Now that I've got everyone interested in Alice, I'm going to drop the ball and look forward to the youngest generation. (I promise to return to Alice at some point. I do!)
My grand and I have had a "date" for a few weeks now. His little brother had been over last so he knew that his turn was coming. I'm milking this great desire to be at Nonni's house for all it's worth since I know these are fleeting times and the day is soon coming when it'll be no big deal to spend time here.
Though we played with castles, did computer games, went sliding outdoors, and read stories, his favorite part of the day was egg cracking. "Thank you, Nonni, for letting me crack the egg!" He was even willing to wear the loon apron.
Note # 6 and the folded hands while the mixer was going. This is a tip I learned at Lovella's right *here.* While you're visiting What Matters Most, perhaps you'd like to wish Lovella a very happy birthday!
Looks like quite a fun day! :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't think kids ever get tired of visiting grandma. I know I never did!
Visiting Grandma is FUN! Your little guy looks adorable and very involved with the project at hand.
ReplyDeleteIn a few years our little granddaughter will be able to bake with Nana. Yippee!
what a darling, sweet boy! you must have
ReplyDeletehad such fun baking with him.
when mine were young like that, i asked
them to put their hands in their pockets
or together to keep them from touching
everything in the store. i will remember
this now when using the mixer, too. :)
How sweet are these photo's! Baking with the grands is so much fun..Mine always want to eat the dough LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love his little face in photo 3..This sweetie pie and can bring a smile to anyone's face.
Have a sweet day and hugs, Elizabeth
How fun! What great photos too. I remember baking cookies with my 4 boys when they were young...More dough than cookies got eaten :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
Mmmmm... Yes it's a very sweet "kid" mosaic but...
ReplyDeleteStill not quite fair of you, to rev up interest in Sweet Alice. And then drop it. Leave us waiting for the story.
-pout-
You're being quite the *tease,* these days, Girlie! >,-)
Your yesterday's words, on Sweet Alice; "If I didn't know the back story, I'd think something entirely different. Sadly, I do know the story. Would you be interested to know, too?"
ReplyDeleteThat "sadly" you do know the story... Interesting. "Sadly"? "Sadly"? Does this very pretty lady have sadness in her story?
But doesn't everyone have some sort of "sadness" in their story? What makes Sweet Alice's story, different?
You *tease* you! ,-)
Love those grand dates...especially the ones around the mixer! Cute pic's.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course we are all stopping by Lovella's today to help her celebrate her big day!
Hi Vee!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable little grand! He looked like he was having the time of his life! I don't think there is anything more beneficial for a child, than to spend time with his grandma... :0) And I love the folded hands - very good idea!
I just wanted to thank you for the sweet comment you left on my blog yesterday. It truly changed my whole perspective. Sometimes I get so caught up in my troubles, that I forget to turn them over to Him . . . hugs and love to you!
Hugs and blessings,
Barb
Vee, I loved your mosaic today especially! I can just see and hear and feel all the happiness floating around in your kitchen. Hear the laughter and the giggles and the excitement in that sweet voice! He is so cute and growing so quickly. I'm glad that you get to see your grands so often and have a "date" with them! Precious memories for you both are being made!
ReplyDeleteYou're going to leave us hanging, are you? We're anxious to hear about Alice!
I think John's comment about the painting is the nicest one I've ever received! I think my heart just skipped a beat! Please thank him for me ever so kindly! I'm glad y'all are enjoying it. I certainly enjoyed painting it!
So, so precious ...I look forward to doing that one day..we are hoping for our first grand this year...until then I will enjoy those times with my five year old...and I will have to do pictures like that..oh, my, I haven't done the apron thing with him I will have to try.
ReplyDeletePrecious, precious!
I look forward to making cookies with my grandson one day...he already likes to "pretend" cook :) What kind of cookies did you make? They look so good!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet, cute grand you have! Spending time with grandma is something he'll never forget. Why, as old as I am, I can remember going to grandma's house and how special she was letting me drag out all her canned goods to play "grocery store" and always having time to play board games.
ReplyDeleteYou know we can't wait to hear about Alice. Hint, hint.
Take care, Cheryl
He is adorable! What fun they are!
ReplyDeleteOH VEE, I LOVED these photos and the joy.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
Sharon
This post has brought happiness and a song to everyone's heart, I know. What better thing could you have done today! We grandmothers (I'm a Nana myself) are such fortunate and blessed women!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie pie, and Vee, you know how I enjoy making memories and seeing others make memories too. The expressions on his face says it all, he will remember this special time always. Thank you for such a sweet post.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sue
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable grandson! I think it's such a good idea to have the brothers visit one at a time to get that one-on-one. My hubby can't stand to bring one grandson home with us without the other, though.
Looking forward to hearing more about Alice!
It doesn't get much better than that, does it? We'll all be teaching our grands to fold hands while the mixer goes, thanks to Lovella.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute mosaic summing up a fun day. Such wonderful memories you are making. I don't blame you for wanting to milk it for all it's worth.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to spend the day! Memories like these leave a lasting impression on Nonni and her little grand. Your collage is so cute. You really captured the feeling of the day so nicely.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a peaceful week.
Jen
These are the most precious times! What a beautiful child he is and he had so much fun at Nonni's. Some of my grandkids call me "Nonna" and some call me "Nammi." To one family of grandkids, I'm just "Grandma" but I'll answer to any the above! How blessed we are!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet and I love your header. I am glad to have found you again Vee.
ReplyDeleteSo enjoy these precious moments, Vee ... they bring melting heart memories of our moments with our kid-lings.
ReplyDeleteJust adorable is that cookie snitcher .. chuckle!
TTFN ~
Have a beautiful day ~
Huggers,
Marydon
Oh goodness.... he's so precious.... and you're making sweet memories for both of you. Grab those moments!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
What a cutie pie! He looks like he had a grand time! I know that you did too...
ReplyDeleteI just love to bake with my granddaughter, Julia! She is even interested in becoming a pastry chef some day--of course she is almost eleven years old and she loves frogs and bugs too!!!
ReplyDeleteShe and I are going to take a cake decorating class together which will be part of her birthday gift along with cake decorating supplies! My daughter has arranged for Julia to visit a wonderful bakery soon to observe as part of her homeschooling!
I can't wait to read the story of Alice!!! Hurry!!!!!
OH isnt' baking with kids a hoot? You did an awesome job documenting the whole thing .. .wish I could have been there. I love watching people in their kitchens.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I love looking at all of his expressions. This post made me think of all the baking I did with our sons.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smile:)
Leann
Oh Vee how right you are. I would give anything for those days again. Now my grands are cooking in there own kitchens or helping their moms and all into sports out the wazoo.
ReplyDeleteLoved this post.
QMM
So you have been at it too. He is so adorable.
