This year's tree (above and below)...
~tree on a trunk~
Perhaps the elves will be happier with this year's tree than last year's. They sure have had a lot to say about my wee trees.
Hope that you might have an opportunity to check in at Abby's for the Advent Calendar she is doing this month at Little Birdie Blessings. Each day is new gift/promise from the Word of God. The button is in my sidebar.
Have a blessed weekend!

I love all the trees. They all have their own personality and unique charm :) I have a small tree for the first time ever this year. I'll be honest, it is an adjustment. I have been accused of tree perfectionism more than once in my life. I'm trying to loosen up. As long as it has lights and pretty ornaments it will all be fine. Sounds like I'm trying to talk myself into liking my little tree doesn't it? Lol
ReplyDeleteI am sure that I would love it! I have been up and down a ladder so many times in the past week that I can hardly move. Next year, Lord willing, the tree will, at least, be on the floor. LOL!
DeleteI remember those stiff knees years, but only have a small tree now! And I had better get busy with my decorating...Last year I changed my downstairs closet opposite the front door, to a Christmas closet and I love it! I used to have a nativity set on my mantel and above it, from mantel to ceiling, hung a dark blue cloth with stars all over it. And on that starry cloth I hung about forty angel ornaments, of ever sort. There was a star of Bethlehem at the center of it all. It was beautiful, but rather tiring to accomplish....Now, "just" the creche, but it is the one we have "always" used, made from olive wood from Bethlehem. I love seeing your Christmas decorations and tree and feel confident the elves will be delighted!
ReplyDeleteThat display of the heavenly host sounds amazing, Kristi!
DeleteYour trees are pretty. Hope the elves are happy. Enjoy the pretty lights!
ReplyDeleteVee, it's looking lovely at your home. I especially like your trunk filled with the sweet stuffed animals. Also, I see what looks to be an antique Santa on your bookcase? Cute grand elves are sure to enjoy this years Christmas tree. Enjoy you weekend. ♥
ReplyDeleteIf the little elves this your trees are small, they should see mine.
ReplyDeletePrecious, precious, precious....I adore that little lamb....and....the gorgeous wee tree!
ReplyDeleteI loved your tree in a trunk last year and this years tree on a trunk is just as beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBoth your trees are beautiful. I do love your little elves!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...thanks for the smiles. Blessings
ReplyDeleteLooking like Christmas at your home, I sure love your lamb.
ReplyDeleteLooking very festive. Isn't Christmas a wonderful season? Loved all your trees and your little elves.
ReplyDeleteThe elves should be VERY pleased with your beautiful tree. I really liked last year's tree in a suitcase - very creative and unique.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Photoscape? On the computer that quit?
Beautiful!!! Next year you'll have to try tree under a trunk. ;-)). Truly, your ideas are always great and turn out so pretty. My fake skinny tree will come out of hiding tomorrow. I was tempted to cover it with all the ornaments still on, when I put it away last February. I'm getting lazy. I don't think any elves will be at our house this year, which kinda takes the fun out of all those decorations. Have a wonderful weekend, Vee. Your house looks glowy and warm.
ReplyDeleteThe new tree is a lot brighter. It's so festive and pretty. I don't think I'll be decorating this year. No one will see it but us anyway. ~:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I am in the midst of decorating, boxes all over. It's a lot of work, but something I know my family all enjoys. We are creating memories, Vee!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee, How pretty! I once collected teddy bears and loved to decorate with them at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThis link should take you to my new blog and new email. Wishing you both a nice weekend.
Oh, I remember last year's tree with fondness :) But I must say your tree this year is stunning! Your home looks lovely for Christmas, sweet Vee. Enjoy this beautiful time of the year. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee!
ReplyDeleteI love both trees . . . Those silly elves!
This year, my tree is in an old trunk. I love the look, I think it's a simple and nice change from my big tree. Although , , , my big tree will be downstairs, all lit up for the little's to open their gifts under!
Hugs,
Barb
I love to look back at previous years holiday decorations. Actually I have a very short memory and blogging keeps me looking quite with it. My daughter asks, "Do you remember that ribbon I had on my tree last year?" And I reply, "Oh, yes, of course". Then I go and look up the pictures from last year on my blog! lol! Old age?
ReplyDeleteYour tree is gorgeous, Vee.

