Now that I am looking as awful interesting as I have ever looked in my life...well, maybe that poodle cut was pretty bad...I thought that I'd share some beauty tips. Bwahahahahahaha... I do crack myself up!
I believe that I said I'd never share "bald me" and then promptly went on to create that profile picture of myself with a handkerchief tied around my head. Oh my. Guess it was a near promise. Hair...don't have much and am feeling pretty naked. Eyebrows grow more sparse daily. Eyelashes are a thing of the past. This is a huge problem not only because I look funny, but because stuff is always getting into my eyes. You would not believe how much those eyelashes of yours are protecting you!
So what's a gal to do? I'll tell you what I did...I headed directly for You Tube where I found two videos that I especially enjoyed. I'm not going to embed them, but I will link to them. The first has great directions for eye makeup when one is challenged. The young lady doing this has such a chipper attitude in the face of alopecia. I think she's beautiful.

The second is a woman in her 70s who looks fabulous by the end of her video, yet who looked 90 (if a day) when she began. I learned some good things from her and I enjoyed her ongoing chatter even when I didn't agree with a thing she was sharing.

Want to share a couple of sunshine packages that I received in recent days. One is from Judy at My Front Porch and the other is from Cindy at Creations by Cindy If you have never visited these wonderful bloggers, you'll find that they have things in common. They both love the Lord and they both share their beautiful families often.
These were delicious! (Even the poo poo pile.) |
Thank you so much, Judy. You brought me many smiles and two yellow smiley face balloons are still hanging in here with me.
Cindy tells me that she has taught this Bible Study. I am planning to read it since I can read it slowly taking my time. I haven't done homework in a very long time.
Thank you, Cindy. It was so thoughtful of you to think of me.
A Marriage of Gifts...Judy's Chamomile Tea ran off and married Cindy's mug! Oh and thanks to Michele from The Nest at Finch Rest who has me hanging around in an English Garden daily thanks to her gift from Jacquie Lawson. No matter what, I seem to be able to plant a flower or two. I could not believe it when I reached into my cupboard for my saucepan...I wanted to boil up a potato...and the pan felt heavy. Sure enough! Hidden under the lid was my Air Fryer pan. I have the feeling some prayers were said for it to turn up so soon. It's a full day of appointments and I have been invited out for supper so I will catch you later. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day... |
I have had major hair loss since I was 13 and have very little eyebrows right now. I am going to check out that video! Glad you found your pan. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful and I'm glad you shared your profile pic. I love your new banner too. Enjoy your pretty things. We've all made some wonderful friends through blogging. Hope your day is a good one! Lots of hugs!
ReplyDeleteAs I read this post I see God's gifts. The gift of help and encouragement through the YouTube videos. The gifts of friendship and love through the tangible gifts of cheer. The gift of the return of your air fryer pan. The gift of you who so many of us love. The gift of your being able to connect with us and share some good, even as you are walking this road of illness. The gift of the faithfulness of God. You are demonstrating that He is trustworthy.
ReplyDeleteHugs and prayers again today . . .
Hooray for finding that pan in such short order. No doubt many prayers helped the process. Lovely gifts and cards from your blog friends. I know it can't be easy to go through the hair loss. You have given me a new appreciation for eyelashes. I took a peek at the YouTube videos. Amazing how real the first gal made her eyebrows look.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that supper tonight. Hugs!!
Morning, I loved what Judy wrote in her card, so glad you received some Happy Mail... Missing things drive us crazy LOL Praying for you!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Roxy
Been there, done that on what you are going thru. I am keeping in prayer, sweet friend. I am so glad you received mail, smiles.
ReplyDeleteVee, you are amazing (and I don't use that word lightly)! Sharing your experience here is encouraging to all, whether we're currently coping with illness or will be at some point.
