Christmas Eve 2016

After some lovely company today, the house is quiet except for the ticking of the clocks and the crackling of the fake fire. It is Christmas pretty (not perfect) with candles glowing, the lit tree, the wee village cheery, and the carolers singing. It's a foggy night so the fence lights do not cast their light farther than a few feet. Christmas cards from far and near surround me. My heart is full even if it feels heavy sometimes. Everything that has needed doing has been done, until tomorrow comes.
