Forty

Someone in the family turned forty in the past week. How this is even possible simply staggers me, especially when the subject in question is a child of mine. I know that I am always talking about the passing of time, but not in such sweeps.

Sam and Adam

The birthday boy called in a Jello Poke Cake with pudding frosting. He was kind enough to say that it lived up to his expectations. I had not made one in a quarter of a century. It lived up to mine as well. I think that there'll be a few more Poke Cakes in our future.

His sister got him the vintage t-shirt. Vintage? So soon? And I am still good enough to recognize that he is grinning because something is going on behind the scenes... What could it be?

Jake, is that your hand?

Thanks for peeking in. Keeping comments closed for now.

Good Morning

This morning, as I often do, I came looking in my blog for a recipe and a date and a photo. I was denied access. Always scary. When I finally got it straightened around, I decided to flip the switch from private to public after all these months. The issues causing the shut down of the blog are not one hundred per cent resolved though I am tempted to say, "bite me." Course, I never would.

You may not find me here very often, but you can visit, if you choose.

In a few days, I hope to have very good news indeed. Until then, keep looking up.
