Finally! Some Clothes!
Back when I used to play...prior to John's passing. This was first scheduled for May 23, 2016.

~new "spring" outfits~
Tammy's skirt is similar to mine, though her top is made from an old handkerchief. We especially love the little embroidered flowers and the trim on the bottom of her skirt.
Vee found this broken baby ring in an old jewelry box. It makes a pretty bracelet for Tammy.
I'm wearing a bracelet, too. Around my neck. Vee thinks it is the bracelet that her mama bought while on her senior class trip to the White Mountains way back in 1952.
Guess that's all you'll see from Tammy and me until we get more outfits. My guess is that Vee is not in the mood for playing just now and we'd better resign ourselves to these dresses for some time.
Have a great day!
(wink) {{{Shirley}}} Vee needs time...just know that people are praying...love you sweet friend...and I wish I could be there to help in any way I could.
ReplyDeleteThank you Shirley for bringing us up to date on the beautiful outfits Vee has made for the two of you! Love all the details. The fabric is fabulous and I really like those embroidered flowers, too. So sweet! Blessings on your designer.
ReplyDeleteI had a Shirley Temple doll about a million years ago....:(
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shirley, for showing us the pretty dresses Vee made. I love the blue colour. Vee might not be in the mood for play yet, but she'll like your hugs and comfort. Prayers, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shirley - your outfits as well as the accessories are a lovely combination to be "stuck" in for the summer. I'm sure you won't tire of them, and perhaps Vee will feel more like playing in a few months and prepare you a fall wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteAwe, sweet outfits. Praying for Vee. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteDear Shirley,
ReplyDeleteYour dress and Tammy's are as sweet as can be, and the jewelry is so clever!
Awe, so sweet. And don't you worry Shirley, Vee will feel like playing in time. xo
ReplyDeleteCute outfits for both you and Tammy. Vee did a great job. I'm sure you will get other clothes just as nice in time.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of my Tony doll and Ginny doll. The clothes are great, and, sigh, remind me of all the doll clothes my grandma and big sister made for our dolls. Love the coordination and the jewelry!
ReplyDeleteTammy and Shirley, you are both lucky girls to have someone to sew such tailored dresses for you. Please tell Vee hi for me and give her a hug from me too.
ReplyDeleteKim
Shirley,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the new dresses Vee made for you & Tammy. They are so pretty and look ideal for keeping cool over the hot summer months. The jewelry is the perfect accessory and extra special due to it's history.
I know there will come a day when Vee is ready to play again. In the meantime, please show her extra love and whisper in her ear that there are many of us out here in blogland who are thinking of her and sending love her way.
What a sweet post!
ReplyDeleteLove the post! I hope you feel like playing again soon, Vee. Life is just so hard and full of unexpected pitfalls, isn't it? We just never know what we are going to be handed. God bless you (and Shirley and Tammy, too). xo Diana
ReplyDeleteShirley, you and Tammy look great!
ReplyDeleteLove you Vee!
Well, it is good to visit here at the Haven, even if the 'lady of the house' is not really up to it just yet! Give her my best wishes...and tell her she did a fine job of dressing you up! Happy 4th of July to all of you over there!
ReplyDeleteVee made you some lovely things didn't she. Thank you for sharing them with us!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfits, Vee certainly did a great job. Take care.
ReplyDeleteCute outfits. Wouldn't surprise me if Vee gets to creating and crafting sooner than ya may think. She has some talent, that one. ♥
ReplyDeleteDarling clothes! I need to make new clothes for my Sue doll from the early 50s....My grandmother made a beautiful pioneer outfit for her, well more than 50 years ago, and it has worn out sadly, and I think I will try to make something new for her. What a lovely memory of my Nana taking me downtown to choose new fabric for this dress at the May Company. I wavered over it hours, it seems, and finely settled on a yellow and white strip with little blue flowers. My sweet Nana!
ReplyDeleteShirley, so nice of you to help Vee post! Hugs to Vee and you, too.
Sweet outfits! Vee did a lovely job and the jewelry adds such an extra special touch. I have an American Girl doll of my very own (gifted from a friend) and one day I hope to make some outfits for her. Used to make American Girl outfits all the time when my girls were at that stage. Just no time right now.
ReplyDeletePlease give Vee a hug from me and tell her I'm praying for her!
Cute dresses!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this post. I still have many of my childhood dolls. You've given me a good idea to use old childhood rings etc. for the dolls. Love the sweet doll clothes.
ReplyDeleteShirley, Vee made you and Tammy such pretty clothes and pretty jewelry. Please take good care of her. Love you, Vee. ♥
ReplyDeleteThey are so very sweet and I'm so glad you are publishing some of the posts you had ready to go. I know it's a most difficult time for you and I keep you in my prayers. I've gone through seasons in my life when I couldn't play. Sending you lots of sweet hugs today, Diane
