Merry On!
This is where I get off the bus. Time is of the essence. As is often the case, plans are a bit scrambled, frazzled, unraveling complicated (that's the word I'm looking for) by last-minute rearrangements, etc. True at your house, too? Really, a show of hands for anyone who has had some last-minute changes in plans. It will make me feel better.
My fond hope is that it will all work out. I don't want to meddle too much, just a little. John says, "Just allow it to play out." Men!
That's way too laid back for me!
☺
Until we meet on the other side of December 25th, may your Christmas be filled with all the joys that make Jesus more real to you. This is about a celebration not of gifts, decorations or even family. It's a celebration for Him. I am trying to remember this.
Merry On!
Raising my hand (!!) and wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteChristmas blessings to you and your family, Vee. I like your header pic.
ReplyDeleteBeth
Raising my hand too Vee. Wishing you and yours the merriest of Christmas's. Hope you have lots of time to rest, relax, put your feet up, and enjoy some treats. As always, I love your photos...
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Vee...yup I have to agree with your hubby, as the song says, "let it go, let it go", haha. Ya easy for me to say, I'm not in your shoes! But I do wish you peace and joy and may this Christmas season bring blessings upon blessings over you and your family!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Vee!
ReplyDeleteNO frazzling here, honest. Why? Everyone knows where we will be, what were doing, what were having etc, and they are more than welcome to join in. Period. We just don't allow ourselves to get "frazzled" etc. If they show up, fine, if not, plenty of leftovers etc. Just let it play out etc..agree with John. Blessings to you and John.
ReplyDeleteMERRY CHRISTMAS VEE!!
Hmm, something playing out here as of today. Glenn says to be thankful we didn't have 3 children...
ReplyDeleteI will be helping to serve dinner Christmas eve at our church for people that won't have a turkey dinner or elsewhere to go on the 25th.
Merry Christmas Vee and John.
Well said Vee, I am trying to stay focused on Jesus birth. Tonight and tomorrow I am performing in our church choir program and this will be joyful for me. I only have one person to buy for so I'm ready for next week.
ReplyDeleteAnn
Yep, have our "issues" over here too. Are any of us free of drama? Not too many with big families anyway I am thinking. Keeping our heads focused on what's important is certainly the key isn't it? Wishing you and yours the merriest of Christmas's and a New Year full of His richest blessings! HUGS
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Vee! Praying all the changes will end up becoming good ones!
ReplyDeleteYes, last minute changes are the norm aren't they? Everything will work out in the end, Merry Christmas and many blessings this week to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteSo far no trauma drama here! IF it does happen - I have learned to roll with the punches and to say, "It is what it is!" Don't let anyone steal your joy!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas - no matter what!!
I have learned to hold all MY plans lightly in my hands, it's easier that way when it all goes wonky. Emma arrived home safe and mostly sound ;). She is relieved to be on break!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and yours!
Deanna
Merry Christmas!! Hugs to you and all of yours. May all unexpected stuff become the blessings we hope for.
ReplyDeleteA celebration for Him, I will keep that in mind. Little things and big things may not go smoothly but thinking of Him makes it all ok. Merry Christmas blog friend.
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures, the beauty of your home and that you are remembering to keep the celebration focused on the real reason for Christmas. . .the gift of Christ. Knowing you is a gift to me. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSince we don't have any family living near, Ken and I are really very laid back and just enjoying the season.
ReplyDeleteFocus on Jesus and church.
BTW - Ken led a woman to Jesus this morning. : ) Isn't that a great thing to put you in the festive mood.
A very Merry Christmas to you and John and your whole family.
It will all get done and if it doesn't it just wasn't meant to be!
Merry Christmas! I have almost nothing done for Christmas but you are right. It's not about the decorating and gifts, but about our Lord Jesus. May you have a blessed time full of His love.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how it happened, but gifts are wrapped, and I'm actually doing some baking and prep for Christmas Eve. Whew!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas blessings to you, Vee!
Merry on Vee! I hope all works out for you and that you are able to totally relax and enjoy. That jar of cookies looks rather inviting. You should take a pic of it when you return ---- empty! Merry Christmas to you and John and your families. Love and hugs.
ReplyDeletePam
My wish for everyone is a peaceful, joyous Christmas Day! I think you look as if you are ready with those elgant looking cookies and centerpiece! Blessings to you Vee!
ReplyDeleteMy bus is rolling to a stop here soon, too. Vee. God bless you and your family as the week winds towards Christmas. xoDiana
ReplyDeleteI don't even have a plan this year. Someone may call and include me in theirs. But as of now I have no plan and am right on time. Hope yours go well in spite of your concerns. Best of wishes to you for a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteNo plans for me this year and very minimal decor. I am focusing on small good deeds and hope to get past December 25th quickly. Sister and I will celebrate quietly
ReplyDeleteYou have a very Merry and blessed Christmas with your family my dear.
Merry Christmas, Vee! I loved seeing your jar pf butter spritz cookies. My favorites! You know what I have learned, it is the change of plans that makes the memories!! Cannot wait to hear what memories you will make this week.
