Responses:
1. Honestly, can not think of a thing. Mostly, I am on the receiving end these days. Oh I did spend hours on Amazon shopping for 💘 treats.
It was fun, but hardly a labor of love.
2. The thing I love about my age now is that it is not the age it will be by month's end.
3. The freedom to be spontaneous because planning is not my strong point. Anytime that I don't have to fret or agonize in advance is good.
4. home cooked
both pink and red
both sunrise and sunset
cheese and chocolate 🍫 no wine nor champagne for me, thanks!
5. Oh do I have to? Romance is not an easy thing to define. It is easier to define what it is not as it may have zero to do with genuine love, which I don't have to define since 1 Corinthians 13 explains so very well.
Am I a romantic? Hope not.
6. Wishing everyone who honors Valentine's Day a blessed one. May it be an opportunity to say, "I love You" to all your favorite peeps.
Love,
Vee
Fun answers Vee...it's always nice to know more about our fellow bloggers!

That was fun to read!
ReplyDeleteLove that last quote!
ReplyDeleteI like how you formatted the podge and answered the questions. You are a creative writer and I enjoy reading what you write...your style in writing. Happy Valentine's day to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteGreat answers, great fun! Know you even better now, and still hope to meet some day. I'm finding it harder and harder to work on #3 - don't enjoy planning travel any longer, getting to the point where I'm a procrastinator, whereas Bob is champing at the bit and thinks we can still travel the world. . . . . . .it's exhausting!
ReplyDeleteLove the Piglet/Pooh quotation.
Early Happy Valentine's Day dear Vee.
I love the Winnie-the-Pooh quote you included! One of my favorites. Visiting from WH#10
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeleteI love reading folks' answers to these Hodge Podge questions. :) I feel like it's a good way to get to know you better. I liked your answer to Question #2. :D It's fun to see your stuffed Piglet; oh, how I love the Winnie the Pooh books! I hope you're having a good week, Vee, and Happy Valentine's Day to you (a tad early)!!
Warm hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Wonderful quote from Piglet! I'm sure I've told you all about my daughter Joanna's stuffed piglet who has been on all manner of travel adventures with her and her family. She and Clay made a really fun photo book of one trip -- I think it was Cumberland Island in Georgia -- for nieces and nephews and there was Piglet lurking somewhere in each photo. Part of the fun of reading the book was to find the Piglet on each page.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got in on the Hodgepodge this week. As you noticed, I did too! Pretty excited about that. Hope you're having a wonderful week!
Amen. God's definition of perfect love is 1 Corinthians 13.
ReplyDeleteI like reading your answers - I don't do these Hodgepodge questions because I know I wouldn't be able to keep them up weekly. As the others have said, it is a good way to get to know someone better.
Love your answers. Many I would have answered the same or very close. I must admit I am a hopeless romantic! That's before at 81 and my dearest at 85, we have never been more in love with each other. I wear hearing aids, not the best eyesight, and have to take out partials at night!! but oh the joy of not having to put on airs...and being able to love each other just the way we are...I still do like "sexy" nightgowns...HaHa
ReplyDeleteI like that Winnie-the-Pooh quote about love...it can only be felt, not spelled. And I agree that the definition found in 1 Corinthians 13 is the best definition of love. It's always fun to read your hodge-podge responses. I'm thinking about how I might respond. Happy Valentine's Day to you, Vee!
ReplyDeleteFun answers, Vee! Defining love is easier than defining romance, I believe. I Corinthians is the highest love there is! Piglet's words are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see you here today. Amazon shopping is a little too easy lol. We don't have a lot of shopping nearby so I do appreciate the ability to have what I need (and want lol) sent to my front door. Hope you're doing well!
ReplyDeleteI love Pooh and Piglet! And I've felt a lot of love lately and for that I am grateful. Love your fun post. Online shopping is FUN too! I wish I had some new movies. I should 'search'! lol
ReplyDeleteSo nice to read your answers.
ReplyDeleteLove Piglets words.
Happy early Hearts ♥️ Day to you Vee and how nice that your name has the "V" for Valentine's. Enjoyed reading your responses and agree that Piglet is very wise indeed.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading your answers to the Hodgepodge questions. I have to say I also prefer a home cooked meal to eating in a fancy restaurant, or even a non-fancy restaurant for that matter. Sometimes, though I do welcome the change of pace.
ReplyDeleteA LOVEly post, Vee. Always fun to see how people answer these questions. Your answer to number 1 spurred me on to order a Valentine gift through Amazon.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee~ Great answers! I also love Winnie the Pooh, he's so wise. I really like question and answer posts, it always shows me that we are all more alike than we are different from each other. Have a great Friday! Hugs, Barb
ReplyDeleteBecause I have the time, I'm copy-and-pasting the questions here w/my answers:
ReplyDelete1. Something you've done recently that might be considered a labor of love?
Helping somebody with his outdoor goals when I thought I was going to spend the morning inside, not getting muddy.
2. What's one thing you love about being the age you are now?
A relaxed schedule and not caring so much what others think -- just accountable to the Lord and my husband.
3. What do you value more: careful planning or the freedom to be spontaneous? Elaborate.
I'm somewhere in-between. As I age, I don't like surprises as much.
4. A home cooked meal or a fancy restaurant? pink or red? watch the sunrise or watch the sunset? wine and cheese or champagne and chocolate?
I'll take both a home-cooked meal AND a fancy restaurant!
watch the sunset
I like both pink and red and prefer to wear more pink than red.
Wine and cheese.
5. What's your definition of romance? Are you a 'romantic'?
Ah, I have been blessed with a huge amount of romance for the past year and I LOVE IT! chocolate and a mug of hot coffee before getting out of bed while listening to instrumental music, reaching out to caress and nuzzle at any time of the day, sweet words.... I could go on and on. Yes, I'm a romantic married to a romantic.

