A certain, very special daffodil is brightening the place having arrived just yesterday. It is a watercolor creation of Lorrie's and has this quote by G.K. Chesterton:
I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.
Here it is propped on my china cupboard along with the ivy, Easter eggs, and bunny peeking through. Makes me smile every time I see it. I used "watercolor pencil" from Photoscape; it's the only way I paint watercolors. A thank you doesn't seem like enough for such a sweet gift. Thank you very much, Lorrie. What a day brightener it was yesterday in sun and it is again today with the pouring rain.
it is beautiful, words andd painting, that photo is amazing, what beautiful vignette you have created, the watercolor turns the photos into such beautiful works of art, that is so cool, I can hang up my brushes!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely gift to receive. I love your "watercolor" vignette.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift and I love what you did. We had some rain yesterday but not enough for ducks to swim in ;)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and what a special surprise...don't you love getting surprises in the mail and how perfect to chase these rainy day blues away...such a bright spot and I love the editing on your photo...awesome.
ReplyDeleteLorrie is a talented lady and I like the daffodil and quote on the card. The watercolour of the mantel is nice as all the details are still visible. We're getting the rain now too although last night it turned into snow.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful and thoughtful of Lorrie. I love the vignette you created, Vee.
ReplyDeleteWe had buckets of rain yesterday.
What a lovely watercolour! Lorrie does some beautiful crafting doesn't she? I like the water colour applied with Photoscape. It is really beautiful. I hope that duck 'pond' isn't in your backyard!! Stay dry today!
ReplyDeleteDucks could use the puddles on the side lawn, but that is a photo of the river.
DeleteWhat a thoughtful lovely gift from Lorrie. A real day brightener!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! More than a random act of kindness, a very special gift from a gifted woman. It's just spring and sunshine in your living room, and I love the way the watercolor effect looks.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely gift..yep, weather is for the ducks here as well, lol. Blessings
ReplyDeleteLorrie is such a sweetheart and very talented, too. What a thoughtful and welcome gift. We are getting some rain this morning but it is welcome....fir sure! haha! Thanks for visiting with me this morning. Wish we were having that second cup of coffee together! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteOh, how very pretty and what a lovely surprise to find in your mailbox. Lorrie is very thoughtful and talented too.
ReplyDeleteYour spring touches on top of the china cupboard look so nice. The weather may not be cooperating, but inside it looks as though spring has sprung.
Lorrie has so many talents, not the least of which is making people feel loved. How absolutely beautiful, and just the thing for this grey and gloomy day. I am going to go make a cup of tea and light my lilac scent Village Candle to cheer me up.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, a very sweet and thoughtful gift! Your spring vignette is so lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet gift...both in image and in word....and you did a splendid job on that watercolor. I also use Photoscape for some editing and your wooden paneling sure makes a lovely design for that effect to work with! Beautiful!

ReplyDeleteHere I am, Vee. (smile) Your vignette looks lovely in the watercolor pencil style. I didn't know Photoscape had such - I'll be exploring!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great gift! Something to be treasured. We have dodged rain the last few days and it has turned out to be sunny and somewhat warm. Hope the ducks are loving it!

ReplyDeleteCan you tell I am not watching the baby this afternoon? My daughter had a half day of work :) My computer time is so limited these days but I would not trade the time I spend with my GD for anything!
