When it became apparent that we would not make it until the end of the month without another grocery run, we decided to take the scenic route.
Left to Right
Row One
1. Spider Lily just bloomed today!
2. This little barn sits behind this
3. Larger Barn...have always loved the red. There's a lake back there barely visible, too.
Row Two
1. Another red barn barely visible through the fields...must get closer to this one someday!
2. Love this barn, though it doesn't show up well through the trees. It is not far from my home and, as a child, I spent many happy hours on this farm.
3. Another view of the nearly invisible barn
Row Three
1. The land is posted, but I saw nothing about taking a photo.
2. The fields where I played.
3. Yes! I really do love that lily!

Red barns make me feel good. I don't think they paint them red here in Florida but don't they make you proud to live in this beautiful country? Hugs!
ReplyDeletelovely country ride to the market. Kind of takes some of the sting out of having to go if you make a day of it.
ReplyDeleteYour mosaic is awesome, makes me wanna take a nice long country drive for sure. Country is right north of us, wouldn't be difficult!
ReplyDeleteHugs.
That's a very pretty lily and I'm sure it was delighted to be the feature photo of your mosaic. The barns and fields are equally charming. You live in a wonderfully scenic part of the world. The drive would make grocery shopping a pleasure, I hope.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful mosaic of your drive through the back way. I love the barns, visible, and barely so. It's nice you could see the fields where you played as a child. The lily is a beautiful and I don't believe I've heard of a spider lily before. I hope you are enjoying the much cooler weather. :) Have a great week Vee!

I hadn't heard of a Spider Lily before, it's beautiful. Also beautiful is the red barn. I love me some red barns, you know. ;) Your scenic route to the market is the one I'd want to take every trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us along on your trip to the grocery store! Did you hear us oohing and aaahing in the back seat? Lovely sights we saw...loving those barns and seeing where you played...and ending up back at (your) home to see that spectacular lily!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful countryside, look very peaceful.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures take me back to simpler times. Lovely. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very quiet and rural there, Vee. I love the red barns and all the trees.
ReplyDeleteLife is beautiful for you! What a lovely place to see in your 'everyday' world. Ours is not nearly as scenic....but 'Home' is HOME!
ReplyDeleteI love that lily too.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeleteSo nice to meet you!
I love where you live!! When I was a little girl, I always dreamt of living in a tiny house, with pretty flower-filled window boxes to welcome visitors, surrounded by fresh, green landscapes...in other words, your place!!
Your mosaic is breathtakingly beautiful; I miss that North American countryside as I appreciate a little rainfall in the summer. It's gifts are lush, green fields of prettiness!
Thanks for visiting and have a happy week!
Poppy
I love a ride thru the countryside. The spider lily is beautiful and I love red barns A lovely place to live. Lovely images! Have a happy week, Vee
ReplyDeleteLove them all but mostly the lilies and the red barn. We don't see many red barns around here, and I am so fond of them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic Vee! I love old barns too. So many are disappearing these days. Your lily is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely ride that was. I love, love, love red barns. I actually love all barns. I would love to make a barn into a home. Not practical, I know.
ReplyDeleteYour lily bloomed into such a beauty. A most fitting beginning and end to your lovely mosaic.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved a drive through the countryside. I most enjoyed a glimpse of your drive today.
A beautiful mosaic...You find beauty all around and you have eyes to see.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious… How big is the bloom on your lily? Some of them can be very large.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we just need that country fix, don't we?! The barns you photographed are really beautiful.
Oops. I jusr replied to the no comment blogger...well, I will take measurements next time one buds...in a day or two. Sadly, this one has gone the way of all daylilies. I'd guess that it is as large as my outstretched hand.
DeleteGorgeous photos, Vee! I love red barns too. :)
ReplyDeleteCountry drives are the BEST! And you only go to the grocery store once or twice a month? Mister Jim likes to go once or twice a week! And that is a pretty spider daylily - red barn too!
ReplyDeleteThe more you can stay away, the less money you'll spend. I think.
DeleteThanks for taking us along on your grocery run. Most lovely! I forget what it is like to do a big grocery shop these days...it seems I am in the store for one or two things every other day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous scenic route!
ReplyDeleteLove the spider lily and that RED barn? LOVE!
This Friday is my big bi-monthly trip for food. These people around here insist on eating - several times a day! Can you believe it?
Have a lovely day!
Deanna

ReplyDeleteEveryone should take the long way to the grocery store. There is always interesting things to see by taking the scenic view. Valerie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic Vee. Isn't it amazing how a red barn perks up any landscape? I too have my yellow day lilies blooming. Summer could last a whole lot longer for my liking.
ReplyDeleteit is always nice to go a different way instead of the usual path. And your views are lovely.
ReplyDeleteSpider Lily? We call it a Day Lily here - I have a couple in my garden and would love to have some new colours.
Have a wonderful week, and thank you for stoping by my blog yesterday.
A spider lily is a specific type of day lily. There are so many varieties!

ReplyDeleteI got to see the spider lily! It's a beauty Vee. Kind of nice not blogging for a week, I'm reading some posts, rarely commenting. Was excited however to find the cottage had WiFi added this year.

Glad you don't live as close to your grocery store as I do to mine, otherwise we wouldn't get to see your countryside!
ReplyDeleteBeing one block and a parking lot from our store means we shop as needed, instead of stocking up. Not sure if that saves money or not.
We have a local grocery so we shop sales there and buy milk and bread when desperate. Otherwise, we prefer the prices at good old Wal*Mart.☺
DeleteI do love your drive, beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteI buy what I can at Walmart too..the price is much more affordable!
Beautiful mosaic. Now I'm longing for a country road drive.
ReplyDeleteOh, my, what a lovely drive.
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty mosaic.
How lovely. It's been ages since I took the time to take a nice country drive.
ReplyDeleteVee your photos are really great - I see so much through them - they almost tell the story in themselves!
ReplyDeletexo
Simply beautiful Vee! I just love a good drive through the country! Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteYou must be out driving too Vee. Just giving you the heads up that I've scheduled posts and am off on my yearly camping trip! Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee!
ReplyDeleteI'll take the scenic route any day! Your scripture from Matthew on Sunday was wonderful - one of my favorites. Such a good reminder that God provides whatever we need not to mention the desires of our heart. Hope you're having a good summer Vee!
Big hugs, "Edie Marie"
Its all beautiful Vee!
ReplyDeleteEvery picture...As Sherry would say...Gods Work.
I want to thank you for the lovely comment you left. I a sure you...LOL.. Mistress Ryley is the doll in our family.
