Shortbread Cookies~Mosaic Monday
Cheryl at Thinking About Home has this simple and delicious recipe for shortbread cookies right *here.* Hers are prettier, but mine taste just as lovely, I'm sure.
I made them to enjoy while I watch the final episode of Downton Abbey's season three. Tomorrow we'll chat, but I'll put a great big old Spoiler Alert in my title as fair warning. I know that some of you will be watching later, but I'm tired of waiting for you to catch up. < insert mean snicker >
Linking to Mary's Little Red House for Mosaic Monday. Come see what everyone else is chatting about!

ReplyDeleteCookies look great!

Have a good week

I love shortbread, I'm on the lookout for a cute but not expensive pan. Never watched DA, can you believe it? Too many of my faves are on at the same time. Wish they would repeat them in the summer when there is nothing to watch. Maybe I would get caught up. ;-) xo
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeleteI was just watching episode One on Netflix. Can't seem to get enough of this wonderful series. I love shortbread cookies, especially with a nice cuppa.
Have a wonderful evening. Thank you for your compliments about my little bunnies. My daughter says I get excited about dirt. I am interested in so many things that somedays I wish I had those blinders they put on horses so I can focus.
Karen
I am so sad to see the series end for the season.
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look delicious!!
One of my favorite cookies! Great photography for MM ~ thanks for your comments ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteYour shortbread cookies look delicious! Wish I could have one now! Thanks for sharing the recipe link. Have a happy week ahead!
ReplyDeleteOh I looooovvvve shortbread cookies, one of my very favs. Not a single one is safe - I gobble them all up way too fast, enjoying them with my tea - so I try not to make them TOO often because they are so so so so good.
ReplyDeleteYours are very purdy!!
Happy Downton Day.
Hugs.
I've been watching this series. I wondered how far we are from the end. How many more mistakes can they make, I wonder. Poor Ethel! How she's judged! You'd think people would be more compassionate and desire to turn a girl from that direction. It isn't as if they aren't all hiding their own dirty little secrets! I just saw the 'cricket match' one last week. I'm ready to see what trouble they've gotten themselves into again. Oh, Edith! Jumping from the frying pan into the fire? Debbie
ReplyDeleteOhhh, last episode of "DA" for this season...? Well, sorry it's over for now, because you look forward to this program.
ReplyDeleteBut you will really enjoy the last, since it will be accompanied with shortbread cookies. :-)
Is it the moon? I suggested we get a single serving of dessert, for this evening here, too. Mine a G/F delicacy... and his, a very, very decadent chocolate one. :-) Hmmmmmmm.... Must be the waxing moon... :-)
"Auntie"
Those cookies look fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteI will be watching tonight, final episode :( and I wish I had some of those shortbread cookies for a tasty treat.......

