~Moon in the Morning Mists~
So, and this is the truth, my friend, I was planning to show you my new, cheap, kitchen light right from Lowe's. I spent yesterday afternoon getting the kitchen to sparkle, though it simply is not possible. It was the old trying to make a purse from a sow's ear story. What a dilemma! Anyway, perhaps if I have more time to come up with a better angle today, by tomorrow, I'll have something to share.
In the meantime, may I show you this photo of John taken four years ago last summer at the Norman Rockwell Museum. (Even I see the amusement in this. All my photos of the Museum are of John...hahahahahhaha) We were on our wedding trip. We have not yet returned to Vermont and Western Massachusetts, but we send everyone who would like to go!
If you'd like to go, please visit Vickie at Sand Flat Farm for her Norman Rockwell /Mystic, Connecticut Day and her Cape Cod/Nantucket Day. You'll enjoy the amazing photos and they're not all of Tony!
What a great picture of John! It's apparent that he's a very happy person.
ReplyDeleteYou woke to a beautiful view. How lovely to have trees, but to have the moon shining through them to greet you this morning is extra nice.
What a wonderful morning moon shot Vee! I love this picture of John. He just radiates happiness.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that the moon was full, huge and beautiful when it came up last night and also knew that any photo I took would end up blurry, so I just enjoyed it for awhile through the window. John looks very handsome and Rockwell-esque.
ReplyDeleteDeb
That is a magnificent "moon through the mist and the trees" photo!!!!!!!! I applaud you!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh! I too, keep telling myself, to take my camera up to bed with me! Because some early mornings, there is a very lovely tiny-bit-of-sunrise showing, out my window. Have I taken it up yet??? NOOOOOOOOO!
Now I read you say, the same thing. -giggggles-
We couldn't make-this-stuff-up, if we tried. Really... :-)
Good thinking to run and get your camera Vee, the photo has a real spooky look to it.
ReplyDeleteNice photo of John and a nice place to go for a wedding trip.
Judith
And another laugh...... "No kitchen-sparkling-shots yet." Silly girl. Stop with the need-sparkling-shots business.
ReplyDeleteIF I clean up any food specks first, my counter happens to look reflective, in pics. Big deal! Every kitchen counter does not have to look reflective. Come on!
No more of this pressure! Show us the new light, all lit up and glowing with brightness and etc. Stop with the need-sparkle-stuff.
"Auntie" sezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
:-)
Norman Rockwell is my hero! I am a "graduate" of The Famous Artist School founded by him (and others). One of my favorite pieces is the one he did for the United Nations...I could have stared at that for hours if they didn't move us along on the tour! One day, I'm going to go to the museum when I'm out visiting a dear friend in Old Saybrook.
ReplyDeleteLove the moon photo. Today is our granddaughter's 4th birthday and every night when I talk to her, she always asks, "do you see my moon, Mimi?" "Yes, my sweet girl, I see your moon!" XOXO
I know what you mean about the getting out of bed quick thing. I swear, I resemble that Tim Conway skit from the Carol Burnett show (the one where he plays an old man that shuffles along at a snails pace) than myself from even a couple of years ago.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful picture. I really love pictures of the sky and moon. Lovely.
((Hugs))
Laura
Good morning! Oh my goodness, what a wonderful picture! And that's a happy hubby if I have ever seen one! ; ) Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteNice photo. One cool thing in life is that we all look at the same moon, the world over. We were looking at it last night as we were coming home and I wondered about my old workplace ... you know, the babies. Busy I'm sure. Times like looking at the moon make me miss the old place. The other day at the docs I found myself staring at a little baby. I wanted to go right up and gather the baby in my arms. I could hardly help myself ... and I know the mother got nervous at this older woman staring at her kid, so I tried very hard to look away. But it made me realize how much I miss the babes.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks for the props, Vee. That is a great picture of John! I'm not sure what that fellow in the background is doing tho... :) Well, finally got through with all the vaca pics, so will have to come up with something else to blog about! How 'bout a post about your little goodies you gave me!!!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous moon picture. I saw it this morning, too - pretty awesome to see in the a.m.! Have a good 'un...
Your photo is so lovely...all misty and mysterious and softly glowing with the promise of a new day...
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your description of the getting-out-of-bed part! It sounded so familiar! (Have I told you that the farmhouse has no upstairs bathroom?!!! You can imagine that my hobbling down the stairs is quite the concentrated effort in the morning. I know...TMI. Sorry to you and to anyone else who happens to read this commment.)