So you are really embracing the tree this year!! I love it and need to go back and look at all the ornaments on it.I like to use my iPad for that because I can zoom in and see everything! I feel as I'm playing I Spy and your beautiful blog is one of my favorite places to play this game!!!
ReplyDeleteYour tree - and your grands are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSo you don't like PicMonkey? It's the only one I use - so I guess I haven't anything to compare it to......
Have a blessed Advent Season, sweet friend. Hugs. ♥
I well remember your tree from last year. I like how you have changed it up a bit this year while still retaining the charm. I think the elves will approve. Be sure to keep us posted on that front.
ReplyDeleteI think your tree is lovely, and I'm sure the elves will agree. Our tree is still the attic. I asked Handyman to assemble it today. That is his contribution to the holidays along with consuming the festive treats which are withheld until the tree is up. I call it 'insurance'. We're so far behind because of our Thanksgiving trip and age. :D
ReplyDeleteChildren don't like the idea of small trees, do they? My girls (who are hardly "children"!) flipped a gasket when we suggested that we might not put up our big tree this year...volunteering to go up to the attic to get it and do all the work! As it turned out, while Kati did do the fetching, life has settled enough to do the usual amount of decorating, so they needn't have worried.
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it though, my parents still have not acquiesced to having a small tree. They think that's for old people. :)
Your decorations were lovely last year, and they're lovely this year!! You have quite the touch!!
Off to see Abby's advent calendar...
No, children do not like small trees. Oh the piteous looks I have received. They have been feeling very sorry for me. =D
DeleteI really like both years trees - last year in the trunk and this year on the trunk! I like all the creative ways to display trees big or small! I do have a few smaller trees here and there, but I love my big tree! Maybe in 10 years I won't but for now!!!! I am teasing my girls this year about not using their little trees in their rooms. Grinches! ha ha! They do love what I do in the house and if I didn't they would not be happy!
ReplyDeleteYour elves are very handsome! I'm sure they'll feel better that you have a 'proper' tree this year! :)
Deanna
Your tree is lovely!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
My son and daughter-in-law have a puppy (a hyperactive BIG puppy) so they have a tiny tree on their piano this year. Everyone who has met Edmund understands completely. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is one grand tree! I'm thinking about pulling out a little tree that's growing in the side yard for this years tree. It is seeded from a tree we cut down and we aren't interested in it getting huge!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the elves will love this one. I still haven't pulled down the Christmas boxes! It is high time.
Enjoy your decorating! I use the photo editing on windows 8, it works well for me. xx
ReplyDeleteWell,at least you have your tree up and those littles Elves look very busy, writing their Christmas wish list?
ReplyDeleteI think the lights are what make me happy in the evenings, the soft glow and the twinkle.
Ho Ho... Roxy
Your tree is beautiful Vee. I'm glad you went with a bigger tree. I love our big trees.....Merry Christmas time to you..
ReplyDeleteLove, Mona
It ALL looks beautiful to me! Past and present-
ReplyDeleteHave fun!
I think I'm done-

I hope you don't ask which tree we like better, this year or last year's. My, oh my, they are both gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh how I'd love a tree, but then there's 3 kittens who would love to climb, bat the Christmas balls, and chew the needles!! I have to limit myself with outdoor decorations. It certainly makes me feel a little grumpy not having a tree to light, but I'll enjoy all my friends, XOXO
ReplyDeleteI love your tree..it is so pretty...
ReplyDeleteBoth this years and last years tree are very pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove the tree, it's beautiful either in or on a trunk. However, the best part of this post is you're elves checking out their to do lists.
ReplyDeleteOne is checking out his iPod and the other is checking out his Crazy Eights hand. Taken Thanksgiving afternoon...
DeleteYour tree is beautiful Vee! Sweet pic of the boys.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you didn't ask me to choose which tree i liked best, love both of them, and you have two handsome elves there too! Hugs,
ReplyDeleteSue
