Advent Calendar
A wonderful gift of Christmas came to me in the form of an Advent Calendar from Jacquie Lawson and Lorrie of Fabric Paper Thread. Thank you, Lorrie! ♥ What games I have played and arrangements I've made! There are so many things to do that I may never find them all.
Today, I begin caring for my grandsons after school and on vacation days. I think they may quite enjoy hanging out in Chudleigh Manor, too.
And, just because I can, I may be sharing more of the things I have been doing there. I'd not be surprised to know that many of you have also been hanging out in the English countryside. ☺
P.S. Oops, forgot to say that, for those with iPads, there is a free app for a Christmas Village Advent Calendar also from Jacquie Lawson.
It sounds like a lovely place to hang out!
ReplyDeleteI have that also! Such an interesting project that they have made. So lovely! I send it to my grandsons who live far away from us. Last years calendar was more "kid friendly", but this years' is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your grandsons are going to have fun hanging out with you.
ReplyDeleteThe calendar is beautiful and Lorrie is so thoughtful and sweet. Enjoy your day. Can't wait to hear more about the manor! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI've been hanging out at Chudleigh Manor, too. I love going into the library and reading all about Christmas pudding and *ways* Victorian. Fun, fun, fun. Enjoy the grands.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you and your grand kids will have a great time each day ! Lovely picture ! When our boys were younger they would get a Advent calendar from Nana every year and each day had a treat in it , they got so excited every day to see what the treat was . Thanks for sharing . Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteThat was nice of Lorrie to send you the advent calendar, I had a friend send it to me as well. Unfortunately I cannot get it to open on either of my Mac products, yet last year it opened fine. I got hubby to download it and played a bit on his computer.
ReplyDeleteDoes the iPad free app open this same calendar Vee?
Judith
No, the free app is of a Christmas Village and is on a lesser scale...very cute, though. The Chudleigh Manor calendar has rooms where various activities take place...I like the library where one can learn about the various Christmas preparations in Edwardian times.
DeleteIsn't that sweet of Lorrie?! I bet you will have great fun with it! We love having our Jacquie Lawson subscription for sending out e-cards throughout the year. I'll have to check out the iPad app. I didn't know about that!
ReplyDeleteI love her advent calendar and have been playing around with it for days. I must say that you have a much prettier arrangement than what I came up with!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee - Love your blog background! So festive. Nice gift from Lorrie!! You deserve sweet things.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Edie Marie
oh I LOVE an advent calendar...I just no doubt whatsoever that those grandkids are going to love coming to your house ENJOY!
ReplyDeleteI have a membership to Jacquie Lawson, but I haven't checked out the Advent Calendar yet. Have fun with the grands, Vee! xo
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely gift! Have fun hanging out with your grands! I am sure you will have adventures galore!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
A wonderful time of year to step back in time. Have fun in the countryside!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it all seem so Downton Abbey-ish? I love it and am glad you love it, too. Now, I need to figure out how to save something and show it on my blog, too.
ReplyDeleteHope the grandsons have fun playing with Chudleigh and pals.
That is quite a beautiful calendar. Have fun with your grandsons.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful calendar! I will see if I can get the app on my iPad.
ReplyDeleteI am totally stymied to what you are talking about here, but I will look for the ap and then maybe I'll know more.
ReplyDeleteHmm. I wish I knew what you are talking about with the Jacquie Lawson art work. It certainly is pretty. How fun to have your grandsons coming after school. I'm sure they'll enjoy their time with you at Chudleigh Manor. BTW, it's snowing hard here now. Can't see across the road. :)
ReplyDeleteBet you have a grand time with the grandsons visiting you after school. And, excitement will build around your house the closer to Christmas it gets. Have a great week. Hugs, latane
ReplyDeleteHow fun to be with your grands so much. I stayed, every day, with our twin grandgirls and their older sis for 2 years until the oldest was ready for school....some days were fun....some days were....well,.....not all that much fun but all in all, a blessing for us all. I would do it all over again, FOR SURE....great memories.
ReplyDeleteActually, I don't know Jacquie Lawson....
You should have fun watching your grands!!
ReplyDeleteI used to watch two of mine when they were small everyday for a couple of hours between when their Dad had to go to work and Debbi picked them up. We had great times. I sure do miss them!!
I love Jacquie Lawson and her artwork. GREAT advent calendar. Have fun with the kids- I know you will. Your life takes a whole different turn when you have small kids around for part of the day. Enjoy it- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteJacquie Lawson is extremely talented. It will be fun to hear how you spend your time with your grandsons. Is cookie baking on the agenda?
ReplyDeleteI like Jacquie Lawson e-card very much! They are always so magical and have the most beautiful music accompanying them.
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying your after school time with your grandboys, Vee! I look forward to seeing what you do with them.
What a kind gift from Lorrie.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a very beautiful calendar Vee - so you're all sorted for 2014!!!
Shane

DeleteI've never heard of this - so interesting!! I hope you will have a great time hanging out with your grandboys and that they let you take some pictures ;).
ReplyDeleteI will be taking notes on ideas to amuse boys after school...something I will likely greatly need in a few years.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet comments about my Dad!
