So if I'm missing for a few days, it's because I'm in the basement, garage, attic or somewhere.
Everything is in autumn mode around here. The flowers have had to be covered against frost and freeze warnings several times. It's only a matter of time before they look so tired anyway that I'll just let them go. In the meantime, I'm doing puttery autumnal things around the house...an acorn here, a bouquet there, repotting a cactus here, binning an old poinsettia there. How about you?
Thank you for another fun Note Card Party! You're the best group of gals that ever was! And I just know that you'll be using those cameras from now to the next party October 16 and posting some. How did the new rule work for you? I didn't take any new photos, but I used photos that I had not used before.
Oh one last thing! So many mentioned what a fun idea it is to exchange a tea cup or coffee mug. Stephanie's at it again and you can find out more by clicking on the button in my sidebar. I signed up for the mug exchange this time. Perhaps you'd enjoy participating, too. I'm sure that Stephanie would say, "The more the merrier!"
......And when you have finished with your basement, I have a bonus room that needs organizing and cleaning, Just can't seem to find the time~smile~ Thanks for the info. and invite to join the teacup and mug at Stephanie's.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day.
You are a busy girl. We are going home from vacation a day or so early to finish the garage-Bummer!!! We will be frosty here all too soon! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteSlightly disappointed Vee, I thought you were going to show a picture of your basement. I am in hopes of one day showing a picture of my attic/craft storage. But that will not happen any time soon. I'm busy about organizing the home, enjoying the Fall days. I know a sweet spot for Hydrangeas, might have to go pick some today. ~ Abby
ReplyDeleteOh, goodness. I missed the Note Card Party! I have a cold and feel sorry for myself and haven't visited cyberspace at all. UGH Don't get lost in the basement.
ReplyDeleteGood morning! Basement cleaning huh? You might inspire me...Thanks for the tea cup exchange invite, I am definitely going to check that out! Enjoy your day...even if it is in in the basement. haha
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine weather cool enough in Sept for frost watch...we are still in the 90's. ; (
Now I get it, I too am going to do some cleaning on my blog all around, that will have to wait until later as I have grapes to pick today However I still have a bonus room that needs cleaning and organizing, any volunteers. ~smile~ Enjoy your day, looking forward to seeing what you do, so I can borrow some ideas.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Vee. Another beauty of a day here today and I hope it is for you too. I just added "Labels" recently. Apparently I added them when I started blogging but didn't know how to actually 'add' them to a post until a couple of weeks ago. I finished my fall decorating yesterday and will have a post up in the next few days. Maybe even today. I think I'm going to bake some cookies today. Don't stay in the 'basement' too long on this beautiful day. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know my blog had a basement to clean :-). I have been tidying outside, composting the container plants and put some huge mums out the front.
ReplyDeleteToday I'm off to put my pretties away and spread some compost.
Judith
You are always so uplifting Vee... My blog is in need of some fall cleaning too...and sprucing up...have fun in your basement..
ReplyDeleteLove, Moan
It's been in the 40's here - no frost yet. I'm loving it - it energizes me:)I've been adding touches of fall here and there too. Love your new background!!
ReplyDeletexo
...and do you do windows! I did my "fall cleaning" before the move, so I'm go to go for at least until next year, XOXO
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the party, Vee! I'll be visiting more blogs today that I didn't get to check out Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteI need someone to clean my real basement; I don't know how in the world we accumulated so much stuff!! I added the labels gadget to my blog a few years ago; it was easy peasy to install, and I like it fine. I don't know how much my readers use it, but it's there if they want it.
Enjoy your fall puttering! :)
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Good Morning Vee. I have to do some fall cleaning as well. Since the bathroom is 99% done, it is time to start cleaning from top to bottom to get rid of all of the drywall/cement board dust.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeleteI have some "blog basement" to clean too...it's been bugging me for a while....and just like my home basement (I don't like that either) I tend to avoid going there. But you are setting the example to clean the blog house so I will follow your example. Can't promise it will be this week, maybe on the weekend! Enjoyed the note card party very much!

I got tired of all the 'collection' on my blog. The labels were the first to go. I bet I've got back to use those labels ..... not at all. Wish your fall was ours. We still had 108 yesterday but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank heavens it's on its way out.
ReplyDeleteYou have a way with word, no doubt. I always expect, and get a good chuckle from your posts. It was a good party. I just go with the breeze whatever is the rule I usually just go along. I feel the hostess of a party is the one doing the organizing and appreciate your work on it. I have been putting off doing my blog basement cleaning but gonna hit it soon. I have had to use my labels several times to find things I know I posted before.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the cooling down.
I need to straighten my real life storage room, desperately!! xo
ReplyDeleteSounds like you will be busy, dear Vee. Have fun :) And may you enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
Hard to imagine that you're already covering flowers. I guess I'm still in vacation mode here.
ReplyDeleteI just went down into your basement and see you have been busy with your labels. I added them several years ago. From time to time I go in there and edit a bit. When I visit new blogs I love to poke around in their labels. It gets me to the things I'm interested in quickly.
Your fall background is gorgeous.
I'm needing to clean my basement for real, heck...my whole house. I've already got the post ready for tomorrow, I'm going to be taking an extended blog break to do some of those chores I've been avoiding for too long now. I'll be peeking in to see what some of you gals are up to from time to time, but I'll not be blogging for a while. Take care and enjoy the fall season!
ReplyDeleteAutumn is such a beautiful time. I started decorating yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI'm not nearly as industrious as you. I don't know how much fall cleaning in the house or the blog I'll be doing, but you often motivate me.