The French Hutch
I like shortbread cookies - yummy.
ReplyDeleteI'll be eating chocolate chip mint ice cream tonight while watching Downton Abby. I'm sorry it is the last episode. Seems like it just started!!!
They look great...love the heart shapes. I will close my eyes tomorrow, because I am just beginning to watch the first season...lol
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
I love that your photo is a frame within a frame! How clever you are! We watched some during the day today and now we're waiting for the new episode to start! (in case you wonder what in the world I'm doing on the computer while D A is on! heehee!) Talk to you soon! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look yummy. I feel as though I should go take a nap - Downton Abbey comes on so late here in Colorado; but I always manage to stay awake - wouldn't miss it especially tonight! Sally
ReplyDeleteYum! I have not baked in a long time - don't need the temptation.
ReplyDeleteNow on to DA :-D I have seen all of season 3 - Oh My! But still rewatch it as it comes on each week.
Thanks for stopping by. She was a very meticulous/prim and proper person, so I can see her learning to write in script very early in life.
Have a great week.
Just started watching Season 3, so thanks for the spoiler alert. Your shortbread cookies look divine! I'm staying away from sugar and wheat, however, so I'll just have to imagine how delicious they are. And I've got a GREAT imagination! ;). xoxo
ReplyDeleteYummy! Now all of a sudden I want to bake coolies!
ReplyDeleteOops wasn't done...coolies what I meant cookies...I need to watch Downton Abbey everyone just raves about it..
ReplyDeleteThose look so yummy! I just started watching it and I'm only in the 1st season, thanks for the heads up, I'm not too worried about things getting spoiled for me.
ReplyDeleteMmm, cookies and tea for watching Downton, where I am about to go in one minute - in front of the TV to watch it.
ReplyDeleteJudith
They do look yummy. I broke the rules and ate a bowl of Rocky Road ice cream while reading. A big bowl.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure these cookies are "melt in the mouth" good, Vee! I splurged and bought a blueberry pie yesterday to enjoy with tea today...it's my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI am going to invest in the boxed set of Downton Abby whenever it comes out so I can enjoy it one episode after the other. The bits and pieces of it that i've seen I enjoyed so much!
Have you seen the episode that aired on Christmas Day in Britain? That is a must see.....takes place a year later and not at Christmas time.
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look wonderful - I love a good shortbread with tea...
Can't wait for the chat tomorrow!
Deanna
The cookies look delicious. But I best not bake any as I would eat them all myself and I'm not supposed to have much sugar.
ReplyDeleteI do think that shortbreads are such perfect cookies with a hot cup of coffee or tea! Great choice to go with the Downton finale! But ohhhhhh...the Downton finale...
ReplyDeleteI will be back tomorrow to join in the discussion!
Your cookies look delicious , I better not look too good as my mouth is watering alreadyq. We already. Had our last episode of Downton abbey, now waiting for the next series.
ReplyDeleteI dearly love shortbread cookies and would make these in a heartbeat but we are back to watching our weight...bummer....cutting out everything WHITE until we lose a few lbs. I am sooo thankful for my Ideal sugar sub. I always miss bread, too....:(
ReplyDeletePretty cookies and who can resist shortbread! Thanks for the DA spoiler warning - I will need to come back to it as soon as we've watched the whole season - we're just at the 3rd episode so far! I just love it! Have a wonderful day today - it's Ontario's Family Day holiday today so I hope to start the week with a nice vigorous walk and sauna (a sort of spa family day!).
ReplyDeleteOh - and I love your new header - beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love Shortbread Cookies and these look wonderful! YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteYour cookies look lovely and the photo presentation is beautiful!
ReplyDeletegood morning! The cookies look amazing, but I am having to restrict my sugar, so I will just admire yours..sigh. I am excited to read your post about season 3 as I was just sick over that final episode...Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look so great and yummy! If I bake, I eat. Keith doesn't eat sweets very often and is good at saying no, but I'm not good at saying no.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeleteI love your mosaic, and I LOVE shortbread cookies. I'll have to check out Cheryl's recipe -- thanks for the tip. :)
Oh dear, Downton Abbey. Unfortunately (or fortunately, as the case may be) I saw a spoiler online at the beginning of the season (January in the U.S.) Boy was I mad because the spoiler about Lady Sybil was in the same article. It was a British newspaper, and they really should put a spoiler alert at the top of their articles. Anyway, my husband was so stunned at the way the episode ended, he said he may not watch it anymore. I think it may have gotten a bit too soap opera-ish for him; he really liked the first season the best.
I have a feeling we'll still be watching though. Visiting from Mosaic Monday -- have a great day, Vee!
Denise at Forest Manor
I want some of those cookies! They look wonderful. I'm really late to the Downton Abbey party, just watching season one on video...but that's OK. By the time I get around to where everybody else is, I'll forget any spoilers I read.
ReplyDeleteoh delicious! I love shortbread. And Downton Abbey - well I love that too!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
hhhhmmmm ♥
ReplyDeleteLove this mosaic of your cookies. I'd could eat a few right now. :(
