This is Abby from Little Birdie Blessings, with some news about our dear friend Vee. On Sunday, July 23, 2023, Vee peacefully left this earth for her Heavenly reward. For four years, she valiantly fought the battle of breast cancer, until the Lord called her home. Her family has provided a link to her obituary below.
She had such a strong faith that seemed to never waiver, despite her circumstances. I know she had met many friends through the blogging community, and enjoyed reading and commenting on many of your blogs. If you'd like to leave a message for the family, you can comment here, they will see it. On behalf of the family, thank you to all who were her friend, and prayed for her.
One of the last scriptures she posted was: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41:10

Oh noo...I knew she must be busy...because she was usually good about posting.
ReplyDeleteVee was an inspiration to all who knew her. Very kind and supportive to all her Blogger Buddies. May she be flying high with the Angels and be pain free!
Goodbye, Vee...with Love!
Big Hug to family and friends...

I am so sorry to hear this. Thank you for letting us know. I was wondering how she was doing. I am so grateful for the work she did on this blog and her visits to my blog. Her posts were encouraging and a blessing to read. Her comments on my blog were much appreciated. She had such wise, straightforward, godly advice which was wonderful. May God bless and comfort her family! The Scripture she shared from Isaiah 41:10 is very comforting. She will be missed, but I know she is at rest with the dear Lord.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear this. My condolences.
ReplyDeleteHow heartbreaking this news is...I am so very sorry for Vee's family...although we were not able to meet in person, Vee's warm heart and friendship was evident in her blogging world...she is missed and I feel so fortunate to have known her across the miles....
ReplyDeleteSo, heartbreaking...I was just going to send out a card...wondering what she has been up too...
ReplyDeleteTears are flowing here. I will miss dear Vee and her oh so thoughtful comments and interactions. Thank you so much for letting us know. Bloggy world has lost a gem. So thankful I'll see her again and for the first time in person in heaven.
ReplyDeleteOh no - such sad news. I was just thinking about her and wanting to send her an email to see how she was doing. Vee was often the first to comment on my wee posts and always a delight to hear from. Her posts were always so interesting and I thought of her as a dear friend! Rest easy dear Vee! Peace and grace to her family.
ReplyDeleteVee was such a kind loving friend to all that knew and loved her! Though we never met in person, I feel I knew her heart through her writings. She will be missed greatly! To her family and friends I extend my sympathy. Rest in the arms of our Lord, dear Vee.
ReplyDeleteThank You, Abby, for writing this.
ReplyDeleteI was blessed to have met Vee in person, and found her even more delightful in person than on her blog -- and that's saying something! Blogdom will surely not be the same without her and her wise, thoughtful, loving heart. Not to mention her wonderful photos and her evocative prose. I will miss her so much. Had hoped to meet up with her again this summer, but meeting in heaven -- whenever that happens -- will of course be even better. So thankful she is safe in the arms of Jesus and that I know I will see her again.
May her family and friends be comforted by these same things and also by the many wonderful memories they have of their dear one.
Oh, I am so very sorry for this sad news. I 'met' Vee years ago through blogging. She was a joy to follow, and I was always glad for her sparkling comments on my own blog. Vee's presence here will be greatly missed. My heart condolences to all her family and friends. God bless Vee, and God bless those who mourn her passing. What a reunion for Vee and John, now both safely with the Lord.

