I love vintage kitchen tools, and the only person I know who loves them more than I do is my mom. She has an old (now painted) tobacco drying rack running across two walls in the table end of her kitchen from which she hangs all of her mother's (and grandmother's and probably some of her great grandmother's) old kitchen tools. It's my favorite part of her kitchen.

(And related to a post from you that I clearly missed on Saturday, there is a pasta cutter among those tools.)

I used to use them many years ago when I was a school teacher to introduce a unit on nouns. I would bring them all (and a bunch of her other vintage schtuff) to school and have kids try to name them. It was fun.

Thanks for that memory this morning. I love the shaving mug scoop, I have a little jadeite cup I scoop oatmeal with and it makes me smile every time I use it. The green glass juicer is so pretty, and so is the green hook. I'm loving that color lately! I found some old pastry cutters at a garage sale that match another I picked up a few years ago.
