This week marked the first snow of the season, which has helped to set the mood. I've been puttering with Christmas decorations. Something here; something there; nothing pulled together. I included the little graphic (from my own collection) because it so perfectly represents the size of my tree this year. Why, you might be tempted to think that I am growing old!
Join Mary at Little Red House for more mosaics. They're always a lot of fun. This week and next and next..., I'll be looking for ideas!
I love it! We decorated some today and it was fun! Wish I didn't still have a mess though! Hugs! ♥
ReplyDeleteVee,
ReplyDeleteLovely mosaic! We've got a little here and there. I think I saw a snowflake today, too!
Very pretty, Vee! After having our 14-month-old grandson here all day yesterday, we realize we cannot have our usual tree until he's older. Thus, this year our tree will be small - and will not have any glass ornaments!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to carry down the Christmas decoration boxes from my attic...still recovering from parade watching. shopping and turkey leftover eating ...lol! My MM is the parade...no time to do a new post either!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great holiday mosaic! It's so festive!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun mosaic. Oh how I live this holiday season and it's such fun visiting everyone's "homes." Thank you! Cathy
ReplyDeleteLove the mosaic and love the trim embellishment!
ReplyDeleteXo

Such a pretty mosaic! Snow would put me in the mood :)
ReplyDeleteLove your mosaic. I am so full of food from Thanksgiving and birthday on Saturday and movies and celebrating I am worn out. Do decorating for me today, just some quiet painting.
ReplyDeleteQMM
That should have said NO decorating.
ReplyDeleteQMM
You look ready for the Christmas season. I only have a few items put out. Have a great week:)
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of a little here and a little there. That seems to be my method so far. I've done the table....twice and I'm working on the Fireplace...had to finish heming a quilt before hanging the stockings. The Tree is standing in the corner...naked! I'll get to that, too. Very nice Mosaic...love the vintage look!
ReplyDeleteWonderful mosiac. I love the use of old cards and I want a Christmas cactus!!!! Lovely colors.
ReplyDeleteI love the nostalgia of your mosaic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the peek at what you're working with to put out, lots of nice festive items.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how as we get older, the tree gets smaller - I thought it was just me!
Judith
What a wonderful mosaic! They say we may not get much snow this year. I may need to rely on Bloggers to get my fill.
ReplyDeleteBreaking out the Christmas decor is always filled with such great memories.
ReplyDeleteSo fun!
Oh, dear...we have a smaller tree this year...and it IS because we are olden! :))
ReplyDeleteI thought I was a follower, Vee, but when I checked, I wasn't ...but am now.:)
Wonderful mosaic and photos. It is easier to do a little at a time and looks so pretty.

ReplyDeleteBeautifully done Vee, I do adore vintage anything, I like the idea a little here and a little there.
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I am going to get this mosaic thing right. You do such a beautiful job.Enjoy your day.
Thanks for your very sweet notes when you visit.
Hugs,
Sue
Lovely mosaic today Vee. The little vine embellishments are really nice.
ReplyDeleteAfter spending most of my weekend decorating I am coming up for air today long enough to go to work :).
Happy Monday.
A beautiful Christmas mosaic. Our tree is on the small side but I still love looking at it, even with just the lights on it. I plan to put some ornaments on it later today.
ReplyDeleteOh, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas:-) We got our tree this weekend and decorated it last night. We opted for a cozy little tree this year as well.
ReplyDeleteLove you Mosaic!
Rhonda
Such a pretty mosaic, Vee. Snow already? That is the only thing I miss from our days in Iowa...real snow. It does go a long way to making you feel all Christmasy.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are doing well with all you have had on your plate the last several months, but especially weeks. I think of you often.
Jen
Wonderful images, so festive and full of holiday cheer. It seems the older I get the smaller the tree and the less decor too. Perhaps it is not that we are getting older, only wiser, focusing on true spirit and meaning of the holiday rather than the decor, at least I hope that is what this means! Happy Monday Vee!
ReplyDeleteYes my Dear, you are in *danger* of being thought of as being "Olden" as Sweet BJ calls it. That's us! "Olden"!
ReplyDeleteThe other artificial tree was becoming just too much of a hassle for us to put together and take apart. It took fun out of the Holiday.
And there's nothing worse, than taking fun out of anything! ,-) So I said; "We get a smaller one" and we did and he was very, very happy.
At first, I wasn't all-that-pleased with it, to be honest. But now, with the sparkly balls on it, it's "growing" on me. And today, I'll add the sprigs of fake red/green berries, etc. and it will really come together. :-)
Pretty seasonal blog look here, now. I love how bloggers do-up their blog looks, for the Holiday Season! [How can some people, never change their blog look?]
:-)
I love mosaics - so much fun - like a treasure hunt!
ReplyDeleteI'm making a mess here at The Old Parsonage. Boxes of Christmas treasures everywhere!
A very charming mosaic.. I am not putting much out.a little here and there. Kids age grown and I am alone with my cat so do not feel the need to trim like I use to.
ReplyDeleteNo snow here in lower Michigan. have a great week
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteLove your Mosaic..
Gary and I will start decorating this weekend.I just put away the pumpkins..LOL..I thing I'm behind
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
Hello Vee! My but you've been busy decorating and getting all Christmas-y!
ReplyDeleteMolly looks like a little snow-puppy, and it's so very hard to go "wee" in the snow - little feet get cold! Do you have any flower-beds or shrubs up close to the house that aren't covered with snow? That's where my doggies like to go when it's wet. Kinda sheltered there...
Snow is beautiful, but I'm glad we don't get much down here in Texas. Of course, we have to imagine snow at Christmas time, but I don't do the "cold" very well.
I'll have to use some of last year's snow photos I suppose. We got a wonderful snow in February of '10 - first time in years and years!
I don't have my decorating done, but am going to have to hit it hard this week!!!
you have such an unfair advantage,
ReplyDeletewith the snow and all. are you saying
your tree is only three feet tall?
think how quickly we could decorate
it!
merry Christmas!
Hey! Hodgepodge decorating is my theme this year too! When I go to put it away after Christmas, I'm sure that some will get left out and will get discovered sometime around July...
ReplyDeleteI'm smiling about your comment about growing old...and thinking how I kept my Christmas decor so simple this year. Is it something to do with age? Great mosaic!
ReplyDeletePretty mosaic~ I love the border
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! We haven't started our decorating yet but my girls are really eager to get going.
ReplyDeleteErika B
What a beautiful mosaic! It seems as though all of blogland is busy shopping, writing out Christmas cards, baking, and decorating. We have not had any snow in our area yet but I'll bet it's beautiful. I hope we get a little for Christmas too.
ReplyDeleteLoving what I'm seeing!! It's fun to scatter little reminders of the season around.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas dear Vee! Hugs, Sherry
No decorating happening here yet! I'd best get busy.
