The last note card I'd like to say more about — I love Pilgrims and have not been able to find any similar to the turkey or pumpkin seen here. I think I need to send John into the wood carving business. ☺ Anyway, I discovered this representation of John and Priscilla Alden done by George H. Boughton who was a New Englander who was born in England in 1833, grew up in Albany, New York, and at some point returned to England for the rest of his life. He painted many images of Pilgrims and Puritans. I love them! You'll be seeing more here in a day or two. They are quite highly romanticized, I'm sure, as Boughton lived from 1833 – 1905. I like how George thinks for no one knows what John and Priscilla really looked like. I'm sure that they were beautiful people. ☺
I'm very excited about the party today and will be visiting once I'm not the first to comment. I always appear so eager. I am!
I love the Autumn blessings and can't wait to hear more. The first one with the colorful bowl of apples is beautiful, too! You know I'm always excited about the party....come and visit me first! heehee! And enjoy your happy day! Thanks for the fun...HUGS to you and John both!
ReplyDeleteOh I just love all of your notecards Vee. The first and last ones are my favourites. And my answer for the third one is "I wish I was there too!". Have a great week my friend. Hugs. Pam
ReplyDeleteIt looks like we were thinking in the same vein this month, Vee. And why not? Thanksgiving is such a wonderful holiday!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your note card pictures...but the last one stops me in my tracks. I love that picture of John and Priscilla Alden...such a treasure! I'll be looking forward to seeing more.
Back to school for me...I'll return later to check out the other note card entries. Thanks for hosting!
Being enthusiastic (eager) is one thing so endearing about you friend and creator and caretaker of the card party. Your notecards are lovely and would be good sending at this time of year especially. I like the last one the most, for I too love pilgrims. No surprise there. It stems back to all the pilgrim stuff in grade school.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that first photo! And in the second photo, what is that rack for? A turkey? I've never seen one like it. Thank you for hosting, Vee.
ReplyDeleteVee, OK...this is my first time for linking up...but where do I find the linky? All I see is your lovely card post and the comments? Sorry :(
ReplyDeleteThese are so sweet. Love that turkey! If you turn your back and then find it missing, you can probably blame sticky-fingers Marty, LOL. I'll link up in about 10 minutes, after my post is scheduled to be published. As always, thank you for being such a gracious hostess for this lovely party!
ReplyDeleteI love these seasonal cards. As you know, we celebrate Thanksgiving in October, but I always enjoy the repeated emphasis in November - after all, we should be thankful always. Your carvings are beautiful and really add so much character to your display.
ReplyDeleteAbout being first - someone has to do it! I never notice who is first to comment.
TOO seasonal? Impossible! Your notecards are wonderful. I especially like the sweet traditional feel of the last one. Thank you for hosting my favorite blog party!
ReplyDeleteI have that roasting rack and your dates look great! Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving Vee-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteVee, thanks for getting me linked in! I need to figure out how your link works before the next party... plus, I want to see and comment on what other's have shared...I'm not finding them :( Your Thanksgiving cards are so warm and comforting! I love this season so much as it brings back such wonderful family memories. Thanks again for your assistance and hosting such a fun party!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that it is not showing up for you. All of the gals who have commented, have participated. Hopefully, you can visit that way or by following them home if they comment on your post.
DeleteWhat beautiful notecards, dear Vee! They're all so perfect for November. Thank you for hosting and I'm happy to link up. Happy Thanksgiving blessings. xo
ReplyDeleteI want a set of these, Vee. They are all beautiful. Love them, and miss linking up. :(. xo
ReplyDeleteGee, I wish I was there too!
ReplyDeleteYour note cards are so nice with the quotes
matching your photos perfectly!
Thanks for hosting, Vee.
I'm always green with envy (sinful I know!) when I see everyone's Thanksgiving posts.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a wonderful celebration of family and I wish we had it here - but Christmas is our only family oriented holiday.
All your cards are lovely to send to family and friends to see what you're doing this year.
The Pilgrims are a lovely touch and focus for your Thanksgiving celebration - the early settlers in all countries paved the way for us all.
Thank you for hosting amidst all your business dear Vee!

Love your November Thanksgiving Note Cards, Vee. I think I missed the mark with the box top concept or whatever that was called....oye. But I'm happy to join in and look around at all the other entries for this month. Thank you for hosting...

ReplyDeleteLove your fall cards, Vee....and have I told you that this is one of my favorite parties...??? Well, it is. I have such fun, browsing thru my olden photos...and I find so many that I think would make good cards that I have several..well...16 to be exact, in draft. Gotta love it. :))
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for hosting....and making it all so much fun.

