One Day More

Source

That's my big take-away from this stew we all find ourselves in.

I think a lot about food. These are my leftovers from a pizza Laurel brought me. Hope that she does that again!

Dwindling supplies weigh heavy on my mind...

The final pear

Last week, I washed walls and woodwork upstairs: this week I recovered from last week.

Ahhhh, bedtime, my favorite time of day...

Sorry, Dear One, I've been safe at home for three weeks and I've got precious little to share. My family are all home...safely, of course. I hope that you and yours are, too. God has been good to me. I am feeling well, in spite of being overdue for treatments. I'm trusting Him.

Now not everyone will be as amused as I have been by the little video below. It makes me laugh out loud. I am giving you fair warning because that sweet daddy proves to be a bit naughty. He just couldn't resist the urge to rhyme the word amok. See? Fair warning. I love to watch this as a little play...looking for each one's reactions and laughing like a woman who has been alone for three weeks. They are one talented family and I certainly hope that they continue thinking of videos to share to ward off insanity.

All the best! Praying for us all.

  1. I LOVE THIS FAMILY!!!! The poor mom, giggling. Hey, in concerns of shopping and my mil...they are totally inadept and can't do anything themselves-hence why were court ordered to take care of their needs. My husband wondered what will come of them if we have to move.

Of course, Sweet Vee, Maine is always on my mind...and folks are just as nutty there as they are here. smiles

Keeping you in prayer sweet friend.

  2. So glad to hear all is well...even though this is such an topsy-turvy world right now....may the good Lord bless us all...funny you share that bedtime is your favorite time of day...I feel the same!

  3. That pizza looks yummy. I am a little concerned for those dwindling supplies -- I see the bottom of that bowl! Your bed looks so inviting (I feel in need of an afternoon nap myself).

Wishing you a beautiful weekend...be safe under His mercy,

  4. We all amuse ourselves in different ways and there is some great creativity out there. Yum to the pizza! Sorry about the dwindling supplies in the bowl. Perhaps someone can make an emergency drop off for you!

Staying at home is the best place. I went out for groceries this morning and oh my, some people do NOT know how to physically distance themselves, or else they have a terrible problem with visualizing distances. I think we are good for the next two or even three weeks, and could go further, if needed, as far as the pantry goes.
It's a grey rainy day here, and I think of my daughter and her family at the graveside and how bleak that must be for them. I'm baking bread and will drop off a loaf later on their porch.
Stay well, Vee. I hope the delay in treatments is not harmful. "Underneath are the everlasting wings."

  5. Please continue to stay at home and stay well! I'm trying to get caught up on blogging and visiting blogs, I haven't been around much since December! Life is just flying by! Have a great weekend!

    Blessings,
    Jill

  6. That video was the best! That poor little British family. I wish I knew who they were. I would subscribe to their page.

If I were closer I would be dropping off some supplies for you. That bowl looks mighty empty. And only one pear.

    Take care and be safe.

  7. Great video!! :)
I've never cooked so much in my life. Sure do miss eating out once in a while.
Still Happy Trails is a great place if you have to stay home!!

  8. Happy to see a post pop up from you. Little did I know when I chose my motto for the year, "Use it up" that it would be so relevant. Your bed looks so inviting. Hoping the best for all of us!

  9. It has been interesting to see how people are getting through these days of social isolation. I like the way this family has come together to find a bit of humor in the situation. A very creative way to combat boredom. Thanks for sharing them with us.
I have thought about you so often and am pleased to know that you are doing well despite your delayed treatment. You continue to be in my prayers.

  10. Praying for you, too, Vee, and all your family...I love the video. That family is almost too creative! We are all well and have almost too much food! Alice goes every week and a half or two weeks. We could live for a few months though fresh produce and dairy would dwindle. So many people are in such a worse state. I saw a sad photo from a friend with a huge line of cars going to the food bank in Pittsburgh to get food. Our food bank works a little differently. They distribute the food to many agencies in the area which then give food to people...Be well! Stay safe!

  14. I saw this video the other day and it cracked me up too. We need some good ol' laughter medicine these days. A friend texted me this morning that she was going to the grocery store and did I need anything. I made up a little list, then gave her a check when she got here. It feels so good to have my pantry a little filled up again. It's been almost 5 weeks since I've been out off this property. She is an answer to prayer for doing this for me. I'm 71, she's 56 and she doesn't want me going out at all. So, I am puttering inside and outside. We're still having nice weather down here in s.e. FL. especially in the mornings.

Prayers for your health, and for your needs to be met. Love & hugs ~ FlowerLady

  16. I love the video!! How clever!
We are trying not to waster one bit of food! I bet Laurel will be making a delivery for you soon. Next week I will order groceries online for the first time. Yesterday was probably my last visit to a grocery store for awhile.
Hang in there, Vee! We are thinking of you!