ReplyDeleteOh what thoughtful and useful gifts you received from these precious ladies. And thanks for the update on that air fryer pan...I was thinking about that just yesterday when I my eyes happened to fall upon my own and hoping that it had turned up. And I must say, I love your upbeat attitude about your "changing" looks... and I adore the new profile pic on your blog! I do pray that your appointments go well today and enjoy that supper! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou can do all things in Christ who strengthens you! Oh, Vee, you are truly an inspiration with your tough and humorous attitude...And I am so glad your air fryer pan turned up!!!
ReplyDeleteI am always so happy to see a post from you, dear Vee, you always bring a smile no matter what the circumstance. I am so happy you found the air fryer, Just yesterday, I was looking for my colander which was misplaced by some helping hand, instead of getting frustrated I was laughing, and wanting to call you and share! ~smile~
ReplyDeleteYour gifts of love are so lovely, enjoy and be blessed. Thank you for the links, I am going there for sure, I need all the help I can get.
sending you love, prayers and thoughts.
Sue
What a joy to visit and read your upbeat post. Loved the profile picture, I found it so encouraging for others facing challenging health. Those gifts from thoughtful bloggers and friends were a delight. You truly are an inspiration, take care.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your lovely, thoughtful gifts that you received, Vee. Also, I appreciate you taking the time to let us know how you are doing, and what is happening in your life. You are an encouragement to all of us.
ReplyDeleteLove and God bless you. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
What an array of sun shiny gifts to encourage. I'm so glad you found some helpful videos. When we stop and think of the wonderment of the human body God created, every single thing serves a purpose, right down to our eyelashes. Being without them, I'm sure it didn't take you long to figure out their purpose. I'm so so glad you found your missing pan. God cares about all the details of our lives. ~ Abby
ReplyDeleteVee, you are truly loved by many! I'm so glad you have found comfort in so many places as you walk through this time. You are an inspiration to many, my friend. Keeping you always in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the fry pan has been found!
ReplyDeleteDelightful blog post, Vee. I clicked on all of the links and my goodness, those eyebrows are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! And the second lady did a mighty fine job of fixing herself up, too. We should all be encouraged!
Keeping you in my prayers.
You keep fightin the fight, sweet friend. Happy on all counts - and hope you enjoyed dinner out.
ReplyDeleteGoing to go check out those vids.
God bless - big hugs - love and prayers!
I was here earlier yesterday but my comment didn't take.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know you found your air fryer pan! Love you and am always SO happy when I see an update post!! Now I'm off to check on that 70 year old woman makeover! I need all the help I can get!
You are beautiful just as you are.
ReplyDeletewww.rsrue.blogspot.com
So glad you found that air fryer.
ReplyDeleteI was one of the ones who prayed you'd find it. :)
Hang in there my friend.
God bless you.
Continuing to think of you and pray for your health. Your sense of humor and your faith shine through your posts and thank you for continuing to post. You have many caring friends in the blog community!
ReplyDeleteJudy is a gem for sure. Who knew all the help you can get via youtube. Dear can even understand them. I would end up looking worse after trying to make myself up. I continue to pray for you in the wee hours when God wakes me up to pray. Praying for widows and the unbelievers are my most consistent prayers.
ReplyDeleteJust watched those beauty tip videos! Oh, my. I spend about 3 minutes getting ready, which is (after shower and tooth brushing) brushing my hair and smoothing my eyebrows. I'm probably lucky my hair is easy to do and short. I did use makeup when I was young, getting the effect that my mother said made my eyes look like "two burnt holes in a blanket", but my husband didn't care for make-up. I do use a moisturizer every day. I was fascinated by the way that young woman did her eyebrows. The effect was really very natural. Be well, Vee. Sending prayers your way!
ReplyDeleteour blogging friends never cease to amaze me...so caring and generous...i'm glad you found ways to make you happy with makeup..it's good for our spirits to feel we look nice...i hear little boy laughter at the pool...i have orange cup cakes for them so i.d better get out there...xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo glad the air fryer appeared. Eyelashes are very useful things. What joy to receive care packages just now.
