugh out loud -- wish I could spend a day or two at your home in the company of you and John. The funniest things happen to you. :-D March weather has indeed been a joke. It's dark and GLOOMY here in N.C., and I think it's started to rain. Yippee. They were actually calling for snow originally. I'm trying not to complain when I think of those poor people in Washington who were lost in the landslide this weekend. So sad.
    I will say, however, it really is hard to house break a puppy when it's always raining, sleeting, or snowing out. I think your picture is very pretty, Vee. Have a great day, and watch out for falling baguettes!
    Hugs,
    Denise at Forest Manor
    1. I hope I gave you a laugh! haha! And I think your watercolor is beautiful. I don't have Photoscape but really should download it. It's fun to play with photos when you're not collecting manna! lol Enjoy your day! Hugs to BOTH of you!
  8. Thanks for the Ivy update! That was really quick. I like the look of your photoscape oil. I have not had anything odd happen lately....Your bread happening was very strange!
    1. Yes, if you need a lot of ivy to green up the house or window boxes or planters, a small pot will go a long way.
  9. My goodness! Strange goings-on in the East! LOL
  10. I just noticed the storm swirling near you on my daily forecast. My goodness Vee, you deserve spring already.
    That is so funny about provisions coming down from the tree. I have nothing that can compare.
    I quite like your Monet!
  11. Sounds like manna from heaven, are you headed for the promised land by any chance? Rooting ivy sounds like a good idea, I just got a new plant and I am betting I could steal a few snips from it to make more. Thanks for the inspiration:>)
  12. Bread falling from the sky- now that's a puzzle! It's gotta mean good luck. Hmmm.
  13. Nothing terribly odd happening around here, but I'll keep my eyes open for baguettes from heaven. Clunk.
    I think your Monet-esque mess is quite pretty, especially with my glasses off, so the colors blend even more.
  14. Vee...I really like that effect too...I used it on my some of my note cards from last week. There are elements on Photoscape that they don't have on Picmonkey and visa versa. Your pic looks great! The story about the bread falling from the sky is funny but does make one think about the Lord's provision for us. I'm sure if I thought about it long enough, I could come up with a weird happening....but, hey....sometimes that is an everyday occurance...lol!
  15. …………..perhaps next time it will be 'fishes' and then I'd really start worrying what all that snow has done to you guys up North this long and tedious winter, LOL!
    Chin up - hopefully the storm will miss us too tonight.
  16. Bread literally falling from the sky?! Wow!
    I do like the oil paint look. It's so pretty. I love the ivy in your house! A bright spot in a dreary March!
  17. Now that is strange. Manna from heaven? I've been hearing about the East getting slammed again. I'm also hearing that this summer might be the hottest on record in England after all the rain and flooding they have had. My weird story...When I was in college I was driving on the freeway (before cell phones) and I saw a man push his woman passenger out of the car onto the freeway. I was so shocked but it was a part of town where I would never get off the freeway to call the police. I called the police when I got home...They hadn't heard of anything and said they'd check.
  18. I do like the oil paint look however, watercolor is a favorite of mine.
    Bread Bombs or Manna... I guess it is how you look at it. I would definitely watch out for those crows!
    ReplyDelete
  19. beautiful creation! Crows are amazing creatures, he will be back for his biscuit I am certain, I had an Osprey drop a fish from the sky in front of me one day, he came back to get it too!
  20. So ... bread falls from trees up where you live? Hmmm. We don't have any of those trees down here on the coast.
    Here's to dodging the Nor'Easter bullet.
  21. Now that is an odd story, Vee! I know Raven's are capable of carrying large objects....
    I think you're water colour turned out nicely. I've used Be Funky's app before and it's not
    the quality of those from the Ipads either.
  22. Thats a funny story about the "manna from heaven." I hope it doesn't get too warm too quickly for you, you might go into shock there!
    ReplyDelete
  23. Ahh! manna from heaven, what we usually get on our vehicles are bird droppings.
    loved what you did with Photoscape, I am at a dead end with editing my photos. I am glad you didn't get the heavy stuff and that the weather is warming,I say"it's about time", enjoy.