Maybe we'll see that light tomorrow. I know I'd hesitate to give anyone a peek at my kitchen this morning. We are still in the throes of Christmas decorating and the entire house is in shambles.
Love the picture of John! And love the fact that all your wedding trip pictures included him!
I wish I'd taken a photo of the moon the other night, as mine would have mirrored yours. I turned out all the lights in the kitchen so that we could get the full effect of the light through the mist and the trees. I'm so delighted - touched, even - that we've seen the same sight.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed the beautiful moon last night...Benjamin shouted, "look at that full moon!" Oh I will have to visit Vicki again I am loving her trip I have never been to those places...and Norman Rockwell Museum..oh my!
ReplyDeleteYour moon is beautiful. I laughed at your description of getting the camera, you have such a cute way of describing things...
ReplyDeleteHubby at the museum, makes sense to me. :) Cute Vee, keep 'em coming!
What a beautiful morning you woke up to and you captured it for us all. Your husband looks so happy, but what is going on in the background of that photo?
ReplyDeleteThe gardener is praying. ☺
DeleteI was up yesterday morning chasing that moon but just too many light in the city to get a photo of it. Your's is beautiful. Especially through that trees.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos :) But I have to ask, what in the world is the guy doing in the background of the photo of John? It looks like he's laying his head on a rock.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yes, it does! He's the gardener and he was weeding that day.
DeleteWhat a beautiful picture of the dawn moon Vee!!! It looks so calm and lovely. You have me laughing out loud at your descriptions - you are too funny! I have to remember that one about the sow's ear. The picture of your groom is delightful and that museum is on our bucket list for sure! Must check out your links to Sand Flat Farm.....
ReplyDeleteNice photos! Your John is a handsome guy and looks very happy.
ReplyDeleteA sparkling kitchen? What's that?
Our mornings have been similar around here! Love that photo of John!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful view to awaken to!
ReplyDeleteYes, it truly was...
DeleteSay, I've been wondering. What is an "Optimistic Existentialist"?
How fun to think that we all looked at the same moon, although this morning, the only sky to be seen is dark grey. Your photo is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJohn looks so happy. I love that you called it your wedding trip. Sounds much more elegant and old fashioned than honeymoon, although I don't object to that word at all.
I was gonna ask what the heck that guy in the background was doing kissing a rock,,,, ha ha.... but I see your reply from above... how funny.
ReplyDeleteI want to live in Maine so badly... I think of you often and wonder what the weather is like today up there... I am looking forward to outdoor pictures on your blog, as the winter rolls around so I can watch from the southwest and drool. Our temp today.........a whoping 78 degree....
ReplyDeleteYou did well with the picture of the moon. Great picture!!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice picture of John. : )
Stunning photo Vee! Nothing like a pretty misty morning. Great picture of John too!
ReplyDeleteOur local weatherman showed a picture of this morning's moon, too. It was still fairly high over campus after the sun came up.
ReplyDeleteI missed it (and the lunar eclipse earlier this week). :(
That photo of the moon is fantastic. Sorry I missed it, but probably too much cloud cover and pollution here to see it :( Great photo of John, too, and the fellow in the background, at first I thought he was praying until I read your response to another comment. xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous wedding trip and John has a great smile! I love your moon shot. We are having cold mornings but afternoon highs in the 70's. Hope you enjoy the rest of the day.
ReplyDeleteI love your moon shot Vee! And that is a great picture of John too. I am following Vickie's blog and enjoying her photos of her New England trip. Have a nice evening.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo all cool and misty very cooling at this moment, I'm looking out my window at the moment the sun is out in full glory at 8am in the morning,we are in the middle of a heatwave here.
ReplyDeleteMerle........
Thst is one pretty shot to wake up to. I love it when nature offers something fresh and interesting to capture.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of the moon and your happy hubby! Of course I saw the comments and had to go back and see the man in the background. Interesting! lol
ReplyDeleteI'd like to go...one day! I think I'll call this your 'honey-moon' post...the one with your honey and the moon! I'm glad to see he is still smiling...whenever you post his picture.
ReplyDeleteJohn looked so happy on your honeymoon, Vee!
ReplyDeleteDid you know that Jupiter is very close to the moon this week? The Farmers Almanac web site told me so :)
I'd love to see the Rockwell Museum someday--I'm going over to Vickie's blog now!
