The Fitful Gust
I love the fitful gust that shakes
The casement all the day
And from the mossy elm tree takes
The faded leaf away,
Twirling it by the window pane
With thousand others down the lane...
~John Clare

A blessed November to you...

I love the photos. The frame and font set it off perfectly. The leaves are flying here in a cold wind! Enjoy your afternoon, sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteSame here...the leaves are flying! Soon they will be all blown off the branches :( Your photos are so lovely!
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of leaves flying here too. LOL, I keep thinking I am seeing birds and they are just leaves. Lovely images and mosaic! Have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful -- shows how rich and deep the Autumn tones of November can be!
ReplyDeleteOdd one out, again. No flying leaves here...yet. Actually, growing a little impatient, (the Canadian side of me, that is), and am waiting for my 'cold and blustery day', as Winnie would say!!
ReplyDeleteYour lovely pictures and poem are what I have for now, Vee. Thank you!
Poppy
Beautiful poem and photos, they capture the season so well!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful picture to go with a lovely poem. : )
ReplyDeleteThe poem is quite fitting for the winds we've had recently. Many leaves have become trapped around the shrubs out the front and will offer a warm blanket when the snow flies.
ReplyDeleteGuess I better get practicing my layers too.
Judith
Beautiful poem. I love your layers Vee :)
ReplyDeleteHere's to a wonderful November .
Gorgeous pics...and John Clare is one of my favorite poets!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures Vee..our leaves are slowly turning...a few are falling....

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your last days of autumn, and have a lovely week.
Beautiful mosaic, Vee, and your header is lovely, too.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful November mosaic Vee.
ReplyDeleteInteresting pieces of paper and fibre weaved into the nest - they're such clever little architects!
I took photos in my garden today with my Samsung phone - it has some interesting effects available!
Getting ready for Donna's photo challenge!

You always find just the right verses!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your stability.
Beautiful mosaic, Vee!
ReplyDeleteHey Vee! Howdy from Texas! Just had to come by and see what's going on over here. I'm like your changes to your blog -- very professional-looking, I might say. I like this sheet music background and the soft autumn colors on your banner... reminds me of New England last fall. What fun!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm working on stability right now and thinking about the holiday season. I'm doing some paintings for gifts this year to save on gifts. I'm doing a rag quilt for my daughter, too. I'll show it after I give it to her. It's going to be so pretty - kinda cowboy colors with turquoise, brick red, gold, avocado, brown. Avocado is technically not a cowboy color, but I needed another color square...
This Thanksgiving season is sure meaning more to me than ever before with my sister being ill. It's amazing how the little things that used to bug the fire out of me just plain don't matter any more. I'm just so thankful for each and every day that she's with us. Of course, tomorrow isn't promised to any of us! I plan on savoring each second of the season that I have all my family members AND my sis still with me. Thanksgiving is going to be wonderful and humbling and every so heart-warming. I'll have all my family members here in Texas - happens only once a year and won't see some of them til next Thanksgiving. So we plan on enjoying the heck out of this one!
So I'm working on stability, and remembering each season and every day with my loved ones. Blogging has to take a back seat right now. I hope to be back soon! Hugs, my friend! Will send you an email update soon!

Still keeping up with your posts. The list by Brenda on celebrating Christmas and Thanksgiving is wonderful. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteLovely as always, Vee!
ReplyDeleteI love this November-y mosaic! I am always fascinated with the materials used in a nest, so I enjoyed seeing this close-up. (Oh, I need to hurry up and learn about textures! After my 31 days and then my mini hiatus, I am still playing catch up all over the place!)
ReplyDeleteBlessings on your own little hiatus...
Oh How Pretty!!!