Hmmm. I may have given TMI with my answers but it was fun. Happy Valentines Day to you, Vee!
Vee, it is so good to see you here. I don't do the hodgepodge thing, but I'm glad others do. I love your piglet/Winnie the Pooh quote. Really sweet. I love home cooked meals when someone else does it! LOL. I enjoy eating out, but not fancy restaurants. I prefer ones we can afford to pay the bill. LOL. No wine with my cheese either, and I really don't do chocolate. Makes me sick, unless it is dark chocolate, and then I can eat a small piece. Sad, I know. I enjoy spontaneous when I don't have to be the planner. Seems like I have to plan everything and once in a while it would be nice to just show up and not have to plan. But I have found in life that as long as I do the planning, no one else will. So maybe I'll just stop and see how long it takes for others to decide they want to do something and then they will plan it and invite me for a change. LOL. I hope you have a beautiful weekend and Happy Valentines's Day. Jesus said to love one another...He didn't say anything about it having to be romantic. So there!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy a post from you, it brings smiles upon smiles to laughter, goodness knows we need more smiles and laughter these days!
ReplyDeleteI am still down but not out, hoping to be out and about next week.
Sendings lots of love to you.
Sue
(((((((Vee)))))))))) always a pleasure to see you post my friend. Wishing you a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteAw Vee - I love your hodgepodge answers and giggled at #5. Oh to be romantic again - right? Hugs to you and Happy Birthday (before month's end)!!!
ReplyDeleteOh and thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. You are a dear.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers. I shared a version of that scripture on my writers quote post last wednesday that is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers , Vee. I’d share some cheese and chocolate with you, and skip the wine and champagne. Happy Valentine’s Day. 💕
ReplyDeleteHi Vee~ Fun post! Thank you for your comment on my blog, it made me feel better ;0) I love Winnie the Pooh, and I love Piglet, perfect quote for Valentine's Day. We have never really done a lot of fluff for Valentine's Day, but I do love it when I get a beautiful bouquet of flowers...preferably red. Have a great week-end. Hugs, Barb
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your responses, Vee. Just reading this quickly before I'm off to make supper. Will have to ponder my own answers to those questions.
ReplyDeleteGreat questions and answers. These sort of blogs are fun.
ReplyDelete1. Something you've done recently that might be considered a labor of love? Finished an afghan that my mom started and never got to finish. I finished it off for my daugther at Christmas...so she has an afghan that her granny and mom worked on.
2. What's one thing you love about being the age you are now? Being able to know who I am ....took yrs to get to that point. Been here now for a lot of yrs but at 63 its nice to have. Being proud of who I am. And having the best of friends anyone can have.
3. What do you value more: careful planning or the freedom to be spontaneous? Elaborate. Both....I love that I can do, go and be able to plan or be able to be spontaneous when I want to. However, if its a big thing, planning is usually the best.
4. A home cooked meal or a fancy restaurant? pink or red? watch the sunrise or watch the sunset? wine and cheese or champagne and chocolate? That is a lot of questions in that one QUESTION! lol....I don't cook anymore, hardly ever, friends my age don't seem to want to do that either. So I am shooting for the restaurant. Red, never been the biggest of fan of pink. I perfer the sunset, mainly cause i have to get up early for the other! I am so not that early rising person. Wine and cheese works for me.
5. What's your definition of romance? Are you a 'romantic'? I used to be but I think that maybe it would take way too much work to be romantic for me these days. Romance is ~ the showing of love and affection. Doing things at the spur of the moment for that one person that means so much to you, something that would make them smile and laugh. Something that they would love. The look in their eyes as they look at you, that look that says you mean the world to them.Candlelight, fireplace glow, a meal cooked by you, a smile and that look.

ReplyDeleteOops, hit publish before I was ready.....ramdon thought. I am cold right now. I need to get up and do so much today and I hope you have a great day.
This was a fun post. I too love sunrises and sunsets, pink and red, and definitely homecooked all the way.
ReplyDeleteYou are so entertaining and truthful Vee, I love it! What a beautiful quote you shared, love sweet Piglet! It's always fun to see the questions and answers for these Hodgepodge question and answer sessions! Blessings to you :)
ReplyDeleteHowever eloquent we hope we may be, Pooh always says it best.
