Prompts desperately needed! Thanks to Joyce at This Side of the Pond for providing them.
1. Tell us about your favorite moment or share one of the bright spots from the year we're leaving behind.
Thinking about 2020 gives me a headache. Sure, there were a few good days—precious few, and far between. Christmas was the highlight.
2. What do you wish you'd known at the start of 2020? Elaborate.
Difficult to answer. I would not have wanted to know one thing about 2020. It was the kind of year that was best unrolled one day at a time. Knowing anything in advance, I may have lived under the bed.
3. Best book you read this year? If you did not read any books this year, what's the best thing you ate all year? We've all eaten, right?
I enjoyed reading my Gladys Taber books. I didn't try anything new in culinary delights.
4. The Pantone Colors of the year for 2021 are ultimate gray and illuminating yellow (a bright shade)...are you a fan? Would we find either of these colors in your home or wardrobe?
I might be; You might.
5. If you were/are making a list of 21 things to do/accomplish in 2021 what is one thing that would be on it?
Death Cleaning/Decluttering...the entire house needs it from basement to attic and the garage could use more, as well.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Emmanuel making his first gingerbread house
Anneke's First Christmas
Kirsten, Anneke, and Raccoon
Emmanuel likes to clean
Reminds me of David Engledow and Alice Bee
Adam. Sam, Jake wrapping gifts for their mom on Christmas Eve
Beautiful Laurel...say, what would that app do for me?
Ahhh well, moving right along. ツ

Oh Vee...how I have missed you...such a delightful Christmas post...loved it! Happy New Year 2021!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this, I feel I've had a wonderful visit with you. Sam and Jake are not those little boys of yesteryear - my goodness, they are now handsome young teenage men! Beautiful picture of Laurel. She looks so much like you. Please give us an update on her cabin living. It's a cute cabin and I've wondered how she's weathered during the snow storms you've had.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see your post. Glad you had a nice Christmas. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year
ReplyDeleteI love the glimpse of your beautiful home. The red plaid (yes!) on the table with your beautiful wood walls makes my heart sing! Sam and Jake are getting so grown up. Wow! Laurel is beautiful and so are you!
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling a deep decluttering coming in the new year. After we take Sarah back to school and visit Emma and family. Then home to a new semester for Kyle and decluttering here!
I am so very happy to see you post, Vee...and such lovely photos. Hey, don't sell yourself short, you are so very lovely and thank you for the card, smiles. I love your home, so very cozy and pretty. smiles
ReplyDeleteYour answers to the questions were somewhat amusing. Well ... I'm making them amusing, otherwise I'd be hiding under the bed too. Love the glamour app. You ladies look mahvelous. Gingerbread houses and first Christmases and grands wrapping secret presents at your house are what make Christmas fun. Thanks for sharing these pictures Vee. You might even prompt me to come out of a self induced blog retirement and create a post.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you sweet Vee. Loved all the pictures and you are so dang cute girl! I pray that 2021 brings a breath of fresh air for us all. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteSo lovely to see a post from you this morning. It's been quite the year! I'm very thankful that the Christmas promise of Emmanuel - God with us - is ever true. He's been with us throughout every moment. What a great glamour app - Laurel does look like you. I can't believe how tall Jake and Sam are! Wonderful photos. Praying that 2021 will be filled with freshness and delight.
ReplyDeleteI love the warmth of your home! The wood walls are so cozy! And you have my same dining chairs!!!
ReplyDeleteYour family is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your Christmas with us!
Beautiful Vee with the holly in your hair - you always bring such a cheery perk to your posts for us share. 2020 was a hard one and it still may continue for some time, however, with those beautiful children, and babies close by I just know you will continue to do fine.
ReplyDeleteA very happy, healthy New Year dear - and please keep posting X
P.S. How much an hour does Emmanuel+Daddy charge? I sure could use that cutie for the high spots, bet his gingerbread house was yummy too!
Like you, my entire house needs decluttering and a deep clean, and of course I can no longer use the excuse "just don't have enough time." But do still have the torn rotator cuff excuse. Am awaiting surgery some day once the virus patients no longer require the hospital beds, bless them all.
Sweet photos of the crew doing all the things that bring good memories. You are looking good all sparkly! Anneke and Emmanuel are so cute. It's fun to have littles around at Christmas. Now I think I'll get out my duster wand and see if I can reach some cobwebs! Happy New Year dear Vee!
ReplyDeleteWe had a lovely Christmas too considering. I can't get over how much your grandson's have grown! How wonderful to have new little ones to enjoy Christmas with.
ReplyDeleteYour home is everything I love! Warm, cozy, snug and full of beautiful things.....plus YOU live there so that makes it even more special! Happy NEW Year!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet family Christmas. Hope you have a wonderful New Year.
ReplyDeleteIt’s always nice to see pics of family! Your grandsons have grown so much! The baby is adorable! I think I need that app that you and Laurel used. Happy New Year, Vee. Let’s hope and pray that it’s a better one.
ReplyDeleteSome days, bl00ger annoys the living daylights out of me. 🤨 Just had to vent.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Vee. I enjoyed seeing the merriment around your lovely home. Praying for better days ahead!
ReplyDeleteIt looked like a wonderful Christmas with your family, Vee. Your grandsons have grown so tall! Your sister's grandchildren are adorable. Our Christmas was quiet but we managed to share some sweet moments together. What a strange year it has been, but we are grateful that we all stayed healthy. Happy and Healthy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI have to chuckle at your answer to #2. I love all the pictures! Your Christmas looked like a lot of fun. Happy New Year, Vee!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeleteSuch nice family photos!! Your daughter is so pretty, and she definitely looks like you! :) The baby photos are precious, as well. It's sad, but true, I have to agree with all your answers regarding the year 2020. Thank goodness it has gone "bye bye" but I'm sure we'll be living with the fallout for a while. Sigh. Your den (my favorite room) looks wonderful and oh so cozy all decked out for Christmas.
Vee, I really appreciate your faithful visits over the past year. I'm sorry my blog has been such a problem for you to leave comments on, but I sure am glad to receive those comments from you. :) I hope you're staying healthy and enjoying your family. Take care and have a good week!
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Hello~
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that I am not here often enough anymore to keep up with the slew of foul comments I receive. It's so unpleasant that I thought it best, for now, to close comments. Hopefully, we can still visit at your place. 🫖
