My Sister's Pantry

On the outside chance that you enjoy peeking in closets or pantries much the same as I enjoy looking at book titles on bookshelves, I am sharing my sister's pantry with you. It's the cutest thing! Her husband designed and built it for her in what was formerly the front hallway.

Their home is a work in progress with a new living room currently being built. Then her living room will become the kitchen. The current kitchen will become a dining room. I think. Perhaps she'll read this and set me straight.

Anyway, the pantry is done!

A closer look at some of the vignettes that charmed me.

Now why do I feel like brewing a pot of tea and baking some muffins?

  1. Good Morning, Vee. Kim's pantry is wonderful. Love the muffin liners in the Mason jar, especially. For the first time in my life, I have a pantry in our new home. Now I have some great ideas thanks to you and Kim. Wishing you a nice day.

  2. Hi, Vee! I think this pantry is wonderful! It makes me want to go reorganize mine completely, though I think I'll just go back to sleep for the moment. I enjoyed looking at the pretty things in her pantry and will look at them again later. Does your sister live near you?

  3. What a spacious looking pantry! I have one, and I am thankful for it, but it's in the dungeon...er, I mean basement. Having one close to the kitchen would be a luxury. I believe a well stocked pantry is a must for saving money and keeping a good stock of what I use most in my cooking and baking.

  9. Vee, Your sister's pantry is very nice. I like the idea of cupcake papers in the jar. My daughter hung a see-thru shoe holder on her door inside and puts things in each pocket. Blessings for a fun weekend. xoxo, Susie

  11. I would love to have a pantry like your sister's. My little pantry is only big enough for some canned goods. I think muffins sound good and I'd fix iced tea with mine. Have a nice weekend!

  15. How wonderful it would be to have such a large pantry! Yes, a cup of tea is at my side while looking at your sister's pantry. Now I need to make some muffins.
It sounds like she is going to have a whole new house after the renovations. I hope she'll let us have an occasional peek. Have a nice weekend Vee. ♥

  16. Wonderful Vee, I bet she's quite pleased with it. I have a bit of a bowl fettish and have that vintage set of stacked colored bowls. Yup! Have so many bowls they are stacked within each other, can't display them all. I have stopped collecting, but it sure does make my heart skip a beat to see someone elses vintage goodies. Thanks for sharing. ~ Abby

  17. The pantry looks fantastic. Wow - sounds like a huge renovation going on there. I remember being inspired by you when you posted a picture of cupcake liners in a large vintage jar - maybe she got that idea from you? I now store mine in a large vintage jar too! I love how your creative eye caught those pretty little vignettes!

  18. I love to look at pantries. I have shelves in the basement and I use an oak cabinet in my kitchen, but in my dreams I have a walk in pantry! I love the clever things your sister has done to store things in a cute way!

  19. Just beautiful, Vee! The vignettes you captured with your camera are lovely and inspiring. I love pantries ... have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to them! Both my grandmother and Mr. T's grandmother had wonderful walk-in pantries -- little rooms with counters and cupboards where they could walk right in and mix up a cake or cookies. How I would love a pantry like that. I don't suppose we will need pantries in heaven?

What a fun pantry! I really love the idea of cupcake holders in a canning jar, I'm going to put mine in one ASAP. I can tell she is a fun lady just by what she keeps in her pantry . . . very lovely, and what great inspiration. Thank you for sharing!

  22. Your sister's name is Kim? I like her already :).
What a fabulous pantry they have created. So much fun to see all of the nooks and crannies. I especially like the built in cubbies for the trays, etc. Great idea.

  26. I certainly DO love a peek into someone's closet or pantry! And I really love when it's organized so prettily as this one is...full of inspiring ideas! (That said, there are a few closets in my house that are...ahem...uninspiring. But the goal is to have pretty, organized spaces.)

  27. This is like eye candy for me! And I got a new idea or two I will use. You've got a creative sister, as you are too!

  28. So nice to have a large, organized pantry. It's pretty easy to peruse someone's bookshelves, but looking through a pantry could be considered nosy. So thanks for letting us peek at your sister's. :) The muffin cups look cute in the Mason jar.

  31. Yup...cute! I love organized closets and pantries. Not sure why mine looks chaotic so much of the time!

  32. That just shows that even a pantry can be enjoyable. I did paint my shelves, but that is about where I stopped. This is great and inviting. Fun post! I think of you often...and lift your name to the Lord. Hugs!

  33. What fun to peek into your sister's pantry. I like the idea of the peg board for hanging things. My pantry looks best with the door firmly closed.

  34. What a makeover they are doing! My daughter and SIL changed their living room into a dining room and the dining room into a sitting area (ladies lounge). Love the cupcake liner idea!

  35. I just LOVE pantries...and instant oatmeal...xoxo

  36. Oh wow! I have so many little boxes of fancy cupcake liners. I'm going to put them in a canning jar. Brilliant idea!

  37. Kim's pantry is both well stocked and very decorative! The pegboard to hang gadgets is a wonderful idea as there is no need to shuffle through a stuffed cabinet draw. I'd love to see how all the renovations in your sister's home turn out when completed.

  38. LOVE LOVE LOVE this little peek...yes, I love a peek into a pantry for some reason. I really like the idea of the cup cake papers in a mason jar...adorable. I am soo far behind but better late then never right? Have a good week Vee!

  39. I sure enjoyed the peek into your sister's new pantry. I love the lace shelf edging. It sounds like she will be in construction mode for a while and it will be interesting to see/hear how it goes. I made pumpkin/chocolate chip cookies and muffins yesterday and they are tasty indeed. Perfect for this season and the only time of year I make them. Have a beautiful week Vee.

  41. Oh wow, Vee, I love your sister's pantry!! It has such a charming, vintage look to it. It sounds like they have quite a bit of construction ahead in their home. It's so nice to get a "new kitchen" and I'm sure your Sis will enjoy that. :)

I hope you are well, Vee, and having a good week!

    Hugs to you,

  42. Wow, what a fun pantry! I don't think I'll show mine to anyone, at least not until I spend an hour cleaning it. Love that your sister is doing musical chairs with the rooms of her house. That would be so interesting and fun!

  43. ...did I mention I love your new profile picture..?

  44. Oh my...I am in awe of that wonderful space! I love all of the vintage loveliness too...the Pyrex in particular. I saw she has the whole set of those mixing bowls too...wow...I only have the big yellow one that I found at a yard sale for $2. Question: Is that gorgeous lace edging paper, vinyl or something else? I may just have to remember some of these great ideas when it comes time for the farm house :) Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thank you, Kathi, for leaving a comment. Though my sister is a good writer, she does not blog. I can imagine her laugh to imagine doing it. She's a very busy gal as a full-time maternity nurse and a full-time caregiver for our dad.
