A Simple Saturday
I'm gonna get us some water outta this here thing...
Yup, I'm gonna get it done...here goes...
Phew! This is soooo labor intensive...
A note from Nonni: Yes! We've had sun...two entire days of sunshine. I'm beside myself with joy. I know it's tough on you Texans and on those from other points south right now with all the heat and humidity. It's just that up here in the tundra our summer is so short that we hate to give up over a month of it to rain every single day. Wish I could've sent you some cooling weather, though, I really do, and I know that you so wanted to send us some heat. I will pray for an end to the drought because I know that it's equally destructive. Our farmers will not be able to plant for another week because the fields are so wet. Please pray that they'll be able to get the rest of their crops in and that the hay will be able to be mown. Thanks!
Have a lovely weekend...

Yup, 2 days of sun, and the future forecast doesn't look too bad. I've done nothing but blog about the rain for about, oh, 3,000 days!
ReplyDeleteIt was BAD !
You know, Vee this has been the strangest July for us here...it never hit 86 all day yesterday and 90 only once so far this month. Though we've had no rain, the lovely Canadians have provided us with sweet cold fronts (isn't that lovely of them?). But I promise that when the heat arrives, I'll ship you a gallon on the first pipeline going East!

ReplyDeleteHe is sure an industrious young man. Did he get any water, or is that just an antique? Have an great weekend. Blessings

What a little cutie! Sunshine and a cool breeze in the mornings...aaaaah. We had so much rain, my flower beds leading down the hill have eroded.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this beautiful weekend.

Adorable! I am so happy that you got sun! We have a little rain cloud overhead today but I expect it to blow over. Our grand is here today after an overnight and the little scamp got up a 5:00 AM! He and grandpa are out riding the golf cart giving me a small break.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little grandie!
ReplyDeletePraying for sunshine for you. I wish I could send some day --- we have lots of sunshine and warmth, but no humidity. Hot and dry --- your rain sounds fragrant and refreshing, but I do understand about farmers and their crops.
God bless Maine!

What cute pics! We have had a better year this year...we were in a drought for 2 years! Everything is so much lusher this year!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee, lots of rain here too. Mr. Margie just checked outside and says it has stopped raining, it is dark and bedtime, so hopefully weather permitting we can admire and breath in the lovely arum lilies tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend. Hugs, Margie.
ReplyDeleteHooray for sunshine. I hope you get to see lots more of it before the summer is over. Loved your pictures today. He is a little cutie pie.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute pictures!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to got to see the sun. I hope it lasts all next week too. :-)

ReplyDeleteHi Vee sun yippee!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated...P.S...Denise
Any friend of Karen's is a friend of mine! I hope and know you'll have a great visit! I wish you more sunny days :)
ReplyDeleteTwo days of sun? I rejoice with you! And my heart goes out to 'your farmers'...since I know they rely on sunshine and rain...in just the right amounts! If it were not for our crops...I'd be quite happy with ALL sunhine in the summertime.
ReplyDeleteYour little 'water pumper' is sure getting to be a big guy!
Vee it was so wonderfully nice of you to keep up with me during my vacation. It was so nice to come home to a few comments!!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeleteThat is one cute little guy, I am always amazed at how they entertain us and themselves.
So glad you all are beginning to dry out, my dh always says to much rain is worse than not enough, and being a farmer I can imagine the farmers concern in your area.I will add them to my prayer list. Please pray for us to get some rain, as our crops need it .
It is so great to see you posting again.
Blessings,
Sue
Simple is good...and this looks real good! C
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Vee!! It's so good to hear from you dear friend....that little grandbaby is so precious!! I just have added my followers to my blog and added them to the bottom right off the bat. What I DID do though is cut out half of the posts that are displayed. I know alot of folks are having a hard time with my blog loading. Let me know if I need to do more OK? hugs and love, Dawn
ReplyDeleteOkay forgive me for complaining about all my heat. At least it does feel like summer even if the temps are 100+ in June(when that is technically our August temps)
ReplyDeleteRoses are crispy but the tomatoes are growing. Sad for you and the farmers.
Congrats on your first year anniversary, and many, many more to come :)
It has been such an unusually cool and wet spring and summer, hasn't it? NY has been ahving soem sunshine the past few weeks so my tomatoes have recovered a little, but I know I'll get less than usual.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose, though, I'd pick cool and wet rather than hot and dry. I just can't tolerate the heat anymore.
PS: Loved the photos of the little grand and his cute cap! Good exercise! I need to do that :-)
ReplyDeletewhat a little sweetie pie! I bet that was hard work for him but looks like he never gave up!