  17. Copying Cathie’s Comment...

    Hi Vee,

It's so good to hear from you! I guess Rick thought we were running low on ice cream and he made a trip to the store yesterday. I've been making cloth masks for our family and delivering them into their mail boxes. I made cookies from an online recipe and gluten free pumpkin bread. We had a few good days to work in the yard doing cleanup and now it's cold again. By the end of this we may have gained quite a few pounds. Keeping you in my prayers that you can return to your treatments soon. Hugs, Cathie

  19. I so enjoyed listening to the British singing family, Vee! We all need some laughter, that’s for sure.
Pizza and candy for you.. what could be better? I love your faith and trust in your treatments, dear Vee.
Way to go on all that cleaning. Bedtime is my favorite time, too, and speaking of which, I’m off to get ready. I woke so early, and was busy with a Zoom book study with ladies from my church, and then sewing masks to give away. Bath and bedtime here I come....sweet dreams, Vee!

  20. Vee, I am trusting your family will be refilling your pantry soon. We were so happy to have finally found toilet tissue this morning along with a few other essentials. Your bed looks so inviting. Such a pretty floral spread.

  21. Always enjoy my visits with you so much Vee! Your sense of humor and love for the Lord are such a delight. Running low on chocolate is not a good thing... and that pizza sure did look good! I'm sorry to hear about the delay in your treatments, but I know your faithful trust is in the Lord, He is the Great Physician. I'm about to head to bed myself, your bed looks warm and cozy. I enjoyed the British family singing so very much! It amazes me how people are so creative, and what a little bit of time at home will bring out the creative in us all. I think that is the positive thing about this whole thing. Many blessings to you sweet friend!

  23. Oh dear Vee, what a smile you have brought to me this morning. To see you post was so nice. We have plenty for now but I did notice last night that I might be counting the rolls of TP very soon! Oh My! But girl, I still have some candy stashed! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  24. As always, you made me smile! Also snickering about that 'dwindling supply'. Let us know when your delivery arrives. I think food (important things like fruit and nut bars and red twizzlers)and that comfy bed are on all our minds a lot these days. Thinking of you often these days. Just know that you are not alone in your 'aloneness'! Thanks for sharing the video clip. We all need a laugh these days? Are you watching any of the 'pluto living' video clips? Who knew I would ever follow a dog on instagram? https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/montreal-dog-goes-viral-dispensing-humorous-advice-on-surviving-social-isolation-1.4874884

  28. -Well, I finally made it! Good to hear that you are getting by although you're getting a little low on chocolate...that's a tragedy! Is that pizza DiGiorno or delivery? It sure looks good! I have placed my first Walmart grocery order to be picked up tomorrow...we'll see how it goes. Just might be the thing to do if it works well. Want me to get you some chocolate?? Ah...and oh yes....and there's those pretty sheets on your oh-so-comfortable looking bed that you mentioned. Take good care, my friend!

  29. I've seen a different take on this--or maybe it's the same. How many families would do this? There is so much to see and read and take advantage of, I get mixed up and stop trying. Certainly not bored. I'm glad you are doing well but sorry the treatments have to be delayed. Same for other friends of mine. Take care of yourself ... and just be lazy!

    1. There are many versions of this same video, but they are a unique family and they don't look like anyone else nor do they sound like anyone else. ☺

"Lazy" is something I try to avoid at ALL costs.

Thanks for popping by. Always good to see you here.

  30. Hi Vee~

Heheheheh!! That was so cute! That family can't be bored if they can pull something off like that...very creative, thank you for sharing!

The pizza looked delicious, I love left over pizza! Your daughter must know you pretty well!

Sounds like you are keeping very busy, washing woodwork is HARD work, good thing you have those snickers to help you with energy you need for that ;0)

Blessings to you sweet friend, I'm so glad you are well and staying busy

    Hugs and Love,

  36. Hi Vee,

Oh such a funny video! They are a talented bunch, and I think the littlest girl is so cute. ;D We don't have anything very interesting to share over here either, Vee. We are eating too much and putting on the pounds -- our doctor is not going to be pleased.

I like the picture of your bed; the flowered duvet is so pretty. I think it all looks very restful and conducive to good sleep. Good for you doing your deep cleaning. It would take me a week to recover, too, and I haven't even been sick. ;>/ I almost forgot -- the pizza looks delish to me! The crust looks like just the kind I like -- maybe a bit crispy?

Thanks for sharing the video, Vee; I showed my husband and he got a kick out of it. I'm glad you're posting, and I'm going to try and do better about that myself. Take good care, dear friend!

    Hugs,

    Denise at Forest Manor

  39. That family in the video is creative. Oh that last pear, I really treasure fresh fruit now. I treated myself to a papaya yesterday, what fun. I squeeze lemon juice on it (I have a lemon tree) and some whipped cream. Be well.