Oh, I am so very sorry to hear this news. I was a late-comer to Vee's blog, and did not know her as well as some, but I always enjoyed her posts and sweet comments so very much. I truly wish I could have known her longer and better. My sympathies to her family and friends. She will be missed by all, and also by us in this blogging community. I look forward to meeting her someday in heaven. Thank you, Abby, for letting us know. Too often our blogging friends just disappear from the blogging page and we never know what happened to them. I had been wondering and concerned when we hadn't heard from Vee in a while, but I didn't know how to contact her. She truly will be missed.
ReplyDeleteI am heart broken to hear this, Vee was a dear blogging friend and she was always so kind, and sweet to me, I met Vee here in blogland in 2008, she was the very first person to welcome me to blogland!
ReplyDeleteI have been absent from blogging myself, and wasn't aware of how serious this was, please accept my heartfelt condolences, I know she and I will one day meet in heaven and I hope to walk hand in hand with her on the streets of gold, I am also looking forward to meeting and talking with her husband John.
May you find comfort in knowing that there will be a great reunion for us all one day.soon.
Blessings,
Sue
Thank you Abby for passing this information along, although we would all wish it wasn't sad news. My deepest condolences go out to Vee's family for their loss and to ours as fellow bloggers. As we both live in New England, I enjoyed her posts and had hoped that one day we might met up in person. perhaps that will happen in another life.
ReplyDeleteThank you Abby for sharing. Many years ago I read Ms. Vee's blog then strayed elsewhere. I heard of her passing from another blog. This just breaks my heart that she's no longer with us. God bless.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this update with us, Abby, although I am so sorry to read this news. I, too, felt like I knew Vee, though I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person. She was one of my earliest friends when I began blogging, and I so appreciated all her kind comments to me. I will miss her so much -- she had many friends here. I know she is with John again; may God bless and keep her and the rest of her family. My sincere sympathy to her son, daughter, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and sister. Rest in peace, Vee.

Thank you for posting this. Vee was a very important person to me. She cared about people, not just read their blogs. I received many emails from her as we talked back and forth about things. I will miss her terribly, but know although I didn't meet her in person here on earth, I will in heaven. What wonderful talks we will have. My condolences to all of her family. She was much loved by many.
ReplyDeleteAbby, thank you for sharing this news with us, unhappy as it is for those of us who loved Vee and her blog posts. I remember when she asked you to step into her blog when her husband John died, and now you are doing a similar service with this post. You have been a good friend to Vee over the years. Vee will be missed. I loved her homey snapshots from her life and reading her observations.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to learn of Vee's passing. Thanks for sharing this with us, Abby.
ReplyDeleteTo Vee's family and friends: my heartfelt sympathies are with you all. Vee will be missed in the blogging community. Her positivity and kindness is there for all to see. This is a blogging friend from Georgia...Kay G.
This is very sad news. Vee was a wonderful blogger, sharing tidbits of her everyday life with us. Her strong faith in Jesus shone through and I know that she is rejoicing in heaven to be with her Lord, and with her husband John.
ReplyDeleteMay the God of all comfort be very near to her family, her children, grandchildren, and sister, along with nieces and nephews.
Vee and I became friends years ago through this beautiful space. We had fun over the years with her fun Note Card Party, and commenting back and forth on each others blogs. When covid hit, she and I texted nearly daily. That started a sisterhood. She was the sister I never had.
ReplyDeleteWe met in person in October of 2011, when our family was traveling through New England, and we were so happy to have met John as well!
Vee was a great encourager, and we shared our faith in common. I loved sending her political cartoons, she especially was fond of Ben Garrison's cartoons.
She loved her family so dearly, and loved to talk about Sam and Jake and what they were up to, and in recent years the sweet little great nephew and niece.
I've been missing her, but rejoice to know she's with Jesus, and dear John, and other family members.
Thank you Abby for this update. This is so sad to hear as I feel I have known Vee since 2008 through the wonderful world of blogging. She will be greatly missed. Her blog posts were always so well written and interesting. I always enjoyed reading the comments she would leave for me. She truly had a way with words and always conveyed kindness and caring. My thoughts are with her family in the loss of dear Vee. May the memories of their happy times together bring comfort in the days ahead.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me incredibly sad. She was a blog buddy to me from the very beginning and I sure will miss her. I love the note card parties she hosted and keeping up with the winter weather in Maine! I know she loved her family and I've watched those grandkids grow up over the years with the photos she shared. I am keeping you all in my prayers. Hugs from Vee's blog buddy in Florida, Diane
