Welcome!
The bowl of Cortlands is one of my very favorite photos of all time on the blog and it was taken way back in 2008. I broke all the rules by not using using daylight and with no clue about composition or any other thing. I may be regressing if the final two photos, taken recently, are any indication.
Ahhh the grapes and the recipe written in my mother's printing — horrid picture, out of focus and still I love it. You can find that recipe in my recipes located in my sidebar. I know that many of you have enjoyed a grape salad — so cool and refreshing and delicious!
I'm putting this post up a little early because I am on Nonni duty tomorrow. The grands are coming for lunch and spending the afternoon. Yay! This is the first time that I've had them both together for any length of time without a parent in sight. If you are the grandmother of active boys, you might understand this. ☺ Now that they are old enough to get along well and cooperate, I'm looking forward to having them both here at the same time.
Okay, let's have some fun!
Hi Vee, I like the earlier time, and I see I am first! Your fruit photos are pretty, I would love to have them hanging in my dining area. I'll be back later for more visits. xo
ReplyDeleteI like your kitchen theme, Vee.
ReplyDeleteI treasure those recipes in my Mom's handwriting too!
Oh boy! Let's get this party started! I have an important question on my post tonight! It's something about D. A.!!! heehee! I love your cards..especially the lemons! Enjoy your evening! I LOVE little boys! Have FUN!
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite picture is the lemons. So pretty and I love how you put them on a lovely doily.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your visitors, I like your apples I don't like eating them but do like pictures of them.
ReplyDeleteMerle.......
You don't like apples? That's interesting.
DeleteYour notecards are so pretty - I love them all! I have many of my mom's hand written recipes and treasure each one! This grape salad recipe looks yummy and would go beautifully on the Easter Brunch table! Have fun with your grands tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteVee,
ReplyDeleteI love fruit!
The apples are beautiful...my favorites are Gala.
The recipe is a treasure.
The lemons are so sunny and cheerful!
Have a wonderful day with the grands tomorrow!
Oh Vee, your fruit is beautiful, and your note cards are an inspiration. I am linking up for this month. Your party has me looking back at previous posts and remembering so many things. It's like opening up those boxes of Christmas decorations and memories come flooding back as you look at each ornament.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your grands tomorrow.
Karen
I like your lemon photo; it reminds me how gorgeous and cheery lemons are. The color is like the sun.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice collection of photos, Vee! Lovely note cards for sure! I am especially drawn to the colorful bowl of apples. But I am on my way to check out that grape salad recipe...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Nonni day...of such is the stuff of life!
Indeed I know the JOY of being with the grands. Got to spend Sunday with two of ours. I love the cards with the fruit theme. I am also partial to the lemons. Great job.
ReplyDeleteQMM
BTW I love your new header.
ReplyDeleteI like your fruit pictures and think they would make great note cards.
ReplyDeleteI'm skipping the note card party this time around. Just being lazy! : )
Have fun tomorrow!!
=D You're doing that new and wonderful thing: what you want to do!
DeleteWonderful fruit themed photos. The bowl of apples really is stunning. Don't you wish you could replicate whatever it is that happened to make that photo so great? My best photos often come out of nowhere.
ReplyDeleteI'm joining the card party but the linky isn't working and I can't add my link. I'll check back later. But my post is up. I love this party. Thanks again for hosting it Vee.
Hope tomorrow with the TWO grands goes well.
Your pictures are beautiful, lovin' that crochet doily too:@)
ReplyDeletePS-Trying to link up, no luck yet.
I LOVE these photos Vee! They're beautiful. I love anything with fruit.
ReplyDeleteI can see the other links when I click through... but it says "you're next" -- and won't let me click to do anything... so, I will put my link here for now. If Mr. Linky gets fixed later, I will correct. Can't wait to see what everyone else has posted this time! http://sally-drinkingfrommysaucer.blogspot.com/2013/02/note-card-party-220.html
I'm ever so grateful when you post the card party a little early because I also do a Wordless Wednesday post!
ReplyDeleteI adore the photo of bowl of apples too. Great shot! I always love your card parties, sweetie. Such fun!
I loved your first photo right away. I assumed the slightly blurry recipe card was out of focus on purpose, focusing more on the salad. And your last photo is superb along with the others. I like the way the subject of fruit gives you glimpses into your home and who you are! Have a great time with those boys tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I didn't have any trouble linking up.
ReplyDeleteHello Vee
ReplyDeleteI like the photos of fruit, and the apples are my favourite. I rarely think to photograph food except for the tea parties. I must have been bored because I played with my notecards to fancy them up. :-)
Thanks for hosting an interesting party each month.
Judith
I love the first phot also. They are all lovely but that one does have something special about it.
ReplyDeleteI love your fruit note cards, especially the lemons! I'm so tired of posting snow photos that I am doing flowers this month.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with you grans tomorrow and thanks for hosting.
Your fruit photos are lovely!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your grands tomorrow!
The apple photo is lovely. Hope you have a wonderful time with the grands
ReplyDeleteI love your fruity photos...:))
ReplyDeleteThanks, dear heart, for being so loyal hosting your lovely party each month.
I am running waaay behind as we packed and cleaned out a storage shed today...
but.....I made it. :)
xoxo
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteAll of these are good -- I love the homey kitchen theme, which is perfect for the cold days of February. I LOVE the bowl of apples; that is a great picture. I also love the last pic because I adore lemons. They're cheerful looking, and I love the taste. I like any recipe with lemon in it. :-D
Thank you so much for hosting and have a wonderful evening!