ReplyDeleteVee, I think men are more laid back than women at Christmas. I think it's because when it comes down to it...we do the most work. The cleaning, planning, cooking, gift buying and wrapping. Oh yes, it can be stressful. I pray it all goes smoothly for you Vee. Merry Christmas to all of you, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteAs you said, Vee, it's all about Christ birth!
ReplyDeleteMay you and John have a Blessed Christmas wherever you find yourselves.
We will Merry on out here. God bless you as you celebrate this amazing historical event that brought our God to earth! Our Christmas got a bit more exciting as our son Daniel asked his girlfriend Jamie to marry him so now we are in the throws of planning a June 2015 wedding!! God is good...
ReplyDeleteThis, I love: "This is about a celebration not of gifts, decorations or even family. It's a celebration for Him. I am trying to remember this." Yes! May I remember it too!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you, dear friend!
Happy Christmas to you and your family Vee.
ReplyDeleteBlessings for the coming year.
Hugs - Mary
Wishing you a love-filled Christmas whatever the plans might be. Your home looks beautiful, Vee, and your baking is done....enjoy these last few days and don't sweat the small stuff. It will all too soon be over. As you said, it is not about us...it is about Him!
ReplyDeleteMy comments have not been showing up and I figured out why. I accidentally logged out of the Google Account in "Comment as". Must be more careful in the future!
ReplyDeleteLove the cookies in the jar like that. I may just have to steal it to use as part of my gift basket to my daughter's parents. One item I'm including is Jewel Cookies and they are small and rather fragile.
Have a very merry Christmas! I'm beginning my annual Christmas soon.
That should be "annual Christmas break" soon. See, my brain needs a rest. :)
DeleteMerry Christmas Vee! Love the pitcher with the fresh greens- so simple and pretty. I'll be taking a break soon too. See you after Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look delicious! Enjoy your time!
ReplyDeleteI'm picturing you at a bus stop. May your celebrations be for Him, and filled with joy because of what He came to do! Blessings this Christmas!
ReplyDeleteLove those cookies in the jar. So festive. I wish you a very Merry On too. As we draw near to One we celebrate this week.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Brenda

Your husband sounds exactly like mine, and as much as I hate to admit it and it goes against the grain (my grain!), he's right.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking deep breaths and remembering I'm not in charge of everything -- as if I ever was!
Blessings to you in the name of our Savior, who is worth our time and attention, more than anything else!
Love, Deborah
Merry Christmas to you and your family! I'm done with everything and refuse to add anything else. It's time for me to soak in the magic and meaning of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas sweet friend!
Hugs,
Barb
Merry Christmas, Vee! I look forward to seeing you in 2015. I promise you'll see a lot more of me.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
I hope you have a wonderful holiday week...and things fall into place! Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteIt's not always easy to put things in the proper perspective during this season! Wishing you a wonderful Christmas as you celebrate with your family...whether it is Plan A or Plab B or whatever. May He be adored and glorified!
ReplyDeleteOh Vee - my hand is up over here!! I truly am trying to "let things play out" and God bless you and all your commenters for the encouragement. Maybe it's as simple as cutting down on my coffee consumption - ha! Trying to stay calm and carrying on. Huge hugs to you and your family - Jesus is the reason for this season indeed!
ReplyDeleteRaising my hand, too. Lots to do and just checking blogs here and there throughout the day (not reading most of them). Christmas joy, peace, love and hope to you and John, Vee.
ReplyDeleteOh Vee... I can so relate to unexpected plans. I sometimes just do it to myself by inviting people over for dinner, both yesterday and today. It seems Christmas is too quick by the time we finally get there and I want to pack it with all the wonderful friends and family I can. The most important thing is remembering why we celebrate. Wishing you a blessed Christmas Vee!
ReplyDeleteI'm writing this just to take you away from whatever it was you were doing. LOL Not really. I wanted to wish you and yours a wonderful and blessed Christmas, Vee!
ReplyDeleteHave a very Merry Christmas, dear Vee! You are a joy and blessing to the blogging community. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteI almost wish we had plans to get messed up. Family is ... well ... you know. So, it's just me and Steve this year. But that's OK. I've got good movies on DVD and scrumptious food to eat. Who could ask for anything more? Hope your holidays are happy, bright, merry, and full of good cheer.
ReplyDeleteSending y'all happy wishes from SE Georgia. Merry CHRISTmas! ~:)
It sounds a little familiar...been there and done that...even have the t-shirt and the bumper sticker...lol! Sometimes a change of plans can be the biggest blessing! Merry Christmas to you and your family, Vee :)
ReplyDeleteVee have a very wonderful Christmas. Those cookies look so good. It's a good thing I don't live next store. LOL Ho ho ho and all that good cheer.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, it's all about Jesus. I need to remember that when I get so frazzled. Merry Christmas! Hope your day turns out just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Vee...and John..
ReplyDeleteLove, Mona
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Vee! I have the flu so Christmas will be delayed for us this year.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and yours, Vee!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your loved ones Vee.
ReplyDeleteHi, Vee...I see all the mosaics of the whole entire year others are doing and it wears me out. I would like to do one but it will be after the first, I think. Too tired to even think of it.
ReplyDeleteHope all was merry there...t'was here...and blessed we are feeling tonight.
xo
