How Selfish Can I Be?

Terribly, as it turns out. You see, I was offered the opportunity to give you a Ramsign gift and, instead, I chose to take it myself. Yes, I am blushing even as I write this.

I have admired the classic and sharp-looking porecelain enamel signs in the Danish Tradition over my years of blogging. I was so happy to have a giveaway once upon a time and told myself that some fine day I'd order a number sign for myself. Fast forward, I forgot, and then this opportunity.

The package arrived in a timely manner.

Directions enclosed...

My town, like many communities, has strict rules about displaying the house number. Mine are supposed to be 4 inches high. I actually have two sets of house numbers in addition to the decals on the mailbox above. Anyway, you can see why I am so charmed by my Ramsign 14. It's a big step up from decals.

Of course, there are many ways to use a beautiful Ramsign house number. They themselves offer suggestions here. I have had a lot of fun trying to decide what I will ultimately do with mine. (I think I will surely have to order another.) And I am also thinking of reasons, besides house numbers, to order them. Birthdates, names, and more. If I still lived in my 1840 house, that might be a good choice, but 1955 doesn't have quite the same ring.

One would look very nice between the garage doors.

I like it on the shelf.

On the window...

On the door, one way or another...

I received the beautiful 14 from the Highlander Collection in exchange for this post. I can certainly say this: this sign more than met my expectations and I highly recommend the product. My thanks to the good folks at Ramsign for their generosity.

Where do you think I should place mine? I'll show you what I ultimately did next time I post.

Have a great week!

Postscript: Penny at Enjoying the Simple Things has graciously invited all my readers to her blog where she is having a Giveaway for a Ramsign product. Check it out!

  2. Really your house signs have to be a certain size, I just checked our block out of seven houses one has no number at all, another one just has a number written in textra the others all have their numbers displayed all different sizes my house has three one on the letter box, one on the Fence and one on the front door, so there you go guess we are all different.

  3. I truly never heard of these signs, but I think yours would look great at the garage door or right there on your front door.

  4. Very nice address sign, Vee. I like it displayed on your first front door photo. It looks low so you can still hang a wreath. But I also like it between the garage doors. The black and white looks lovely against your pretty green. ♥

  5. I love them too. I am actually having a giveaway so send your blog friends over!

    1. What a great invitation, Penny! I will add it to the main body of this post when I am able to access a PC instead of the iPad. Thanks!

  6. Those signs are beautiful - I had never heard of them! Your place looks so charming and I'm sure you'll find the perfect spot! Love your header - so pretty.

  7. I don't blame you a bit, I would probably do the same and then host a giveaway later. The fact that you had a giveaway first means you are a better woman than I. I just won one of these from BJ at Sweet Nothings. I am so excited about it!

  8. Personally, I can't think of anybody more deserving than you. Not a selfish act in the least. Through my years of blogging I have seen these signs pop up. They are most attractive. I enjoyed seeing all of the possibilities around your home. My favorite is the way you hung it on the first door picture.

  11. Vee, there's no one more deserving, don't feel you are being selfish. It's a beautiful sign, can't wait to see its final display spot.

  12. I hadn't heard of these until I saw BJ's giveaway (which I failed to enter and am so tickled to hear that Kathleen Grace won!). But they are very beautiful and you are not one bit selfish! Enjoy your new sign, wherever you choose to place it.

  13. That must mean you've "made it" as a blogger, to get a free item for writing a review. WOOT WOOT! I'd probably hang it on the door with the string, like you have in the last picture. No need to feel selfish, you've earned it.

  14. These are a nice product and personally, either the front door or over the garage is my choice for the house numbers.
At least you get mail delivered to your home, we have a community box on the next block where we have to pick up our mail and there are a few larger boxes provided for when parcels arrive.

  15. I think it would look great just about anywhere. Happy Monday to you!

  16. I love those number signs from Ramsign and have seen them offered on blogs before. I like it on your front door. Such a classic look. Now that I think of it, one would look nice on our new front entry when it gets built! The only thing is the house is far from the road and one can't see a number if it was place on the front. In our province we have "911" numbers for our mailing address and everyone is issued a pair of them for their mailbox post - one facing each direction. The numbers are reflective for emergency vehicles. Mail box posts are now becoming a thing of the past with the group mail boxes in most communities. I guess everyone will have to put a post at the end of their driveway with the # on it. Congrats on receiving one of these signs Vee.

  17. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself.....Your "14" sign is lovely and I like it in all the places. But where will it find it's final "resting place". HaHa

  18. Yea for you in keeping the Ramsign, Vee! It looks good in all those places. I won one a few years ago and I chose a "welcome" sign and my Beloved put it on my basket that I keep on the front door. I love it!

  22. Love this post! I vote for the first door picture, between moldings. Of course, that is where the numbers on my front door are, also. ;) Beautiful.

  23. I won the one you offered before! I love it but STILL haven't put it up because I am waiting until I paint the wooden trim outside our door. Ahem! I really need to get that done.....This is a great kick in the pants!!

  26. I love it! I've got to figure out where to put one. Just did - we bought a new mailbox Saturday and it would look wonderful there and another on the side of our house or maybe between the lights on each side of the garage door. It's very classy!

  29. HMMMM I think I agree with you may need another. I love it. ALL of your suggestions look, but I think I am a tiny bit partial to the one on the door. The first picture. Looking forward to seeing what you chose!

  30. What a fun piece to own. I have always admired their signs, too. I'd say after the year you have had you deserve to keep a few little treats for yourself-that's what I say!!! I kind of like it low on the door in the crossbar there...but it will look great anywhere really. xo Diana

  32. I won one of these signs on another blog in July and I have yet to receive it ;( They seemed befuddled that my house number is only one digit. I will have to write to them again about it. Hope they follow through with your winner, Vee!
