Dicey

This was my afternoon tea yesterday. It is getting to the place where I must have afternoon tea and no little herbal number either thank you. Yesterday was a lovely English breakfast tea; today, I'm going to try the Irish breakfast tea. The Goldfish? Just like stealing candy from the grands.

Oh my! What are they doing there? More on this another day...

John said, "Whatever soup you're cooking on the stove looks a little dicey."

Hahahahaha...what a card!

There'll be a whole lot of these in my day. It's a teacher's workshop so I have the grands. I'll be around later. Have a good one!

  2. Hi Vee,

John reminds me of my hubby, Hal. :) Those dice are so pretty and colorful; I haven't seen any like that before.

I know what you mean about the herbal tea. Not to offend any herbal tea lovers, but I have never cared for herbal tea. Let me know what you think of the Irish Breakfast Tea; that is one of my favorites!! It does pack a bit of a punch, though, so you probably don't want to have it in the evening. :)

Have fun with your precious grands, Vee!

    Hugs,

  4. Are those the missing taters? LOL. I'm like you and like real tea but will have the odd cup of an herbal, it just doesn't do it for me though.
I feel today is going to be a gaming day at your house. Have fun!

  7. What do you mean another day? Even my hubby is asking me if you ever found your potatoes. Blogging about goldfish when you should be answering the tough questions....like WHERE WERE THE 'TATORS? hahaha! Hugs!

  8. I understand about the tea and the need for something hearty. I don't find most herbal teas that satisfying, except for peppermint. LOL, I see that the potato sack that has been AWOL since before Christmas has shown up - finally! Was it in the car the whole time? Fess up! And I surmise from the dice photo that you were boiling them to disinfect. Perhaps they were a score from a thrift shop or flea market.

  9. I sense a mystery solved (potatoes?) and one presented (what are you going to do with the dice?).
I need to have some afternoon tea, though it's not quite 10am.

  14. When a recipe calls for diced potatoes, it doesn't mean you have to use actual dice Vee...
    :-)
I am enjoying imagining you quietly sipping tea from a fine china tea cup in the middle of a swirl of grandsons.

  16. I've been drinking a lot of tea this winter and Twining's classics have been in my cup many times too. I have the Irish Breakfast tea but haven't tried it yet. Hubby likes the English version. Your snack of goldfish suits me fine too. Yummy. Are those the missing potatoes??? Can't wait to hear that story. I'm guessing your sanitizing the dice? ;-) Enjoy your day with the boys.

  18. I have been drinking more tea too, I'm usually a coffee person, but I've been craving something a bit lighter and tea fits the bill.

  19. Looks like you found that missing sack of potatoes? I have to say I've never seen that combination...tea and goldfish on any of the "tea blogs" I visit. Fun times. A little dicey? Ha! too funny. Looking forward to the back story...

Don't you love teacher's workshops? Right up your alley! I think I might be raiding your dice stash to replenish a few that are missing from game boxes over here.

  23. Have you tried any of the tea with lavender and rose hips that Susan Branch talks about in her book? I'm thinking I've got to order some. She says it's like having dessert and I'm all for that!

Where did you find the potatoes? Or is this a replacement bag?

  27. Many mysteries here this morning. Dice on the stove? Are they being sterilized?
A bag of potatoes. Are they the missing ones?
As you make memories with the grands, I shall be pondering the possibilities. Have a fun day and don't feel any need to rush back, although I am curious to learn more. No pressure. Ha ha.
