Light in The Forest

Spider Lilies and I feel a rant coming on...

The biggest news around here is that this is moving day for my son's family. The grands were wistful yesterday about sleeping at 78 for the last time.  Tonight, they'll be sleeping each in his own room at 92 for the very first time. It's a good thing.

See that dappled light through the trees? The homeowners began sawing down trees and now are in a major building project. I can't see exactly what they're doing but perhaps a garage or a pool or something big is happening over there.

[Okay, am I safely down the page to let it rip? I have seen the slop bucket all over Blogdom and it has been mighty annoying, but it really became personal this morning when all my "Love, Vees" turned into those disgusting graphics warning me that my signatures were being held hostage by said slop bucket and that I'd have to pay up. Nice try, Bozos, but I have zero intention of paying you anything, though I certainly did try to get my photos printed at your stupid site; it was impossible. I will remove every stinking one of  those signatures on all umpteen posts if it takes me the rest of my life or maybe I'll just wander off and delete this entire blog and be done with it. Way to go making so many so frustrated with you. Brilliant you definitely are not.]

Hope that you have not been adversely affected by this new policy. You may or may not see my new signature on posts, but when and if you do, it will be in John Hancock proportions. Ha!

P.S. This is what I'm huffing about, folks. If you don't know what I am talking about, you don't use buttons from other blogs on your favorite blogs page and you don't use a signature.

That's right! A mere $400 a year will give you a cute little signature at the end of your posts. Bugger that!

  1. {{{giggling}}} oh girl...you really should be happy you cant see my posts...I put on one heck of a rant. I am back to applying to New York state schools...later I will email you...you might get a good laugh ---I wasn't laughing yesterday, but today, I do see the Silver Lining and shame on Pennsylvania for treating an out of stater that way.

Oh, sorry, didn't mean to rant here, giggling. Have a great day friend. smiles

  2. Vee, Sorry you are being pestered by ..I truly do not know how to describe some people..I try to be nice . I often wonder when people are so smart as to hack, steal, invade...why don't they use their great knowledge to start a company or do something fabulous. I hope your grands love their new home. Will they be attending their same school? That some times make s big difference to children. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  3. Well, I still have over 3500 posts to clean up from the photobucket mess. Ugh and oye! That is nice for your grands to look forward to their own room. What a subtle change having some trees removed. Hope it's not an eyesore that you'll be seeing through the trees come winter...or are those the types of trees that keep their fullness all year long?

    1. What poor business policy on their part... Sorry that you have so much cleaning up to do at your blog. I am finding it quite overwhelming here.

I hadn't thought of what the neighbor's property might look like come winter...hmmm...could be interesting.

  4. So sorry to hear of this problem of which you speak, Vee! UGH!
Glad to hear the grands are in their new home. There's a reason we have lived in our home for 44 years as I can't imagine moving. ♥

  5. I've been seeing the slop buckets in a few places and have wondered about them. What an invasion! Sorry you have to deal with them.
I hope your grandsons and their parents get settled in nicely in their new home and are happy there. Also hope the new tenants don't disturb the neighborhood too much.

  7. Hope the move goes well today. It's always good to have everything shifted and at least be in to sleep for the night. Nice the boys will each have his own space. I know not what you speak of re. the rant but I am so sorry it is frustrating you. Maybe I should look around my blog and see if something is "off."

  8. Uh, oh! Now you have me worried. Is my signature going to be held hostage as well? I am checking, and don't see any 'warning graphics' as yet. That is not good!

Hope moving day goes well over there!

  9. Hi Vee~

I'm so glad the moving will be over with, it will be a wonderful day for all involved!

Yes, my signature was held hostage as well - I no longer use it, but I feel the same way, no way, am I paying them once red cent! I love your new signature, and will be making my own as well.

    Have a wonderful Saturday!

    Hugs,
    Barb

P.S. Ranting is sometimes necessary for sanity!

  11. I have seen some things on my blog from photobucket that is ugly. I thought it was just me. Happy to hear the grandson's family has moved. Are you referring to temperature, when the boys sleep over?? Been a hot few days on the coast of Maine.

  14. I am sorry about your problem. Please do not go away. I, and many others, would miss you terribly.
All the best to your son's family. I learned long ago when moving, to make the beds FIRST thing so I can fall into them later! lol

  15. I don't know anything about slop buckets either, but sorry to hear you are having problems with it.

  16. So glad the moving day has come and gone, first of all. Secondly, what the heck are slop buckets and how does one's signature get held hostage and how do you know if it has? I have never heard of this. I am so sorry this happened to you.

  17. I really wish I knew who the SLOP BUCKET is so that we could avoid him/her....

Glad the move is done...they are really going to love their pool...

  18. Aw Vee - so, so annoying about photo bucket!!! Yikes. Please don't stop blogging .....
I'm sure the boys are going to love their new home and that the move has been done. Now they can settle in.

  19. I hope moving day goes smoothly for your son's family. It took me a minute to figure out your slop bucket reference. I know a number of my stitching friends are not happy with the new fee nor the fact they weren't given any warning. I hope you are able to retrieve your photos and whatnot without too much aggravation.

  20. I really did not know anything about this problem. I am new in the blogosphere and now I feel terrified. Let's hope that everything will go well to you. Kisses.

  23. Vee, I only had one PhotoBucket problem - the 'back to the top' arrow which I somehow got from someone's tutorial - but was I ever mad when that ugly thing replaced my cute little green arrow on my sidebar! After several e-mails to 'slop bucket' (love that) and seeing the thousands of people who were being held hostage, and the scathing comments, I figured it out for myself and I got rid of it thankfully. I've never had an account with them and of course never will at $400 annual fee!
I only use PicMonkey - wonderful, amazing PicMonkey where I can do anything just about for a small annual fee!

Sorry - but please don't leave us!

    Mary -
