There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where
colors are brighter, the air softer, and the afternoon more
fragrant than ever again.
~Elizabeth Lawrence
Why, yes, we did return to "The Garden" with the grands in tow. They seemed to enjoy their walk selecting the very path toward the sprinkler that John could not resist. Yes, we did load up a twisty willow tripod thingy as mentioned earlier in the week.
As I said to my neighbor when he jogged by, "I keep bringing
home the darnedest things."
Have a marvelous weekend!
Mmmmmmm, lovely misty, soft photo effects. Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteBut more! I want more of enchantment! More, please, more. :-)
I love and *lust* over blogs, which can become immersed in enchantment... Like "The House In The Roses" etc.
Shall we try enchantment?
:-)

The tripod looks amazingly at home in your flower bed. What will you plant there? Big blue morning glories?
ReplyDeleteThe boys look so cute on that same path. I can see why it's a favorite place. It does seem like a secret garden. It's wonderful that you share these adventures with the boys.
I love the mosaic of your grandkids. So soft, and yes, it looks very enchanting. It looks like a grand entrance to a fairytale world.
ReplyDeleteI've alway said men were the biggest chidden out there and now you have proved it by them all playing in the water! =)
I love your branchy topiary. Very cottage for a flower garden.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
A nice collage of the grands disappearing into the mist.
ReplyDeleteAs someone that likes garden art, the twig tripod looks very nice where you've put it.

This just delights my heart...nothing better than seeing God's creation and sharing it with little ones...precious and priceless
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful is this?? Love it. Enjoy your week-end!
ReplyDeleteVee - That quote at the outset of this post is a keeper - and worthy to be stolen for posting on my homsechool classroom wall! Thanks! Followed by your enchanted garden shots - LOVE them - the little one in the red hat reminded me of a carefully crafted children's book illustration of its young hero protagonist out upon adventure! Did you plan that little hat thingy? Grand with your grands - thanks for the smile and escapism seconds on this dull gray morning with threatening thunderstorms looming in South Jersey . . .
ReplyDeleteJoy!

Your photos are magical Vee. It's always inspiring to visit here.
ReplyDeleteOh, what precious, precious photos of the grands on the garden path! I love how your pictures show their progression (towards the sprinker!). Lovely work, Vee.
ReplyDeleteAnd your twiggy topiary has found the perfect home among your flowers.
Weekend blessings...
Sweet-ness. A very light and dreamy post.
ReplyDeleteLovely - I too would have returned for that garden twisty thingy - love it! Love the red hat :).
ReplyDeleteWell, who could resist the lure of the misty sprinklers? Not me, either.
ReplyDeleteI love the twisty tripod thing. What will you grow up it? Or will it be a solitary sculpture?
Great job on the photos!!! Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteGlad you went back for the twisty thing. : ) I like it!
Those photos are just beautiful Vee. I am looking forward to seeing what you have been teaching in the posts I have missed.
ReplyDeleteOh..and I have that twisty tripod thingy too...such a handy little thing.
What delightful pictures.
ReplyDeleteThe grands on the path is a magical shot for sure! I like that twisty thing!
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeleteI love curly willow and have snagged a few branches when I could! I like what you did with them.
Thanks for coming by.....I thought the birds were thirsty but we have plenty of water in bird baths. I think maybe it's just the heat but we sure wish they'd let the tomatoes alone.
Aww, what a beautiful sweet post! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteAww. What precious pics of the grandchildren in the garden. I love that twisty willow thingy. It looks great in your garden. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteI like your twisty willow thing! We have a twisty willow growing in the garden...and it needs pruning very often. Maybe I should get a little more creative with the 'prunings'!
ReplyDeleteLove your 'grands on the garden path' photo.
Your grands look like they are heading off into adventure land - is this a pathway to Narnia?
ReplyDeleteYour mosaic of the boys going to the secret garden is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos -- a cool misty mint green - with a pop of red! wink..When seeing the two boys in your photo reminded me of the part in my story when the two little boys went off playing they came upon a path in which all the plants smelled like mint, and sour apple. They were so curious that they followed the path which lead them unknown world. But they could not tell at first because their eye had to readjust because of the brightness and suddenly they were swap away on a magical carpet and not just any old carpet either).... anyway you brought back some sweet memories with my grand kids – wink! When I am with my grand kids we will often look at a photo and make up a story..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snapshots.. of your flower bed..
Hugs..
Beautiful pictures and a day to remember.
ReplyDeleteI love these photos Vee!
ReplyDeleteThe first set of photos reminds me of a painting by Monet of a child playing in his garden. The same dappled colors ...so lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe photos are lovely, just like paintings. Beautiful shots.
ReplyDeleteAnd there --- is that beautiful verse again --- and your lovely pictures! Happy week-end Vee!
ReplyDeleteVee I think you could win an award with these mosaics--especially the top one (but I am partial to green). You should consider posterizing it. It's just delightful and speaks "secret" or enchanted garden to me.
ReplyDeleteAlso thank you for sharing all you learned on the stat monitor. It was interesting that I have had similar observations though not in the detail of your research. I always wonder what it is about Wednesdays. And, I am amazed at the number that read and do not comment. I guess they just "cruise by." Have a good weekend!
Love it!
ReplyDeleteYour tripod thingy is great!
Deanna
Hi Vee!
ReplyDeleteI immediately was transported to my Grandma's garden when I was a child! The flowers were so gorgeous and so well tended by my Meme. She let me pick all the violets I wanted in the spring. And she had a long fence line solid with lilac bushes - you could smell them upon driving into her place. Thanks for the sentimental journey!
Big hugs, Edie
love the twiggy things
What a magical place! I expect to see Pooh walking down those garden paths or Eeyore moping in the corner.
ReplyDeleteAdore the first mosaic! Enchanting for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh Vee, these photographs are stunning, and I have never read that quote before, and it is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful weekend.
karen
Your pictures are so pretty and the mosaic even more so!!!
ReplyDeleteThe tripod thingy looks amazing in your garden...and I love the photos. :)
ReplyDeleteWell Vee had to go back a few post to comment on your stats post. Your photo work is excellent. Your subjects are great and so mystical looking for sure. I guess I learned a lot from your work on the stats. Thanks goodness I don't care what is there I have my post printed every6 months for my children anyway but good to know.I appreciate your no comments to show reverence to the weed-end and especially Sunday.