Good for you! I haven't even reached my blog basement yet. I'm still on my overflowing Inbox! Yikes.
ReplyDeleteI just let the flowers die and don't even bother covering them in the fall. Not quite cold enough here yet to worry about that yet.
ReplyDeleteI don't even label my posts on my regular blog but do on my picture one.
I liked having the options on the Note Card Party.

ReplyDeletep.s. I meant to thank you for hosting the note card party. As always, it was lots of fun and I met a lot of new to me folks. I used one new photo, which worked great for me.
ReplyDeleteWell, my dear, you have a gazillion labels. Yes, I have the labels gadget added on my sidebar, and I confess that from time to time I go through and consolidate (you know like, on a rainy day when I have nothing to do -- yeah, it doesn't happen often!) But seriously, I read somewhere that if you only have a couple items under a label, think about if they could be added in somewhere else. Or, conversely, if you have a LOT of items under a label, maybe you need to break it down into separate categories somehow. (If you decide to do this, it isn't so overwhelming if you just work on a label a day, rather than tackling the whole project.) Sometimes I begin a label w/ good intentions, and don't end up using it as I thought I would. I admit that as a blog READER, I do enjoy being able to look up posts by subject. It's fun when I'm in a "seasonal" mood especially!
ReplyDeleteI was sorry to miss the note card party this month. I had other stuff going on, and didn't have my act together for a good post. I look forward to rejoining in the future.
Hope you have a lovely evening!
You got some funny responses. I think its good to read your blog later in the game to enjoy the replies! I wish I had a basement! (a real one, we don't have basements in this part of the south.) And I have "basement" lists to work on beyond the blog that were created the week I retired and have not been touched yet in almost a year. Life has been well full. But back to your basement, what are you trying to do? I thought when you made those buttons up top for categories that maybe Blogger did it for you! LOL I guess! Do tell ....
ReplyDeleteIt's a great party, Vee! Yes, autumn all around, and a lovely one at that, although no leaves turning yet!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what my blog basement looks like, I don't have the key.
ReplyDeleteMaybe when I retire I will get into the technical aspects of this bloggy thingy. I would love to do more than my plain little background but I don't have time.
I'm scared of the blog basement. There are spiders there and webs that brush across my face and frustrate me. I prefer staying out entirely. But once in awhile....have fun with that basement, Vee.
ReplyDeleteI know there are a couple of days of summer left, but I'm ready to add some fall touches to my home. It's the in-between time when anything goes! But first I need to go out and water my tomatoes and pick some kale for dinner.
Hi Vee!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid of the blog basement too! No telling what you'll find there!! LOL
But you go ahead and be brave. Let us know what you find...
Blessings, Edie Marie
Freeze warning already!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you'll be busy. My blog needs some sprucing up but I'm waiting until next year. I think that because I'm re-organizing my house & getting for a garage sale, I can't even think about the blog right now. Like Scarlett said "Oh I can't think about this now! I'll go crazy if I do! I'll think about it tomorrow." :)
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteOh, my blog has over a thousand posts with a gazillion photos, I just try to avoid thinking about it. Yes, we're over here cleaning up outside, getting ready for Autumn. Soon the leaves will be falling and creating more work outside. I have been babysitting RJ three times a week and still not finding my way to feeling balanced.
Your blog is always gorgeous to me.
Karen
Just went down to your "basement" and had a chuckle! ;) Some things just take on a life of their own, don't they? Labels are complicated, I think. Too few, and it's hard to find anything. Too many, and you don't have room in your sidebar (or your basement) for anything else. What did we do before blogs?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for hosting the party! For once, I didn't show up late, and it was lots of fun to see comments coming along all the while. I really like the new rules, although I ended up using 3 old and 1 new.
The new back ground for your blog is cool Vee. Yes, managing a blog, sometimes, is more time consuming:) . Happy Fall to you and your loved ones:)
ReplyDeleteOh my, your basement is enough to give a heart attack to this OCD inflicted gal! I guess I have never scrolled down to your basement area, LOL. I decided from the onset that I would use a handful of labels and keep the number down to less than two dozen. It has worked well for me. Visitors can always use the search function on my sidebar if they want to find a more specific topic. Good luck with the cleaning!
ReplyDeleteCan't do more comments right now. DH having trouble with cell phone service & I need to get it fixed pronto...
I am in skitz mode myself... Now I WAS very easily able to find the post I was looking for; however, I can not handle this so am in the process of bringing it into control somewhat like the way I whittled down my Picasa storage from 4o % to 3%... Wish me well.
DeleteCourse, then too, this is an eclectic blog and I discuss a great many things. =/
good luck with both your basements.
ReplyDeletesounds like a lot of work to me.
Sorry I've been AWOL, Vee! So much family stuff going on and lots of babysitting different grandchildren all week. I just can't get online when the days are like that but it's been fun. Now I have a big pile of ironing awaiting for me this week. I used to love to iron but now I find it a chore. As far as basements go, I wish I could clean up my blog "basement" but that task will have to go undone until the distant future I'm afraid. A few posts a week are my speed these days...lol!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the basement cleaning, I cleaned our whole basement before my parents moved in. I'm going to check out the Tea Cup & Mug exchange it sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are a busy bee...I need some of that energy! Well good luck and may you be very productive! We don't have basements here..but Benjamin is wanting one.
ReplyDeleteOh Benjamin...he took in everything from Italy and never once complained!
