Snow Falls
We packed a picnic and took off on a cool summer breeze one day last week. I haven't felt much like returning since.
All too soon, summer will be gone like water over the rocks. Hope that there are a few more cool summer breezes that we may run away on before then.
Hope the same for you!
What a pretty place. Out here we are still in high summer, though without the high temperatures of last week. It's pleasantly cool in the morning, and I needed a jacket when I walked the dog. My kind of summer weather!
ReplyDeleteI just love visiting all of your beautiful places where you live. Enjoy every minute!
ReplyDeleteOh, enjoy those cool summer breezes, friend! We'll all be here, and ready to chat when you return! {{hugs}}
ReplyDeletePretty pictures! We're having such nice weather lately, that I don't want to be inside or sitting in front of my computer, either. Enjoy these special, beautiful days of summer!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place for a picnic, and the sound of the water is always calming to me. I enjoy summer when it is cooler and less humidity. xo
ReplyDeleteThis makes me look forward to our time in the mountains. So.much. Beautiful pictures. I'm glad you had a relaxing time.
ReplyDeleteThe dog days of summer are kicking in and I've become rather lethargic as tends to happen as August creeps on to the calendar. A nice outing with the boys Vee, although I'm always nervous with the kids around water - especially our pond in the back.

Lovely cooling photos! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love summer time! I bet that water is cold year round! Enjoy your week my friend! We still have the whole month of August to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSummer is moving way too fast Vee. We need to get out and enjoy the cooling breezes on hot days before they are gone. Your photo and mosaic are beautiful. We're having a great 'get away' this week with lots of sunny hot days, cool nights and mountain scenes. Fredericton got 120 mm of rain on Friday and a total of 226 mm (about 9 inches!!) for July already!! There was a lot of flooding in the province. Is the water through the culvert from the same rain system? I can't believe it will be August in 3 days!! Take care. Hugs, Pam
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely place for a picnic. Our summer has been unusually cool & wet. It has been a welcome relief from the last 2 years of temps in the 100's. The cool breeze last evening was so nice, felt like we were in Colorado.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
Loved this! Gorgeous pictures! I can see why returning was difficult! haha Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteLovely views for a picnic! I've missed you. Glad you enjoyed some summertime fun.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place to picnic or just visit any time. We've lost some of our humidity and heat too, but I see it's on it's way back later this week.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!

What a lovely place to spend some time.
ReplyDeleteThis winter should be quite a change for us. Lots of snow falls here!! I'm kind of looking forward to it. But still I'm enjoying the rest of the summer and the fall should be beautiful here in the mountains as well!!
Ghost flowers! New flower to me. I am like you; once I get away from the house and am river side, I wonder why I ever leave the river. Today I am doing laundry, vacuuming etc etc...why? I *hope* I can ditch the four walls stuff and kick back by a stream with a good book later on. Wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteThat looks glorious! Your photos feel refreshing!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the cooler weather, and those grands. They'll be back to school soon!
Deanna
Beautiful! I can almost hear the rushing water and feel the coolness.....Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh what a gorgeous place! Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteI think I have to wait for some cool fall breezes. It's been a hot sticky Southern summer so far!
Beautiful!! WELCOME BACK! It has been darn right nice in the upstate/western NY area. Loving the cool nights. My sil tells me that winter will be here sooner then we think. Blessings
ReplyDeleteVee,
ReplyDeleteI had to look more than once at those white flowers. I thought they were icicles.they are beautiful..what are they?
Love, Mona
A fungi called either Indian Pipe or Ghost Flower.
DeleteMy I love your writing and your take on life!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm envious. I love waterfalls. I grew up in a town centered around one, and to this day I get all warm and fuzzy at the sight and sound of one. We don't have a single one in this part of Georgia. It looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of running away on a summer breeze.....
ReplyDeleteIt's just been too hot here to run away to ANYwhere. We olden people are all staying in under the air conditioners.
ReplyDeleteHowever, all the YOUNG people in the family have been hanging at beaches...sand...water...one bunch just back from 2 weeks in Mexico....the other bunch leaving tomorrow for the beaches...sand...water of Florida.
How delightful that sounds - to pack a picnic and take off on a cool summer breeze. It makes me see Johnny Gruelle illustrations from my Raggedy Ann books! And the pictures of your picnic look like a lot of fun, too! I'm just back from the cottage and it was really cold there today and is freezing here in Ohio, too. But I do believe we have some summer left!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to wander. We have had a little cooler temps and a little less rain and we are grateful.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place!! Looks like you had a great time and with good company too!
I keep complaining about the weather, but I will not be happy when the real, "snow falls"!
The white flowers are gorgeous, what are they? I have never seen anything like them!
Hugs,
Barb
It's beautiful! I'm looking for to our first vacation in several years and the mountains are my favorite place to go.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Vee, and memories for you all I'm sure. ~ Abby
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty place. I'm not looking forward to winter, we have had some cool temps the past few days and I keep thinking the way winter didn't want to end I hope it doesn't want to come early.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy what's left of summer. It's over far too quickly!
ReplyDeleteAh, making summer memories! We had a bit of a cool snap here - a record 58 degrees this morning! It was pleasant enough this afternoon that we could sit out in our gliders on the back porch for a while.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I really like these photo compositions!
ReplyDeleteIt is a brief season for sure! (Though I love fall and look forward to that season.) Sunny fall days are so beautiful and I love the cool evenings and crisp mornings that fall brings. Wish summer could linger a bit longer! Enjoy!

Gorgeous photos of your sweet picnic, dear Vee. Enjoyed your country drive photos too. They brought back my memory when we were in New England a couple of years back. I used to enjoy the country drive whenever we went to my brother's place, every Sunday, as we had to travel through that way to our church.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to find times to just be in the moment and leave the real world behind for a while?!
ReplyDeleteIt is always about this time of year that I want to reach out and take hold of summer and not let it go! I try to find beauty in all the seasons, but summer has always been IT for me! We've had a fairly mild summer so far --nothing like last years 111 degrees! I have enjoyed so much sitting in my rocker on the porch listening to the little fountain gurgle!
