Whose Kitchen?

First things first, thank you for joining me for my little quiz. Some of you did very well indeed, especially since I was a kinda unfair. Anyway, I had fun.  Every single kitchen was correctly determined, just not all on the same comment.

~Marilla Smokes?~

Fun and interesting little behind the scenes video.

1. Sorry about showing you the Green Gables pantry (good eye, Mrs. T!) on yesterday's post instead of the kitchen. Further, I am not sure that the pantry was ever shown in the 1980s series so that really was unfair.

↑2. A number of you recognized the Downton Abbey Kitchen.

↑3. The kitchen from A Christmas Story reminds me of my maternal grandmother's kitchen. Anyway, this is not taken from the same perspective, but check the chairs and table.

↑4. The shiplap gave it away!

↑5. And, lastly, the Waltons' Kitchen. My dad and I enjoy watching that show in the afternoons when I am there. I don't get that station at my home. This kitchen reminds me of my father's childhood home...the stove is in the right place, the sink, the table, too.

Again, thanks for playing along. Have a great weekend!

P.S. Go, Patriots!

  4. Woohoo, glad I got a few correct. So maybe I should make New England Clam Chowder for the game with Georgia Peach Pie for dessert.

  6. Pretty neat. I'm surprised that my guesses were right.

The one I didn't even guess on, the kitchen from A Christmas Story -- didn't recognize that, but I've seen the movie only once or twice. Guess I was so focused on the little brother hiding in the kitchen cabinets to notice the rest of the surroundings.

The Green Gables pantry (like my other correct answers) was also only a guess, but it seemed right. I've visited Green Gables too, several times, but it's been years. I'm thinking that the pantry probably was shown in the movies -- the mouse drowned in the pudding incident surely must have shown it -- and those glasses on the upper right shelves would surely be what Anne used to serve Diana the infamous raspberry cordial.

Not surprised by Marilla smoking. I thought from the first time I heard her voice that she was, or had been, a smoker. That said, the little clip was so much fun to watch. Guess I need to spend time on YouTube to find these things!

Thinking of television kitchens ... Aunt Bee's Mayberry kitchen -- now I love that kitchen! Think I could be right at home in that one.

This was lots of fun. Have an enjoyable weekend.

  10. You know, I did think Anne of Green Gables on the first kitchen, but just wasn't sure. Guess I should have said so, lol. I would never have guessed any of the rest of them though, because we don't have a tv in our home, we like to keep life simple :) Hugs to you today :)

  14. Fun, indeed! I just came by once the answers were up. Most were familiar to me.

Is it snowing over there too? We are having a snow day here today. I'm ready for spring. :)

  18. oh, I missed your quiz, Vee. I'll have to go back and check it out. My goodness I never realized how long it takes for just one shot to be filmed. It must have taken forever to do the whole Anne of Green Gables series od shows! I loved Colleen Dewhurst. Well they were all excellent actors. did you know that she was married to George C. Scott-twice? He is another one of my favorites. Did you ever watch Wind at My Back or Avonlea? They were both produced by Sullivan Entertainment. I wish they were producing more shows like these today. Hope you're doing well Vee-Kim

  19. The Walton's table looks like mine at the holidays--I always overcook --lol! Everyone loves leftovers though, so it does not go to waste. I forgot to say in the last post Happy Birthday to your father! Hope he is feeling well now!

  23. Well, I got 2 1/2 right. Anne of Green Gables, and the Waltons for sure. Chip and Joanna Gaines, I wasn't quite sure, so that's where I'm giving myself a score of 1/2. What a fun game. Thanks for doing this!

  24. Sorry to have missed this...our days are filled with doctors right now and I am spending less time on the computer. The only one I would have known was the Walton's......

  25. Oh I missed this! But how fun to watch that video. Yes Marilla smoking and drinking a can of Coke I think!!

  26. Silly me, I hardly ever look at the set when I am watching a show, I always watch the characters! Fun to see what was what. I watched most of those shows as a kid :)

  27. Well, I see I have missed some fun! I would have gotten two correct, at least. That version of Anne of Green Gables is my favorite but not sure I would have recognized the kitchen. What an imaginative and fun post!
