I'm talking about myself in the third person. That can't be good. Perhaps it comes so easily to me because Vee is not my name. Course, I've been called Vee for so long that it comes quite naturally to me now. It can honestly be said that I wish Vee were my real name. I know people with my real name and they are perfectly normal gals. Wonder why I feel so odd about having the name and always have. Doctor? Is there a doctor in the house?
By the way, what's up with that show V? Lost got me for six long years and it appears that I could be sucked up into the mother ship on this one, too.
But I digress. I want to chat about the weather.
Last night as we were watching the reports on the evening news, the meteorologist repeatedly called the coming storm a "bomb" and an "explosion."
"That guy better watch his language," John said.
By morning's light the explosion looks more like a great day for baking cookies and having an extra cup of coffee.
Even if you're having a blustery day, keep it cozy!
Oh Winnie the Pooh....I can just hear the story...wow! I can't imagine, we never have weather like that...one or two days of snow, only snowing a couple of hours, and back to Texas weather. We get the heat in summer though.
ReplyDeleteWell Vee is better than "Neppie"...that is what I was called by my mom...LOL
The view out your window looks like it could be on a Christmas card! WOW! So much snow! It's sunny here but a bit windy! I'll take that extra coffee this morning! Hugs! ♥
ReplyDeleteWe are supposed to get wind, which will make a mess of the beautiful snow that fell last night. I canceled an appointment we had this morning choosing to stay at home...warm and dry.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your cookie baking.
You have become Vee to so many of us. So...in some ways it is your name. Your chosen identity.
Glad it's you guys getting the snow and not us here in Oklahoma. I've got places to go and things to do!
ReplyDeleteShe's referring to herself, in the third person. And bringing in thoughts of Winnie The Pooh.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love it!!! What better way to handle a day, like this?
And John is right. That poor weather person better be careful! He may get picketed for "bad language" or something! In today's day and age. :-(
As to the show "V," I don't watch it. The old one, the original one, scared the "pantalooons" off of me. Not going there, again!
Gentle January hugs...
We did get some snow yesterday. But today there is sun. Yeah! Although, they are calling for us to get some major snow this weekend. Hubby is supposed to be flying to California on Sat. Maybe it will get canceled! Beautiful picture Vee, bet those cookies will taste extra delish with your coffee today! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, let them round up the naughty dissents who use inflammatory language! It looks like you are getting a BLAST of cold winter weather!
ReplyDeleteAh, I meant to say dissidents! I wish there was spell-checker for comments!
ReplyDeleteYour post title would be a great children's book title!
ReplyDeleteCookies? I can almost smell them baking!
Smiles,
Carol
'Morning VEEEEE. Becky is right on - you've become Vee to all of us and it might feel wierd to call you by your given name.
ReplyDeleteTalking about yourself in the third person, eh? Well, I talk to myself all the time - does that count? If so, make me an appointment with your doctor when you go...
Your snow is lovely and whoooooshy-looking out there. I'd vote for another cup and some cookies as well! We had a little snow here and it's been cold (wow - two years in a row that we got a little snow - must be "global cooling") and now I'm ready for it to leave and get warm.
Footsies anyone??? Have a warm cozy day, you two!
Vickie, don't be silly! It's global warming whichever way the weather turns, didn't you know that? ;D
ReplyDelete......and indeed this was quite a large explosion. It seems as if no one was spared. Happy Snow Day!
ReplyDeleteWe had that weather this weekend. Now we have a few flurries with the sun peaking out. I always loved to see the sun sparkle on fresh fallen snow....just like diamonds.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and cozy in your home Vee...
Hugs,
Penny
Vee, hope you are definitely tucked into your haven! What a snow. And we here in the South think we would love it. Anything is better than the icy mixture we got. Shut us down for two days! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's looking like ND!! Isn't it beautiful? I love it.
ReplyDeleteI think I just might make some cookies today too.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought it was cold HERE!!! (in DFW area!) Guess NOT!
ReplyDeleteThat scene out the window looks bery familiar to me. Luckily the sun is out today. Tomorrow? No bets.
ReplyDeleteA very blustery day, indeed! I hope that Vee stays indoors and bakes cookies just as she intended. What kind of cookies, might I ask?
ReplyDeleteAs Pooh said, it is a very blustery day. Lots of wind and snow and cold temps. I am not baking cookies (doing weight watchers) but I am watching a movie by firelight!
ReplyDeleteI heard it called a "bomb" here last night on the news too. Is that like a new meterological term or something? I'm still not over "tornadic".
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you Miss Vee for the view outside your window. Sometimes I yearn for a snow day but then I wake up and see the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee, well I'll keep callin' ya Vee since I don't know what your real name is. :D I think Vee is a nice name. We've had a minor explosion...oops, I mean snow storm...here. About 4-6 inches depending on who you ask.
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you liked the potato soup. I should have mentioned that it makes a rather large batch. But we had no trouble at all eating more the next day.
Cookies sound good. What kind are you making? Stay warm. ~Cheryl
Cheryl~
ReplyDeleteWe LOVED the soup. Had it for lunch. You didn't get the memo yet?
Chocolate chip... yum!
♥ Vee
"Vee" has become synonymous with a delightful place to be and a good friend's home; a retreat and a time for tea; a place of comfort and refreshing with a merry-hearted, good natured hostess where there is always good advice and great humour. One always leaves feeling refreshed. You are "Vee" to me! Love you and have a blessed, snow-filled, Christ-filled day!
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who doesn't know your real name? Oh, please - do share!! And if you don't want to tell, can I guess? =)
ReplyDeleteWe've had 10-12 inches of snow over the last two days, and cold temperatures to boot. I have been reading and conducting school in front of the fire. Have I mentioned I'm a homebody and don't mind one single bit?
Now the cookies I would LOVE!! However, dieting keeps me from indulgences like that for another 5 weeks. Think of me as you savor (at least) one bite!
Hugs!
Hi Vee, the name Vee suits you to a tee,John is so right about using the word bomb.LoL Beautiiful view!!! Enjoy your evening.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sue
We're blustering, bombing and booming all over the place here too - stay snug!
ReplyDeleteDo you always have on hand, everything you need to whip up something delicious to eat? I bet it smells nice in your home, too!
ReplyDeleteCheryl
It's beautiful, Vee! Even when we lived in Iowa, I never tired of the snow. of course it meant that I may have to stay in, but of winter seems so complete with snow, and fireplaces, and stews, and patchwork quilts, and books, and children running into the house red-faced and out of breath. I tend to see Norman Rockwell in my winters.
ReplyDeleteOn another thought, what kind of cookies did you bake?
I'm trying to think of the snow as moisture for spring flowers!
ReplyDeleteBlustery is right. That wind feels like knives.
ReplyDeleteI sure could go for baking and eating cookies right now! I've been craving cookies for days now...
Hi Vee?
ReplyDeleteWell, whatever your real name is - Vee is lovely!
I too heard that you were going to have a monster storm - worst storm in years. Did it just piddle out? It looks pretty nasty outside your window!
Stay safe and warm.
Blessings,
Barb
You really did get some snow and looks like you had a great day indoors.