Hi Vee, and thank you for sponsoring this fun party! I feel you have no reason to apologize for posting Autumn! That's where we are right now. Love the first photo and I spotted beautiful Friendly Village in the third photo (plus some yummies). I enjoyed your notecards, and I always like this party Vee. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth~
DeleteOnly the Northern Hemisphere is in autumn and only the USA is in Thanksgiving mode, but you are correct, I should not apologize for where we are. I would not expect anyone to apologize for posting where he or she is!
I've missed joining in with your note card party! I love your theme and am so glad you are letting us use newer photos!
ReplyDeleteJust for you, Terri! ☺
DeleteHi sweet Vee! I love the photos you shared - perfect for note cards :) I hope you are doing well and enjoying your week. Hugs and blessings!

ReplyDeleteThanks for fixing my link Vee - that darned Mr. Linky and his magic was really messing with me today!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your cards - so bright and colorful. The last one is my favorite though - that's just how I like my turkey, inedible and still standing up, gobble gobble!
Happy week - thanks for hosting this fun party again.

He was being a bit of a bugger this time out. Hopefully, he's feeling more like himself today. (Four issues this time that I've counted so far.)
DeleteHello Vee…Best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving! Your note cards are made that much nicer with the addition of the wishes you have added. Thanks so much for drawing my name in your surprise giveaway last month. i enjoyed opening up the package and do appreciate your lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteI think your cards are just perfect for the season! I'd like to snatch one of those apples right now and munch away. I had such problems getting photos loaded on my post tonight that I didn't try to make a box cover. I should have planned ahead. Thanks for hosting such a fun party!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee. I'm a new follower. I haven't visited before but was invited to view your lovely party by Pamela. I love the last picture of the pilgrims and turkey. Simply perfect and I really love the first one also. I haven't anything to share this time but look forward to next month. It sounds like a very fun party. Please stop by my Cottage for a visit..Happy Tuesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteI will pop by soon and thank you for following. We'd love to have you join us!
DeleteHey, I made it!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos Vee. I love this time of year and I love the Pilgrim Story. Such deep conviction in their lives and purposes.
Thanks again for hosting! I'm heading out to check out the other gals cards!
Deanna
PS - I LOVE your header!
ReplyDeleteThanks. It's been here for weeks! LOL
DeleteI may have had a lemon linky this month as so many had troubles. I must say that Mr. Linky (Blenza) has a fabulous support system in place so, when I had troubles myself, it was handled quickly and efficiently. Oh that Blogger would have such a support system!
Thank you, Vee, for hosting this fun party! I think your note cards are so great for this wonderful season we are enjoying.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
LOVE them all! The colors, the different elements and the addition of your sentiments all came together to make this a lovely set of note cards for the Thanksgiving holiday. I particularly like the last one. The picture of John & Priscilla Alden is fabulous. I look forward to hearing more about it
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting! Can't wait to check out everyone's shots. Yours are LOVELY! The last is my favorite! Have a beautiful day, Vee!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee! Thanks for hosting and YES - love your seasonal images - especially your turkey and pilgrims. There is something so comforting in these colors and images that transport me to simpler childhood times. I'm so excited to be back in the swing of regular blogging and posting after a long transition in my work life and migration to WordPress which has presented me with a very sharp learning curve. However - I have learned so many new skills and your monthly Note-Card Party is a great place to share some of my folly and joy!
ReplyDeleteBlessings with a Grateful Heart!
Kathy
Yay! I finally made it. Oh, I don't think it's too seasonal, I think we all have it on our minds :) Beautiful photos and I wish I was there too :)
ReplyDeleteMy apologies in not following directions. I missed the request for a box cover… Sorry about that.
ReplyDeleteYou're fine! It's more of an option rather than a rule.
DeleteI love your fall post cards Vee. They have a wonderful old fashioned feel to them
ReplyDeleteLovely note cards you made for Thanksgiving!! : )
ReplyDeleteVee....the cards are amazing! Thanks so much for the inspiration and Happy Thanksgiving to you!
ReplyDeletekarianne
Happy Thanksgiving sista and thanks for the fun party.
ReplyDeleteI just looked through all of the cards posted so far. What great ideas and beautiful photography.
ReplyDeleteYour autumn background and header has been so delightful. I'm looking forward to your Christmas decorating!
Your Thanksgiving images are so lovely - so "warm" and comforting. That plate of goodies (stuffed dates?) has my mouth watering... Happy Thanksgiving, my friend!
ReplyDeleteHello Vee
ReplyDeleteI do love your blog very pretty . Your photos are lovely . I am here via Linda's blog Stitch Lines . I haven't done a note card blog party before and would like to join up for next time . Thanks for sharing and hosting . Have a good week !
Great seasonal notecards! I wish you had said something about your third one. I have some dates in the fridge...fresh from Palm Springs...and have been pondering how to serve them. Maybe stuffed with 'cream cheese'?
ReplyDeleteAs for you being first to comment...Elmer thinks you have been slipping in that category recently! :)
