Made a liar out of myself again. I finally came to and realized that the New Year arrives the day after tomorrow! I don't want to be sharing Christmas news in 2014 hence the documenting.
~Before and (Nearly) After the Tree~
~John opening a book—always a good way to keep one occupied~
~Her favorite color this year~
~The Grands with Mom and Dad~
~fascinating chit-chat between John, Michelle, and Me while watching the sledders~
~Larger Family Gathering (12) on Friday Evening, December 27~
And fun times were enjoyed by all...I hope. (My son is wearing an interesting expression in that parting shot.)
The cheese ball was delicious! (Even if it is shaped like an octopus — I ate octopus once. Never again. Now cheese balls are another story! My nieces made it...those two could keep Pinterest humming right along.)
Thanks for stopping by. I have yet to make it around to everyone. It's my goal!
It looks like a grand time was had by all during your Christmas festivities. Loved hearing your voices...Have a happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you popped in to document your family Christmas celebrations. It looks and sounds like a wonderful time was had by all. Your little sledders had me on the edge of my seat as they headed for the tree. I'm sure they were in control all along.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family health and happiness in the new year.
looks and sounds just wonderful. I will confess I DID wonder about that cheese ball that looked like an octopus, lol.. Your grands went sledding and mine could have gone swimming at the beach, haha.. I know mine would have changed places with yours in a heart beat! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteYou had such a wonderful family Christmas. Love all of the brightly wrapped presents and happy faces! And an octopus cheese ball, too? Life is good! Happy New Year my friend!
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas sounds wonderful. I enjoyed all of the pictures!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful Christmas Vee! Your decorated tree is beautiful and I think the Octupus Cheese is very creative indeed!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh ... what fun! I love seeing the family bedlam of the Christmas morning rip and tear! It's the same, I suspect, for most families. As for that octopus cheese platter ... so clever! Bet the boys loved it! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures, looks like a warm cozy time filled with family and love. Thanks for explaining the octopus, I was wondering about that. Happy New Year. No worries about visiting everyone. I think I'm still recovering from Christmas. It's 10:45 a.m. and I just got up from a nap. Pitiful! ~ Abby
ReplyDeleteLoved your pictures! Thank you for sharing. Sure made me smile. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI love seeing family Christmases! Yours looked wonderful. That cheese ball is amazing! Talented girls!

Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas, Vee. Loved seeing your photos of your sweet family time. Also I can see they were well fed, too! I don't know about you, but I'm still worn out from all the preparations and celebrations. Wishing you and John and all your family the very best in the coming New Year!
ReplyDeleteBy appearances you had a busy and happy Christmas, some out door activity as well. Your tree is pretty and your whole house looks so warm and cozy. I heard today more snow is headed up your way. Are you keeping your tree up for awhile?
ReplyDeleteLoved the glimpses of Christmas around your place. The video was great - you have a wonderful mellow laugh.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy these last couple of days of 2013!
should've been a fun filled gathering :). Good to see your family as we'll :) Thanks for documenting :)
ReplyDeleteThat octopus cheese ball is great. Looks like people enjoyed it, too. Now I'm hungry for some good spiral ham...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good family gathering. I would have enjoyed looking out the window to see other people enjoying the snow. I would stay in the cozy house to enjoy that...
per the news...Looks like things are really cold in your neck of the woods today...brrr.
A fun time was had by all...indeed! Good food and good fun all around. I enjoyed the video clip...and hearing your voice and laughter once again. :) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteIt looked like a very happy Christmas at your house, Vee! I thought for a minute that you adopted the Italian custom of eating fish when I saw that octopus--lol! Before I met my husband the thought of eating octopus or calamari or salt cod was foreign to me--now I love to eat all three! I could not find octopus in Colorado but after searching high and klow I did manage ti find the calamri and salt cod. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the video and your voice.
Have a very happy and healthy 2014!
Looks like fun times and happy memories, Vee! No for me on eating octopus, but in cheese ball form, an absolute yes! Happy New Year blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures - looks like a fun time at your house.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried octopus and have no desire to, but I do like cheese balls. : )
Looks like you all had a wonderful time, Vee! It's gone so fast. Glad you were able to document it. Wishing you and yours Happy New Year! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo glad that your Christmas was wonderful. I thought that was an octopus - loved the sword!!! I eat calimari all the time, but I guess that's squid not octopus:)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Leann
It looks like you had a great Christmas Vee. Lots of family and food and fellowship. The best kind! Hard to believe it's all over now. I'm itching to take down the tree and trimmings but will wait until Wednesday or Thursday or the next snowstorm that will keep me inside. Did you hear there is another one coming later this week???? I don't know where we'll put it all. Happy New Year dear Vee and to your family. May it be blessed! Hugs, Pam
ReplyDeleteYes! It's the brutal temperatures that have me worried.
DeleteGlad you had fun with family........and that the kids didn't run into the tree!
ReplyDeleteI'll leave my things up a bit longer but will have my tree out on Friday for the city pick up.
Happy New Year to you all!
