Same story/Day
Three ... and this will end it ... I promise! ☺
My little spray paint projects are finished for now because the can is empty.
~not chopped liver~
Here the trellis is tucked behind the box. You may remember seeing it yesterday in the garage leaning against the grill. No grills were harmed in the spray painting of this trellis.
Note the ice melt still sitting there in the milk bottle. Perhaps we'll be needing it as it's turned quite chilly again.
Are you as highly suggestible as I am? Linda sometimes shares cleaning projects with her readers. (I do love the dips bloggers take into sweet domesticity.) Anyway, she happened to mention this product; she specifically mentioned its wonderful fragrance. I asked her about it because I'd never heard of it. Have you? Yesterday, while shopping in a discount grocery store, I found it. And that is my mission today...spreading it around.
Now that reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask. Is there a cleaning product that you use and appreciate that others might not know about?
P.S. Thanks for all the great tips for storing sheet music. (See yesterday's comments.) More on this another time.
I have seen this cleaner but have not used it. Your porch looks very welcoming.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent cleaner for me is a mixture of water/vinegar/alcohol. I love the spray product ODO BAN for leaving a really fresh/neutral fragrance. Great for Harriet's "accidents."
I noticed those little milk bottles! Yes, your porch looks pretty and I love your front door color. As to cleaning product, I'm loving 1/2 dawn and 1/2 vinegar. Wow does that scrub up the tub so easily, and I like using it on my sinks too. :-) May not smell as good as the one you are showing. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have seen it. We found a great thing at Walmart: Arm and Hammer Soap Powder. It cleans everything and has hardly a scent. Makes your laundry brighter too. It comes in a box and it was only like $3, I'm sold on it. Your porch looks welcoming, btw. Blessings
ReplyDeleteLinda emailed me with this added info:
DeleteVee,
My apologies, I told you wrong..it is ARM and Hammer SUPER WASHING SODA!!! NOT Powder.
Cute porch. I have a trellis very much like yours. Here's my cleaning tip. I absolutely love white vinegar and water....for windows. I clean mirrors with isopropyl alcohol. It cuts any greasy residue. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteThat paint color is really nice and the trellis looks great. Yes, I have seen that purple detergent but have never tried it...I just might now though. I always keep a bottle or tube of that cheap orange smelling hand cleaner ($1 Store variety) in my laundry room. I haven't found anything quite as good for removing grease spots on clothing. Before laundering, squeeze some on the spots and rub fabric together, let set for a few minutes, and wash as usual. Sometimes it may take another application if it is really bad, but I have saved items I thought I would have to throw away by using this stuff. Sometimes I add a squirt or two of the oxygenated spray with it (I use a cheap version of Oxyclean).
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeleteThe porch looks great, I've been busy with yard and porch clean ups and it's all looking so good, it's nice to strep back and feel like you made something prettier isn't it? I love the Mrs Meyer's products. I actually found a big bottle of concentrate on the clearance rack at Kroger (the cap was broken) so it was a little more affordable, but it smells so nice I might splurge and get more when it's gone.
I still use Bon Ami...'.hasn't scratched ye't. But a 'new to me' product I use more now is vinegar. A dermatologist told me to put 1/2 to 1 cup in the washer during the rinse cycle for clean, fresh clothes. They not only don't smell like vinegar...they smell cleaner without any hint of fragrance. It was to help me with a rash I had developed and it works! I'm loving the suggestions of new products! Thanks! I mentioned you on my blog this morning! haha! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI mean haha....as a happy haha! HUGS!
DeleteI've used Fabuloso for years...I love it in my mop water for tile..just a great all around cleaner and, as you said, the most delightful fragrance. I buy mine at Dollar General.
ReplyDeleteYou porch looks very nice now!
ReplyDeleteI think I am using Mr Clean at the present time.
I have never heard of Fabuloso, but you've peaked my curiosity and must see if we have it here! I love a fresh smell after cleaning. Your porch is just lovely and it's a good thing you mention that was ice melt in the milk bottles--I thought it was real milk! XOXO
ReplyDeleteWell... I love the result of all your tinkering, polishing, painting and uncluttering.
ReplyDeleteI could take a lesson from it all.
I like Shaklee cleaning products myself. One spray bottle for everything.
Your porch looks great! The trellis looks much happier now. I try to use vinegar, baking soda etc to clean, because I don't like any kind of fragranced cleaning product.
ReplyDeleteI use Murphy's Oil Soap to clean my wood items but recently Deanna Rabe talked about putting a few drops of essential oil in when mixing it up to use. I'm going to try that soon since the dining table is in dire need of a good washing.
ReplyDeleteDid Deanna say which one she uses? I know that there is such a thing as Thieves cleaner because my sister-in-law gave me a few years ago. I just ran out!
DeleteI like to use Peppermint or Lemon! It makes everything smell really fresh!
DeleteIs that iris for me? I love it, especially since you enclosed it in a featured oval. Thanks. ♥
ReplyDeleteThis is a new product for me but the name seems to say it all. I like the lavender scented Mr. Clean for an all purpose cleaner in a bucket. I also bought 'Touch of Purple' (one would think I have a lavender purple sickness LOL) at a home show which is sprayed on and used to clean mirrors, glasses, computer screen, jewelry and more - and it's anti fog. Says on the bottle, made in Tampa Florida.