  24. Lets see, The most unusual thing that has happened to me lately was that we got some snow last night and the early morning sun melted it away and I didn't have to clean my car off.
  25. Oh goodness, I'm laughing about the bread. I agree, crows or squirrels - they like to store things in trees as I've seen some weird things in the backyard.
    A few summers ago something was growing in my hanging planter by the front door - your turn to laugh! It was half a scone (I throw stale ones out for the squirrels) and every time I watered the plant, this thing swelled up. Until I figured out what it was, I was afraid to touch the strange mass. LOL
  26. Raining manna from heaven? That is very unusual and I don't think I can top that. I could talk about the mysterious findings (or maybe I should say misplaced objects) in our house, but I'm sure the little four-legged furry ones have something to do with most of it.
  27. Do you suppose that crow will be hurling biscuits at the monster storm as it heads to sea?
    Oh gosh, you had me cracking up while reading this scenario.
    Something odd happened here today as a matter of fact. The details are in my latest post.
    I think your "Monet" is very pretty and the frame is a nice touch
  28. Vee,
    You have me....Laughing. Out Loud. The bread story is the kind of thing that just tickles me. Once again, thanks to you and John (the man who has become all that God hath promised) I shall be chuckling all day long.
    Thanks!
  29. Oh Vee - you make me laugh - what a great story about the manna from the tree!!
    I love your Monet painting - it inspires me to get painting again - for real and not with apps!!!
    We're getting snow squalls right now - ugh! Hope you're right about a warming trend coming....
  30. Manna from heaven? It's safer than pennies from heaven. But that's nothing to crow about. *giggle*
    Nothing odd here except me. Oh, I did have something fall over in the carport last night. All on it's own, apparently. I investigated with my new super high powered handheld LED light and the .45. Nope, nothing there. (If it was, after seeing me, it was already in the next county ...)
    I'm still working on the cool button graphic you so kindly sent yesterday. Hopefully that will appear on my blog soon. I'm being characteristically indecisive. ~:)
  31. April 1st is my DH's birthday. Yes, he has taken lots of jokes over the years :)
    That is so strange about the bread falling out of the tree but it had to be a large bird. No strange tales here!
  32. I laughed so hard about the bread dropping from the tree that I nearly choked! I haven't had anything odd happen lately, so I'm just going to enjoy reading everyone else's stories.
  33. I think the picture is kind of neat.
    Funny about the bread falling from the tree!!
    It snowed all day here but it didn't amount to anything.
    Can't think of any strange happening at the moment.
  34. That is wild about the bread!
    I have had fun reading everyone's comments here.
    We had strong wind and snow flurries today!
  35. After the week I've had, I sure needed a good chuckle :)
    Nothing odd has happened around here lately.
  36. Two baguettes and a biscuit? Neighbor might have put them i their trash, and a possum or a squirrel could have carried them off! fun stuff! xo
    ReplyDelete
  37. LOL- Now THAT is an odd thing that I don't think can be easily topped, Vee. Can you imagine if manna had of come down like that?!;>)
    I think your Monet looks pretty darned good! xo Diana
  38. I see you still have the lingerie background up, Vee...lol...just teasing! I keep promising myself I'll get the Waterlogue app and try it on a few of my photos, but as usual I am procrastinating...sigh
    I wonder if a squirrel could have hid that bread in the tree? They are so quick at grabbing and hiding things. Take it as a good sign--mana from heaven!
    Glad the worst of the storm will go out to sea! I think everyone has had enough of snow this year!
  39. Love your Version of Monet. I think you might be on to something here. As for the baguettes and biscuit..that was hilarious. I know it's a true story because you can't make that stuff up.
  40. I haven't had anything quite so bizarre (baguettes and biscuit) happen. How wonderful that it was bread and not something heavier. ~ I like your "oil" painting. It's fun to try new things even if they aren't exactly what you expect.
  41. You are hilarious! Thanks for the laugh!
  42. My Gram used to put bread on tree branches for the birds. I didn't read anyone else's comments to see if this had been mentioned before.
