Waiting for the Furniture

After over two weeks, I finally made it back to be with my father for the day yesterday. Good thing that I had thought ahead and taken his birthday gifts early because he celebrated another year in between. Storms! They cause problems.

You know what a trip to my sister's means: Pictures showing the progress on "the room."

That blue is growing on me and the floors are just gorgeous.

Many of my sister's plants are happily relocated. Now, when there are enough funds for furniture, perhaps my father will be happily relocated as well. He is looking forward to it!

Here he is just waiting for the furniture. He asked to be taken out there so he could see everything and so he could watch Grand Central Bird Station just beyond those windows.

  6. So beautiful! I love the color; our living room is blue also, maybe a bit lighter than hers. I also like the cedar (?) or shiplap (?) on the wall by the fireplace.

And it's for your father? I guess I missed that in previous editions. It's going to be such a lovely place for him to live :)

    1. No, it will be the new living room, which he will also enjoy. However, my sister and her husband did give up their new master bedroom and bath for our father. Yes, he's loved and blessed. Thanks for popping by.

  27. Those floors are gorgeous. I am not a blue fan so not sure that would ever grow on me, but it sure complements the floorinf nicely.

Your father looks very content tucked in the corner - who doesn't love to watch birds?

Had fun with the grand watching birds today - she said buh buh buh more than a few times, so this grandma thinks she'd genius, of course. You know anyone visiting Finch Rest likes those buh buhs an awful lot, right? : - )

  34. Stunning. Simply stunning.
I am sure that a lot of life will be lived in that room. No wonder your dad wanted to go ahead and get started. :)

Hope you're enjoying a little reprieve from the storms and all the work that entails!

  35. I'm loving this, Vee! It's sort of ironic...I've been embracing different shades of blue at the lakehouse as we furnish.

We have thunderstorms and snow on the way. Odd, wouldn't you say?

  42. Love the room...one of my clients wants a pallet wall like that. The windows are just wonderful to let the sun in and all of nature.

    1. This wall is more meaningful than a mere "pallet wall." This is reclaimed Penobscot river wood with lots of variations in color. My grandfather and great-grandfather were loggers who were "riders of the king log" in those drives of long ago. Thanks for stopping by, Janette!