Your porch looks sweet Vee and I'm glad your birds got a fresh coat of paint. I was spray painting a lot of things on Monday - tables, and yard stuff. Fun! It's sunny and lovely here today but I hear we have 3 days of rain coming. :(
ReplyDeleteI use a lot of white vinegar and/or plain baking soda for some cleaning projects. Vinegar does sanitize and smells nice (at least, to me, anyway). Thanks for the cleaning tip. ~:)
ReplyDeleteI'm with the vinegar, baking soda, rubbing alcohol, Bon Ami crowd 95% of the time. Add in a bottle of windex, oxyclean, borax and I am ready for anything. One product that may not be widely available is Folex. It is a non toxic carpet spot remover that I used when I raised my two kids on wall to wall white carpet. Call me crazy...
ReplyDeleteI used your tip on getting stains out of bed pillows awhile ago. That was fabulous and totally worked!
I got to laugh because I have been using FABULOSO since I was in high school cleaning around here.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does smell like heaven but, I am so tired of it.. I think 2 decades already I have used it. anyways I have moved on to 409 industrial strength degreaser that you can only get at Lowes, or office depot. that stuff takes off anything even the black marks in your garage. I use it every morning to clean stove and the vent on top of stove. I love it.
Down here since we are a border town 5 min away from Mexico FABULOSO is CHEAP like a dollar cheap.and less in Mexico.
Your porch is darling love it.
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteYour porch is so welcoming. I wish I could come over and knock on your door!.
For my bathrooms I use straight alcohol on the potties and handle. Also Clorox wipes for all my counters and door knobs. Soft scrub is also a favorite of mine for tubs, showers and sinks.
I have not seen fabuloso.
I enjoyed reading everyone cleaning tips!
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
What a name for that cleaning product. I'll wait to hear from you if it truly is fabuloso. Your porch looks real nice!
ReplyDeleteChilly again, huh? (I'll trade...)
ReplyDeleteI have seen Fabuloso, but have never bought it. Maybe I'll give it a try. Recently, I have loved Method all purpose cleaner in the Beach Sage scent. I use it to wipe down my counters, stove, kitchen table, etc. I love the scent...but my girls both say that it reminds them of the guinea pigs (!!) because they used to have cedar litter in their cages. (I don't think guinea pig...at. all.) Method has had several really nice scents...grapefruit, lavender, cucumber melon. (A pleasant scent is so important in a cleaning product, I think!)
This product is new to me and I'm wondering if it's available up here in Canada?? I'll have to check. I love using Murphy's for all my wood floors and table tops - smells so clean. I have a fibreglass shower and the only thing that works on scum build up is Mr. Clean's Magic bar!!! I know it's toxic but it seems to be the only thing that works. I use thieves Essential Oil for a lot of things as well, including in my diffuser as an air refresher.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeleteI have been entrenched in domestic bliss cleaning from stem to stern this week. One of my favorite products and forgive me that it is not a natural solution but works wonders on just about everything, is Greased Lightening available at Dollar General. This is a cleaner for those super tough jobs and it works like a charm. When all else fails I turn to this product. Happy spring sprucing up!
I LOVE Fabuloso. It smells divine. My favorite is lavendar but I love the blue and green too. My new goto cleaning product is.......white vinegar and water. Degreases like a charm. Makes stainless sparkle, smell dissipates right away and a good natural disinfectant. xo
ReplyDeleteYou've been on a great fix-up gig these days. Fun to see the results. For cleaning shower doors, tubs and sinks, I've been using 1/2 Dawn and 1/2 vinegar. Even Tim has noticed the difference. I also use vinegar in my laundry as a fabric softener (in the washer) to avoid the chemicals of those products. Baking soda for scrubbing is another favorite.
ReplyDeleteWith a name like 'Fabulosa'...a yummy smell...and 20% more...what's not to like? Now I must see if it is available in Canada. Things are looking good over there on 'your front porch'!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Mrs. Meyers cleaning products. The lemon verbana is my favorite and smells so fresh and clean. I also love Dreft for my sheets and whites and the kids use it for bubble bath--it has a baby fresh clean smell. Hope you had a great day- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! What a great post Vee!!! I've loved reading all the comments too..women are so wonderful to share their best cleaning secrets!!! Now you've got me wanting to go get me some of this Fabuloso and also, I want to buy Dawn dish detergent and vinegar...I've already heard great things about this mixture. I hope you and your dear family are doing so good!! hugs and love, Dawn
ReplyDeleteI use the Dawn and vinegar mix for the bathtubs, it works great! And I like natural ingredients to clean, and have started to add essential oils to my cleaners to get a great scent!
ReplyDeleteDeanna
Your porch looks lovely! I wouldn't have noticed the ice melt if you hadn't mentioned it because we don't have ice to melt in my neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... a cleaning product. I really don't have anything special other than my unashamed love affair with Oxyclean and a little homemade spray cleaner that I make instead of buy.
Fabuloso is new to me. I'll be curious to see what you think of it.
ReplyDeleteYour porch spruce up looks great... so welcoming. I love the ice melt in the milk bottles. Looks like the milkman just made a delivery.
I've never hard of that either. How do you like it?
ReplyDeleteI have milk bottles and a milk box sitting outside my front door too. I think I'll fill mine too. : )
Can't think of any cleaning products that others don't know about off hand.
I've seen Fabuloso in the grocery store, Vee, but haven't bought it yet. I do love a nice smelling cleaner. I'll have to try some with your recommendation.
