This month, I decided to challenge myself by going way back to 2007 and 2008, back when my photography skills were even worse than they are now. I took each photo to both Photoshop and Photoscape. I hope I haven't made a bad thing worse. Let me show you the difference with the first one.
Owls Head, Maine |
See a difference? By using effects in Photoscape, I was able to bring back definition to the trees. The original photo directly above makes the trees look all black. The first note card shows some trunks and boughs and even that little spot where one can see through the trees to the water beyond.

Now I feel that I've chosen all the fuzzy photos that I can handle for a while and so I'll be loading up photos as fast as I can for next month. ☺
Anyone who wishes to know more about the party and the rules (there aren't many), please click on the icon in my sidebar. It will take you to the particulars.
Looking forward to visiting you!
Those are incredible photos...I'm partial to any scene with water! And a sailboat or bird in the sky adds a lot, too! I'm all linked up and getting read to have a cup of coffee and go visitin'! Enjoy your afternoon! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Maine. I want to go!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeleteDon't you love photo editing? That first photo looks great! The water is sooo blue and sparkles like diamonds. I've always wanted to visit Maine; maybe someday I'll get there. I love the sky in the second and fourth picture and the sailboat in the third. These would all make lovely note cards.
Thank you for hosting every month, Vee; I hope you have a great week!

Oh, these are wonderful, Miz Vee! It makes me want to go back to Maine, feel that wind, and smell that air along the coastline! If a person hasn't visited your grand state yet, then they need to put it on their bucket list. It's a whole other world of coastal charm!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you are having fun with Photoscape. I miss that free program since I got my Mac. It's a powerful program and you can't beat the price!
Sorry that I can't join in on the party this time around. I am sneaking a little computer time in-between cleaning chores. I'm headed upstairs now to thoroughly clean the guest bath. Our out-of-town guests (from PA) are arriving tomorrow, so I don't have much time left for procrastination. Drats! No rest for the wicked, LOL.
Wow, I love these shots. Thanks for hosting, Vee!
ReplyDeleteThe editing on the top photo really made a difference, I see what you mean about the trees. Aren't you glad you're more photography savvy now? :-) Love the bit of pink sky in the last photo.
ReplyDeleteWhen looking for a theme this month, I saw those cute little chicks again I photographed in the back room of the farm where I buy butter and eggs - all waiting to go to their new homes.

What a gorgeous place to visit, Vee- the first pic reminds me a little bit of where I grew up.
ReplyDeleteI miss the water every single day, something one doesn't easily "shake off."
Hugs.
Gotta put Maine on my bucket list. I would love to rent a house on a beach and have a clambake!! Nice notecard photos.
ReplyDeleteI think Owls Head Maine should pay you to produce post cards! Those are wonderful, and I love the difference you made. I need to learn how to do that. I've tried to edit mine, but I'm not so good at it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the one with the sailboat. (I always feel the need to pick a favorite. It's a little game I play as I click through links and enjoy the notecards. )
Oh my goodness.... I want to visit Maine! Just beautiful! Absolutely gorgeous pictures.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so pretty. I'll have to get up there again soon.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that the Note Card Party was next week. I'm at HT on my laptop and all the pictures I had picked out are on my big computer. I'll just have to post them next month.
I love your pretty BLUES...and I love your Note Card Party...I don't intend to miss even ONE...I have your button on my sidebar as a reminder. :))
ReplyDeleteI like the photo with the pink in the sky the best.
ReplyDeleteMerle.........
Looks like we both went back in time Vee! Love the 3rd and 4th one best! That water looks so blue! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOK, Maine just got bumped up several notches higher on my places to visit list! Lobster rolls, ice cream from your favorite shop, and enjoying views like this, just beautiful. Oh, and I want to eat lots of Maine blueberries, too. Thanks for hosting, Vee. xo
ReplyDeleteAhh, the way life should be!
ReplyDeleteThese are really beautiful photos Vee. Great idea to show off your beautiful state's coastline. You did a great job in your editing too. Thanks for hosting again. Hugs, Pam
ReplyDeleteOwls Head would be a gorgeous place to visit!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
Editing can bring new life to old photos! I think these shots are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful area where you live, Vee. Lovely photos! Thanks again for hosting this fun party.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, blue water scenes! I've never been to this part of the USA, it's on my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
Thanks for hosting the note card party. Love to see what other people do for photography. Owls Head is a hop, skip, and a jump from me. I love your photography, don't beat yourself up. Trees, do look better. I look back at my old photography and say... what was I thinking? It's all a learning process. Good, better, best never let it rest... till your good is better and your better best. Have a delightful day Vee. ~ Abby
ReplyDeleteMaine does have a beautiful coastline Vee.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea to look back and Photoscape brought great definition to the trees!
When I look back on my early posts - I didn't even know I could make the images larger!!! We all have to learn as we go I guess.
Thank you for making this lovely party available to everyone - it's such a good theme!
Shane ♥
Nice to "see" you today, Vee! I do miss your more frequent posts. Thanks for hosting and happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteLovely scenes...
ReplyDeleteVery pretty new blog look...
(cough...sneeze...hack...)
Great job. My favorite is the one with the bushes and berries on the left side. Having trouble with finding my photos and only partly got my post done. I will try again. Occasionally I cannot get into my stored shots of party buttons, etc.
ReplyDeletePeggy
Love playing with programs and photos! It's amazing what we can do now isn't it. You should see what our tech guy does with photoshop at work! AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Mother's Day!

Those are magnificent photos Vee. I bet there is allot of gift places there, that would love to have your note cards in their shops.
ReplyDeleteI love Maine, and your photos make me want to take a trip again. I have watched your photography get better and better over the years and now with the lovely enhancements, they are perfect.
Happy Note Card Party.

Your photos are beautiful Vee. What a lovely place.
ReplyDeleteVee, You have a gift with that camera I am telling ya....
ReplyDeleteI love these photos, Vee. Your coast is not much different than my coast in some places. Rocky shores are the norm here. Editing can make such a difference in photos. I'm learning more and more as I go along.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to be able to join in to the party this month, albeit somewhat late. Have a wonderful day! Thank you so much for hosting us all.
I think your photos are all beautiful. Makes me want to plan a trip to Owls Head.
ReplyDeleteYour notecards are beautiful Vee. BTW - I loved seeing the pictures you had on your Mother's Day post as well.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. The touch up example was great. It did make quite the difference.
ReplyDeleteI'm so late today, sorry!
ReplyDeleteI love Maine! What a wonderfully beautiful place! That ocean color is amazing!
I like what you did with editing....I'm learning slowly, to do some of that.
Deanna
I'm taking notes...of names and places in Maine. Who knows...maybe I will see the same scene with my own two eyes one day. Great note card pic's!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos this month.......mine are now posted!
ReplyDeleteAND, your photos of Maine are striking. Such a deep blue to the ocean and the skies were perfect for your captures. They are all so pretty and I'm partial to the sailboat! It says "Maine"!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration again this month, Vee. I so like this group!
Hugs

ReplyDeleteI got here...and still working on my link up...I made it! Oh wow on your pictures...I so need to travel...I am missing so much of what God has created! He is a wonderful God.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...it saved me a plane ticket.
Hugs
Gorgeous photos, Vee! The coast of Maine is is so beautiful. I wish I could have joined in this month, but i needed to use more than four photos in my last post. I am lucky to get up one post a week these busy grandbaby days,
ReplyDeleteand such a pretty place! xx
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Main - looks like the coast is really beautiful! The color of the water against the color of the sky is just stunning!