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Thank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteYay - I finally joined again, one of my FAVVIE parties!
Your bowl of apples in that bright and cheery bowl is so awesome!
I'm really enjoying looking around - thanks for doing this.
ReplyDeleteI love the bowl of apples! And I've jotted down the grape salad recipe. Thanks for hosting this fun party and have fun with your grands tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI love your note card selection, Vee. The colors in the apple photo are so vivid but the other compositions are equally interesting. I rarely take close up photos -- I must practice this!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your grandsons today ...don't let them wear you out..lol!
Found you through Michele's post and see a few others I recognize. What a fun idea. Your fruit pix make me long for fresh veggies and fruit! I miss the farmer's markets in the winter.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting.
Lady Linda
What a charming photo the bowl of apples is...a lovely still life. Thx for hosting :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great time with the kiddos,
Shawn
I like the fruit theme and that grape salad sounds very good. Thanks for hosting this great blog hop! I also like that it's only once a month because then I have time to visit everyone.
ReplyDeleteOh Vee you're just going to have the best day with your two boys!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that first image of yours too, with the recipe written in your mother's hand - lovely. I've got one of my late mother's recipe books and I refer to it all the time!
I love the banana image too - very special!
Many thank yous for hosting your Note Card Party Vee, especially as it's a busy time.
Shane
I guess I'm going to miss yet another note card party... I just don't have the time or physical ability to be a party girl right now. Well, phooey.
ReplyDeleteI love the one with the recipe the best of all. I'm all about hand written recipes from the past. (Or "receipts" as my grandma used to say.)
Hope you have a wonderful Nonni time!! (BTW, you cracked me up with a previous post about Downton Abbey.)
My favorite is the lemons, but that is because I love lemons! The most special one is the recipe in your mothers writing!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day with those grands!
Deanna
Thank you for hosting the party, Vee! I hope you have a wonderful day with your grandkids. Guess what, it's snowing here!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
I love your picture of the lemons on the crocheted cloth!
ReplyDeleteLovely and *homey* photos!!! They would be perfect on note cards.

Hi Vee. I was so excited to be able to link up to your party that I forgot to leave a comment. I love your fruit note cards. They are all great! I was actually able to link up on the Mac last night for the first time as I'd been going to the PC to do it. I finally figured it out on the Mac! We're getting snow here at the moment but it's been freezing rain and ice pellets too and may be rain this afternoon. Messy!! Thanks so much for hosting. I always enjoy visiting everyone. Have a great day! Pam
ReplyDeleteCan I still shop around for notecards...even if I never submitted any? Love the 'fruit in February' theme. I just came from checking out Lorrie's floral notecards. Most beautiful!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day with the grands!
Mmm....I remember my grandma making that grape salad. I've got a baby shower for three special ladies coming up in March...that might make the menu.
ReplyDeleteThe apple photo is my favorite. Those colors are stunning.
love your photos as always..BUT! I noticed that in your second picture of the bowl with the apples...I have the exact same bowl on my counter top holding my fruit..small world huh? OH, and do I ever get the active little boys together ALONE...haha, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos! Have fun tomorrow, being a Grandma is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCame over from Carol's Heirloom Collection! So glad i found you! Enjoy your grand-kids tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteKaren
I'm lovin' your note cards ~ although they make me hungry, of course (**/
ReplyDeleteThanks for the party! Hope you're enjoying the stuffin' out of those grandboys.
I love your blog. This is my 3rd party to link to, so I hope it works! Your photo's are so perfect and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the party.
Carol
I am #35 & #36 Vee. Sorry, but I didn't do #35 with a back link to you. Still learning :( But, I think #36 is OK. I am still learning. Glad to join your party - it's so much fun - especially, when I get my ducks in a row.
ReplyDeleteCarol
#35 is fine and the other was deleted because it took us to a blog that can't be accessed. Thanks so much for joining us! I had my own troubles with Mr. Linky this time so I understand completely. Not a problem.
DeleteHi Vee, I added my link to - The Beauty of a Blizzard. Your photos are grand as always. I hope you have a wonderful time with the boys. Thanks for hosting this note card party. ~ Abby
ReplyDeleteThat is a great shot of the Cortlands. Your moms grape salad looks yummy! I totally understand about the grand boys, I have two the same age and when they get together, the house is a buzz :)
ReplyDeleteLove the lemons crisp white! So cheerful for this time of year. This is my first time joining you. Thanks for hosting.~Jodi
ReplyDeleteI have my mother's lemon cheesecake recipe in "her hand" that I cherish. The grape salad sounds divine and on my must try list, XOXO
ReplyDeleteHi Vee! Sorry I missed the party! Lotsa purdy notecards out there! I think I love the apples best. WHatever you did on that photo just worked perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI have plenty of bowls here - we'll wait on y'all IF you'll bring that yummy grape salad! Looks great!
What a wonderful set of notecards you've posted this month! The bowl of apples is stunning, but the recipe card is a treasure. Enjoy making memories with your grandsons tomorrow. Mine are 3 and 10 months, and I can't wait until the little one is old enough to join big brother at Nonna's house without the parents...
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to see the creativity in your friends note cards posts. Thanks once again for hosting this gathering of like minded friends!
ReplyDeleteI certainly understand having mine for 3 days and 2 nights. I am exhausted!
ReplyDeleteHey, this looks like it was fun Vee! I don't know anything about your note card party but I'm going to have a look around and find out. :)
