A Haven for Vee

Thank You

Abby (Little Birdie Blessings) has done it again. Yesterday, a beautiful package arrived so delightfully presented that I nearly didn't want to open it.

Look at that beautiful crocheted rickrack trim in yellow! Oh and that sweet bird sticker!

This sweet card was created by Abby's friend Darlene.

Inside were this book and vintage bookmark.

The book fell open to this page and it was soooo good that I thought I'd share.

Last week, Abby sent the Isaiah verse bookmark and a birthday card. Thought I'd tuck them in, too. I'm sensing a theme here! (See the blue satin edging? I just found that inside the envelope this morning. Bonus!)

A closer look at the bookmarks...

Abby, thank you for all the times you have blessed me. If I were ever to doubt the love of God, I could just remember them and know that He has given me such a friend as you.

And, dear friend, thank you for reading here today: so many blogs; so little time.

A beautiful spring weekend to you!

P.S. All photos were taken using the iPad camera for its handy little "square" option. I am still practicing Lynda's methods and hope to improve. See yesterday's post if this makes no sense. ☺

  4. Thank you for sharing your gift with us Vee. I've been very 'down' the past few days, winter weary, and I really needed to read these words in the book you received and the scripture. Oh my. God's perfect timing for you and for me. Abby is a sweet friend to gift you these things and I appreciate you sharing with us. Have a wonderful day. Hugs. Pam

  6. Oh Vee, you bring tears to my eyes. Your photos always portray things in such a beautiful way. I'm glad you are pleased with the things I sent. We're told in Proverbs 11:25, whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Your lovely post is a much needed refreshment for me today. Thank you dear one. ~ Abby

  8. Such thoughtful gifts from a thoughtful friend. What a place the world if everyone had such a friend, or better yet, if everyone were such a friend...
I visited Lynda's blog yesterday, and what a delight I found her to be. I read her entire archives, and I'll be praying for her and her husband's health, and learning from her example. I have a long way to go to learn to take a good picture, never mind editing effectively. Thanks for the introduction.

  11. You are truly blessed with some great blogger friends. Some beautiful items there. I love the spirit of her gifts the spiritual sharing she does with them. Enjoyed yesterday's post about your editing techniques. I am also trying to root some geraniums and have a sweet potato vine started.

  19. It's comforting to know that blogging friends can sense when we need a little something and send a special card or package our way.

  22. It's the time of year for you, that an unexpected gift in the post must gladden your heart dear Vee.
How kind of Abby, she knows how to put a smile on your face, we all need a friend who knows when we need a little encouragement!
Beautiful treasures, I've made a note of the book - a perfect title for me at the moment as I wearily climb into bed at the end of the day and wonder why I'm doing this!
The sunshine colour of the ricrac and those gorgeous birdies are reminders that your Spring is on it's way and your life can get back to some sort of normality!
There will be green grass for the grandies to play on, birds singing their songs from the tree tops and smells of meat on the BBQ wafting in the air - just be patient a little longer!

    Hugs for a Blessed Sunday

  34. Such delightful gifts for your birthday, Vee, from this blogger friend! I wish I could remember everyone's special days like this but I even have difficulty remembering my own extended family's birthdays lately...lol! The world is spinning to fast for me and that "REST" passage was a perfect message! I also enjoyed your Sunday message.

    Happy Spring!

  35. Oh Vee, what a treasure your blog is. I am so truly sorry I have been so MIA - dealing with some health issues with a loved one, and one thing leads to another.....the fun stuff gets put back a notch or three.

Anyway, thank you for your blog and your wisdom and your kindness and all things wonderful. Apparently I missed your birthday. I am so sorry. May you be blessed with laughter, love, good health and peace throughout this coming year. Happy Springtime, my sweet and dear friend. xxoo