ReplyDeleteI loved watching both videos and enjoyed their makeup suggestions and tips, Vee! Thanks so much for sharing them. What sweet and thoughtful gifts from your friends. A little encouragement goes a long way ♥ Stay positive!
ReplyDeletePrayers to you dear Vee. I am glad you can find some humor and joy....never give up. My daughter cried when she lost her hair and now it's as thick as it ever was. Teddy is getting his hair back now...looks like a baby bird. Blessings and hugs, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteAwe Vee, your profile picture is beautiful as you are a very beautiful woman! So glad you are enjoying your gifts. I hope that you are encouraged by our Lord during this journey of your life. So glad you found your air fryer. I am thinking about getting me one. I am going to watch those videos too. I am curious about the eyebrows! A dear friend of mine that battled breast cancer said that she hated loosing her eyelashes worse than her hair! Praying for you dear Vee and asking our Lord to keep you so very close to Him. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray for you, dear Vee. Your attitude is such a wonderful testimony to all of us. You are going through this trial with such grace, and I know it is His grace that's enabling you to do so. So very thankful to hear that you found your air fryer pan!!
ReplyDelete♥ ♥ ♥ huggies ♥ ♥ ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet and wonderful gifts, Vee! I'm sure they gave you both smiles and comfort. Your profile photo is beautiful. I've heard the "after" chemo hair growth can be a pleasant surprise as some people get curly hair, which they never had before, or a new color.
ReplyDeleteI had surgery for my cancer, years ago, and then it has been handled by suppression with medication. My endocrinologist told me I was "cured" on my last visit--I told him I thought I was cured years ago...lol Fortunately, V's cancer is being eradicated by CyberKnife radiation--a modern miracle for his type of cancer. Chemo is harder to go through but it sounds like Jesus is with you and carrying you when you need his strength to help you through it. I am keeping you in my prayers every day. I'm going to watch the makeup videos later--I've been drawing on my eyebrows for years--mine are almost non existent.
Oh Vee - I love this post. Your humour and your positive attitude are inspiring! The fake eyebrows will make you look absolutely on trend these days!! The smiles and treats that you are receiving are all so well deserved. Praying for you as you endure these days of treatment! May you keep strong and positive.
ReplyDeleteFirst off...love your profile pic! And like others have said...love your sense of humour! Thank-you for sharing Cindy's link. I have never been to her blog before, and she is now on my sidebar! So glad you found your missing air pan. (What is an air pan? I must google that.) Hubby is missing his wallet right now, and has pretty much given up on ever finding it, after 'walking backwards through his mind' for the past week. I'm hoping it will still turn up...maybe in a suacepan! :) You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers, Vee. BTW...how was the Coffee Crisp?
ReplyDelete
DeleteI tried eating it too soon, which didn’t work. So I saved it for a better day when it was almost perfect. Prolly should have been more patient, but it is a challenge with a Coffee Crisp in the house! 🤪
I lost the pan to my Air Fryer. Finding it has made all the difference! I adore my Air Fryer and make most of my meals in it.
Hope Elmer’s wallet shows up! Definitely, a matter for prayer!
My eyebrows disappeared years ago. Such thoughtful and cheerful gifts/notes from blog friends. I appreciate the links you shared. God bless your evening. xo
ReplyDeleteDear Vee you are a sweet spark of joy and encouragement. I've not lost my brows for any health reason except through aging and losing their color and not as full as they once were, so watching that young lady's video on making her lovely brows was amazing and inspiring. The lady in her 70's (I'm 70) is a hoot and what a difference from her normal to her made up face. I never wore makeup until the last few years dealing with covering up adult acne. Never had acne except once a month my whole life.
ReplyDeleteI think you are a lovely woman inside and out and I pray God's continued blessings on you. You are a light of God's love to all of us & your faith is encouraging.
Love, hugs & prayers ~ FlowerLady
