1. May 17th is National Pack Rat Day. Sidebar-should we be celebrating this? Hmmm...
Sidebar❔
Apparently, Americans love any reason to create a novelty, but I think Cream Cheese Day would be preferable.
Are you a pack rat?
There's a distinct possibility
Even if you're not a full fledged pack rat, most people have one thing or another they struggle to part with. Tell us what's yours.
Every single thing that belonged to the ancestors—the letters, the books, the photos...ohhhhh the photos. ๐
2. What are two things you know you should know how to do, but you don't?
a. I should know how to set up a wireless printer
b. I should know how to express myself without causing confusion
3. Do you crave sugar?
Sure, I like sugar. ใ
Do you add sugar to your coffee and/or tea?
Yes.
Do you use artificial sweeteners or sugar substitutes?
As seldom as I can.
When dining out is dessert a given?
No. Dessert is a rarity. But I did bake a Rhubarb Custard Pie this week following Leslie Land's recipe. (See featured post in sidebar)
Are you someone who has slain the sugar dragon,
No
and if so tell us how you did it.

Loved your answers, Vee! Oh, that Meatza Pie recipe looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteI wondered about the sidebar/pack rat thing too ... maybe she meant to say "side note" and got autocorrected. I detest that feature.
Off to check out your pie recipe and then get into what looks like a crazy day. Dentist at 9:10 ...
Hey, I think you express yourself just fine, my friend. Enjoyed your Hodgepodge, Vee. Have a beautiful day, friend. smiles
ReplyDeleteGood Morning! Oh your pie sounds so good to me. I learned to drink my coffee without sugar but I love sugar in tea. Wishing you a good day, Vee.
ReplyDeleteAww - love your answers Vee. 2a made me giggle. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteGood morning! That pie looks good! Any left? And I'm like you...now I love my IPAD...can't live without it! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI could certainly get behind Cream Cheese Day! :) Or how about Rhubarb Custard Pie Day? Mmmmm...
ReplyDeleteFun Hodgepodge! Loved reading your answers and your little emoji made me smile!
Enjoyed your hodgepodge...I have given in and loved the i-phone, but the i-pad...not so much, lol. I am with everyone else. The pie looked good but I have never heard of that so I had to look it up. Sounds wonderful. Have a good day Vee!
ReplyDeleteThat Meetza Pie Sandwich looks mighty yummy. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with John Denver that his voice sticks in the brain like SUPER GLUE! your pie looked wonderful. I've read that artificial sweeteners cause brain damage. Everything causes brain damage. Have a wonderful day, Vee.
ReplyDeleteBecause he's a poet and wonderful? ๐ค
DeleteDear Vee, yes I am a pack rat! I hide my dishes under the bed so Mr. Marty won't see them! LOL! Have a great day my friend. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteAh, good ol' sugar....I have a terrible sweet tooth. Sometimes I am good about not eating it and other times, well....I eat too much! HA!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely post. Hugs to you!
That John Denver song is a good one.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this hodgepodge.
Meatza pie sure sounds like a winner, Vee. I've never heard of it, but after looking at the recipe I could sure become familiar with a piece. I'm with you on family items--photos will never leave our home on my watch. That sounds a little strong, but I mean it. Have a nice afternoon. ♥
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading your hodgepodge. Just when I said I didn't know how to make pie you offered up two of them! :) Too bad I can't just pop over and have a slice with you now and again. Photos are definitely hard to dispose of. I have decided I'd better let the Christmas photos that I get a load of every year go...
ReplyDeleteI just played John Denver's "I'm Sorry" the other day and downloaded it to my tunes along with Annie's Song. I was lucky enough to see him many years ago and he sang both those songs and they both resonated with me.
ReplyDeleteLoved your answers and the METZA pie sounds a lot like my old meatloaf recipe.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week- xo Diana
We don't eat out that often so I do enjoy getting a dessert from time to time. There are things I will never be able to part with.
ReplyDeleteFun answers. I think you express yourself very well. All those old treasures are something I have difficulty parting with, too.
ReplyDeleteI love Amazing Grace... it was my grandfather's favorite song and played at his funeral... hope you are having a great evening.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Jill
I loved reading your answers, Vee. I wish I didn't love sugar, but it can't be helped! Ah...Amazing Grace...it always gets to me, and I love singing it. Now I want to look up Meatza Pie!
ReplyDeleteRhubarb pie sounds delicious! Yay for you making it! And the meatless pie looks yummy too! I can't believe they have a day celebrating pack rats, lol! I too love old things, and yes, pictures are especially important to me. After having downsized several years ago, I find I have to be very careful about what I allow into the home, for finding a place for it now is not easy! I think I have definitely learned to curb the pack rat habit, lol! Living in a tiny home will do that to you! Hugs to you today :)
ReplyDeleteMeatza pie looks good, so good! Oh yes, John Denver!
ReplyDeleteThe meatza pie looks so good and is making me hungry as I didn't eat much for supper. I love sugar in my iced tea but I drink black coffee. Love John Denver's songs, all of them. He had such a pure voice. Amazing Grace is one of my favorite hymns.
ReplyDeleteI'm behind on blogging/commenting due to various reasons so I'm trying to catch up. Hope you're enjoying spring weather!
I'm always learning something new about you! But a pack rat?? I would never have thought it! Just kidding, you know! John was a bigger pack rat, though, wasn't he?
ReplyDeleteIt is a distinct possibility. ๐
DeleteOh yes, technology the great challenge to us seniors. My MacBook went beyond the capabilities of our printer so we bought a new one - do you think I can get it to print? Let's not even go there. :-(
ReplyDeleteI think I've managed the iPhone and iPad I have but again, went to use Bloglovin' after the last big update and the IOS system doesn't support it any more.
I made my rhubarb custard pie, a different recipe than your recommended one and as usual I never follow a recipe anyway and make my own changes. lol Holy smokes, is it good! Glenn, who doesn't care for rhubarb loves it.
Always interesting! And I answer each question in my head as I read yours. I think I'm always a hold-out when it comes to new technology, but eventually give in and then 'couldn't do without'. (GPS, i-phones, netflix...) I'm not a pack rat, except for sentimental things. I love dessert after a meal...even if it is just a wee 'something'. You have trouble expressing yourself? I think not! Take care!
