Do I have my parties mixed up? No, I just wanted to share some of my food photography experiments. I've been saving some of these for a while: the potato chip with a heart center that John propped up on a plate for me to find (taken in July); the bacon sizzling in the pan, the pumkin somethin, the birthday cupcakes from last evening, and the *baked apple* from this morning.
~just loved all the colors~
Oh those fries! This photo is my personal favorite for this particular challenge. Thank goodness, John wanted French Fries for breakfast last week at the Fryeburg Fair; otherwise, I would have missed out on this picture.
Ha! A food challenge. I don't find eating it a challenge but photographing it is another thing. Love the french fries shot...
ReplyDeleteThey look like I could reach for one right through the screen!
Have a great weekend.
it wouldn't do for me to take on a food challenge ... i'm afraid it would all go into my tummy! ;) i love fairs -- food and all. i've been wanting french fries all week. shucks!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the wonderful stuff in jars! I just love the food offerings at any kind of fair. I should have gotten pictures from the Farmer's Market too . . . . Food for thought! Ha, ha.
ReplyDeleteYou just prove my usual point that you don't have to have a high $ camera to take great photos! Of course, I wanted to dive right into the french fries, LOL! And the collage make me smile with all of your practice shots. The two fair photos are charming reminders of Americana. My favorite is the one with all the produce jars! Beautiful job on the post-processing. I am a big fan of contrast! Give me a high-five, Vee. You didn't need to sweat this challenge at all!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh its the lovely preserves for me too...I so love making Jellies and Jams...the pantry is loaded and as soon as I find my camera box (I could misplace my head were it not attached) I will post a picture of all the fun I've had!
ReplyDeleteFryeburg Fair. We saw the signs to the fairgrounds when we passed through...and I felt like I had actually been to that fair...thanks to you.
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing at Ellens'...about not finding eating a challenge. I'm with her on that one! Why is it that I am needing french fries at 9 am?
If I'm ever fortunate enough to go to Maine again, I want it to be when the Fryeburg Fair is happening!
ReplyDeleteNow THAT would be fun!
DeleteThe jams and jellies are my favorite! WOW! They would make a fun banner, too! You found some wonderful colorful food to photograph. I had a little trouble with that part....we eat a lot of dull looking food! haha! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love canning and hope to return to it when I retire so the fabulous photo sure stirred my heart! Love pictures!
ReplyDeleteI often intend to photograph the things I make, but then I forget and eat it, haha.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of the jams and preserves, so pretty!
Vee
ReplyDeleteYour makin me hungry!
It's been year since I've been to a fair.
Your photos make me realize what I've been missing.
Hi Vee! These are great photos! You must have had a great day, as far as light is concerned? That last pic is amazing.
ReplyDeleteMay I just say that your husband is such a sweetie! He got a heart in that potato chip? Love that :)
Ceil
It's all a delight, a true feast for the eyes. I am enjoying all the shapes and especially the color.
ReplyDeleteSome of my favorite foods: bacon, baked apples and fries! Hope you two have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteGosh Vee, that is one amazing fair for the fruit and preserves display. A very nice photo, and the fries? A great macro shot that is making me crave some of these yummy looking potatoes. The mosaic was a nice idea, a heart chip is probably a once in a life time find for a romantic husband.
ReplyDeleteJudith
So many wonderful things in this post - the heart-shape in the potato chip is so sweet, I'm drooling over the french fries, and love all the jams and jellies. Such rich colors.
ReplyDeleteFun food photos, Vee! I'll bet the fair was a great time. How was the birthday dinner? xo
ReplyDeleteOh wow!! French Fries!!! What a terrific shot!
ReplyDeleteLove the others as well...Fairs are Always fun!
hughugs
I like your photos and the editing. And the collage is so nice. Quite a potato chip! You've done a wonderful job in my humble opinion.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to visit this fair sometime, adding it to my ever growing bucket list! Not a big fan of french fries (prefer mashed) but those look awesome! xo
ReplyDeleteWhat great shots! I liked the photo with the open bag of potatoes and the last one of the jellys and jams.
ReplyDeleteYou for some great food shots there.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet for John to give the heart potato chip. : )
Okay, now I really want some french fries! Great photos! ♥
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I love to photograph food too...then eat it :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful!!! all are great!!
ReplyDeleteLove these food pictures. The collage is excellent and so pretty (and tempting). I love the colourful jars at the fair. And fries, homemade ones!, are so good. Great job Vee!
ReplyDeleteVee, these are great picture..my food pictures usually look so awful and unappetizing..lol Maybe one day I will concentrate on fixing that!
ReplyDeleteLove, Mona
Ok now I'm hungry. Everything looks fab even that sizzling bacon!
ReplyDeleteOh dear...this food challenge of Donna's is making me hungry tonight. I want to dig into John's breakfast right now...or do I want your baked apple? I think I like breakfast at your house! No boring cereal there!
ReplyDeleteI love your Fair pictures! The rows of colorful jars and baskets of fruit and veggies are quintessentially "fair", don't you think? Great shots, Vee!
The bacon takes 1st Prize for moi.....:))
ReplyDeleteVee,
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are awesome, I really, really like the pictures from the fair, especially the one of the jams. You're right, very colorful and something about the abundance of the jars! I take horrible food pictures, those fries are mouth watering!!
I think you have a new (to me) blog design and I love it!
XO,
Jane
The food at the Fryeberg Fair is so colorful! What a pretty array of food. How was the baked apple? I clicked on it to see if the recipe was anything like mine and it was mine! I like it because it is so quick and easy.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
We both love it, Barb! We'll be making it again.
DeleteYum Yum!!! I love your mosaic of food Vee - what a treasure your John is making a heart in the potato chip for you!
ReplyDeleteI love the stand of jams and pickles - so colorful and beautifully presented.
have a happy weekend
hugs
Shane
I would hate to say this in the hearing of my shiny red Kodak, but I really do long for a schmancy camera. I wouldn't need the schmanciest one on the block, just something schmancier than a point and shoot Kodak.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE that potato chip heart!
Wish I was there! I love potatoes in any form.
ReplyDeleteThis post has made me hungry :) You did great on the photos.
ReplyDeleteI'm heading now to check out your baked apple link.
I love what you did with the pictures around the title. Very creative. The jams and jellies look delicious! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI like your mosaic! All the photos are nice. And you're right, the riot of color in your fair shots is great. As for the French fries, well, you just can't beat a good potato! Nice!
ReplyDeleteI love the bags of potatoes almost bursting open...........for years they got such bad press but are actually such a wonderful food if eaten sensibly (fries may not quite qualify as healthy, but a few are fine if the oil is not rancid as in some fast food places). Your fries pic make me want to grab one!! I always think of my mother when I peel and boil, or roast, potatoes - when she was under the weather she would always eat just freshly boiled potatoes with a little parsley and butter - plain but satisfying she would say.
ReplyDeleteGreat images Vee - like you I'm using a Nikon Coolpix (the S6400) these days as my hands and arms are painful and the SLR much too heavy. Took all the pics on this Europe trip with the little Nikon and am pleased with them.
Those jams and pickles look really good in your shot - great job.
Hugs - Mary
Great take on this month's challenge!
