A Haven for Vee

Roy G Biv

I am going to stop being such a snob about iPhone photos. Rainbows are not often seen in my *holler and I am not often out in rainbow weather so even if I do see one, the Nikon has failed to capture it. On Paint Nite, my daughter was driving in Rainbow Weather leaving my hands free to take some photos. Glory be! The iPhone camera captured that rainbow with ease.
Linking to Judith's Mosaic Monday for the first time in a long time.
*holler...my home in the valley at the edge of the forest where trees are all I see...

  2. Pretty rainbow Vee! The hubby and I saw a rainbow on Saturday. We think it was a sign that the Chicago Blackhawks were going to win the series with Anaheim! :) Have a wonderful week Vee!

  3. Great pictures! I don't have an IPhone.....so I have not experienced shooting pictures with one.

  4. Great pictures, Vee. With some of the new camera phones you can hardly tell the difference between photos from that and from a good hand held camera. LOVE the rainbow. xo Diana

  6. Beautiful rainbow. It's amazing how good cell phone cameras are now! Just don't gloat over the Waterlogue app which we poor Android users can't get. Wah!! Hope you have a happy holler day.

  7. And capture the beauty of that it did! Glorious! Enjoy your day! most of my pics are i-phone ones anymore....just so convenient!

  11. Rainbows - a promise and a hope. Beautiful shot with the raindrops on the windshield. I-Phones are handy that way.

  12. I knew what a holler was....I've lived in one in years past and always feel at home among the trees. Love your beautiful rainbow pic and it's nice to see you mosaic. Now...if only we could make some note cards again! Sweet hugs, Diane

  15. Your mosaic is wonderful, Vee. Rainbows are special to me and you captured it so well. Using the iPhone makes photography so easy for me, as I love the ease.
Thank you for praying for my son. I so appreciate it!

  16. Very pretty! Actually, I suppose those I phone cameras are so much better than most of the cameras I grew yup using and used when my kids were little, there isn't much they can't do!

  17. Well done! You are right- we had one a couple of days ago - huge and the camera didn't capture it well - though i think we noticed it as it was waning, so probably more time than camera.

Glad you got the shots - esp when they're a rarity for you.

Have a wonderful month of June, Vee!

  18. The i-phone camera we have with us is always better than the 'good camera' left behind! Good capture of the rainbow!

  19. The pictures turned out great! I wouldn't have known they weren't taken with a regular camera.

  21. I've stopped being a snob about iphone photos too and am more and more relying on it as the device that records the things that happen when I'm out and about. I'd be pretty happy with that rainbow photo too!

  22. We love rainbows, too!! I never suspected a trace of snobbery!!!

  23. You and your iphone did great! Thanks for the holler definition!

  24. I noticed the framing of the mosaic too! Very nice! The rainbow photos are nice too!

We live in a hollow too, but my kids call it the ditch. We are often in evening shadows but the tops of our trees and those trees on the hillside are in sunlight still. I like it here!

  27. The iPhone takes pretty good pictures. It's finally raining here, so, we have our own rainbows. (Yay!) Have a blessed day. ~:)

  30. I can say that since I got my iPhone, the point and shoot camera has been taken out of my purse. I've come to love all that it (with the tiny print) can do for me.
Aren't rainbows one of nature's most exciting things to see? I took a photo yesterday of one and with all the trees around us all I got was a small piece disappearing behind leaves.
Nice to have you back participating at Mosaic Monday Vee.

  31. Vee, The rainbow is great, the drops on the window and the character buildings. Great! Sylvia D.

  32. A great capture Vee. Rainbows are not always an easy subject! Love the old brick buildings too... :)

  33. That phone did a great job on that rainbow for sure. Maybe my next smart phone will have to be an iphone! We've been covered in raindrops today for a change, too. Hope you have a good week.

  34. Gorgeous rainbow! I love your photos, Vee. Good job!

  35. Wow! That's a great shot taken while in a moving vehicle! The capabilities of these new-generation camera phones are astounding! Because I'm old school and have an ancient cell with a poor camera, I still use my compact camera to capture images.

  36. So glad you had the iPhone. That shot is too good to have been missed.
We were out in the boat yesterday where I saw a fraction of a rainbow mingling with the blue sky and big puffy clouds. Unfortunately there was no camera or iPhone. I made a new rule the camera comes with me on the boat from now on.

  37. What a glorious gift from the Lord...I see His majesty and His faithfulness in that gift! You have captured it beautifully...what a lovely mosaic! (I am so glad that you weren't driving!)

I am not at all an iPhone snob...mostly because I have no iPhone (only a stupid phone). ;)

  39. Such delightful photos showing the beauty of rain. And the rainbow is exquisite.

  40. Fantastic!!! All round, in every way!!! xx

  41. Rainbows are such treasures ~ perhaps because we don't often see them and nobody can create the beauty of a rainbow. The beautiful old buildings are spectacular, too.

  42. I love seeing rainbows and living behind trees as you do, I often miss them. I specifically go out and look for them if I think it's rainbow weather. I like your collage of photos of the rainbow! Well done. When I read "Roy G Biv" I was wondering where I'd heard that before. Haha! I'd forgotten that little trick to remember the colours in the rainbow. I must try to remember to teach that to my grandsons. It sure is cold, windy and wet here today. Feels like March weather.

  43. Hi Vee, We have seen more rainbows in the last two years than in the last 40. You made me laugh when you said in your cove as we are in the plains with flat and can see for miles!
Blessings, Rain and sunshine and rainbows each and every season...
    Hugs, Roxy

  44. Vee, what wonderful photographs and that rainbow is stunning! Aww, sometimes our iphones are keepers!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Those are super shots! My old iphone was awful, but this new one is the bomb diggity! It takes wonderful pics...but I still prefer my real camera.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh a beautiful Roy G Biv indeed!!! Love your mosaic Vee. Did you know that on a double rainbow the colors are reversed on the second one?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Beautiful! And yes, it is wise to give that snobbery about iPhone photos the boot. The newer phones are truly remarkable. Remember the recent photo of the Tetons on my blog post, showing my Nikon on a tripod? It was taken with my little iPhone.
