Gathering a Year~2014

Twenty-fourteen will probably go down as *The Year of the Luge. The sledding is what sticks out in my mind anyway. The year might also stick in memory as the one of Never~Ending Winter, but that is not such a pleasant think. Some of these photos I have shown before; some I just planned to show you and never did. One should never confuse my "random" with "organization."
The following posts are not necessarily my favorites, though they provide a good overview. You are in no way expected to wade through them. This is meant for my benefit because this here blog is getting too big to handle. A review of the year is a good way to break things down to bite-sized bits. Do you do a year in review? I want to see it!

January — Epiphany
February — Valentine's Day
March — Yakkety-Yak
April — Gathering the Moments~April
May — A Little Schoolbus Story
June — Idyllic Afternoon
July — Portraits
August — At the Lake
September — Hello
October — Zip — No posts in October
November — My Pilgrim Story
December — Merry Christmas

*(I understand that many of you think it goes down as the Year of the Potato. Right. Whatever would give one that idea?)

Linking to *Cheryl's Gathering the Moments at Thinking About Home.* What a great idea she had to invite us to join her. She gathers her moments at the end of every month and continues to invite us to do the same, though this is the final opportunity to link. Like many of us, she is simplifying. ☺

  4. Oh Vee, the year of the potato deserves merit and a beautiful photo op too! LOL Love your mosaic and I noticed a sweet black and white photo in the bottom row that you mentioned but I don't remember seeing posted. Is that you and a sister in it? Sure is cute. Its been quite a year. Here's to a fresh start and many blessings in the coming year. Hugs. Pam

    1. Gosh, you have a good memory. Yes, that's my little and only sister and myself. We were waking at Nan's home and it looks as if we were pleased or awed by what we were seeing.

  5. 2014 was full of color if one gives an over-glance to your mosaic! Full of good things, and I'm sure some hard things. The spud photo is great! Wishing you a wonderful even better 2015.

  7. I always enjoy reading your posts, Vee, and I'm looking forward to your writing in 2015.
I'm afraid, at least to me, that the potato is overshadowed (no pun intended) by the lovely shadows across the snow in that last photo. Pretty collage, too.
Wishing you a wonderful 2015....with a milder winter!

  10. Love the collage and I had forgotten what a bad winter it was for some last year. How could I forget? lol! I was laughing when you said it was the year of the potato. I thought, how did she know that I have been holding hot potatoes on my eyelids? lol! I had my drooping eye lids operated on a couple weeks ago and it suggested holding microwaved potatoes to them on day three. Worked very well. Hee-hee! Love your potato shot! Happy New Year!
    hugs,
    Jann

  12. I like the idea of creating this gathering of photos each month and the year in posts for a year end wrap up. I've not done that yet, but maybe 2015 might present the time and space to gather the moments in small bundles.

Wishing you a beautiful evening and a lovely year ahead.

  18. I well remember the luge and all the fun your grands had during the winter-that-hung-around-too-long. Just the other day I was in the grocery store produce section and your potato saga came to mind. Glad that ended well!
I went over my photos for the past year - it's amazing to see how much happens in a year. And now there's another one ahead to fill with moments of grace and beauty and love. Wishing you all of God's best in 2015!

  19. I am nodding my head at the luge ("yes, I remember!)...and at the unending winter ("boy, do I remember that!)...and then I got to the potato and I laughed out loud! :D And your potato photo is fabulous!

Thanks so much for "gathering" with me this past year, for joining me in looking back to see what God has done in our lives! Thank you, too, for your kind words, friend! A blessed New Year to you and John!

  24. I must admit to wondering about those potatoes more than once. Your last photo cracks me up.
Your collage is such a lovely way to remember the year that was. I do hope your little guys are able to enjoy the luge once again, although I hope the winter doesn't last quite as long.
Wishing you and John a very Happy New Year!
