A Happy Day!

~My Daughter-in-law's Tulips~

The standing joke of yesterday was that I would rather take photos of tulips, clouds, trees, and anything rather than a little boy who was in perpetual motion. Tulips don't waggle their fingers in their ears. Oh we laughed about that every time.

~Wiggle Worm~

The grand, fresh from the doctor just the day before, had been given the okay to do whatever he felt he was up to. Did he feel like running?

Oh yes!

Quiet pursuits were mixed in, too. He chalked a heart-shaped rock and presented it to me declaring it his finest work.

I will cherish it.

Let's just say that he was indefatigable and led us through a merry day of hopscotch, soccer, hide n'seek, monkey in the middle, chalk drawings, a picnic, and supper with his brother now in tow. I had long since set the camera aside! A happy day...the one he had long waited for...love how that boy talks!

I'll be limping about a bit today. I may have to hire him for a personal trainer!

  1. Oh just precious...well I can so relate and I cherish each of these moments. When Ben got off his brace and could walk without it..what joy!

Yes those wiggle worms are hard to catch with the camera...you caught him

  2. He's a cutie. Nothing like following a child around and seeing the world as he does. What's fun is to take a two or three year old for a walk and photograph every single thing picked, examined thoroughly, and talked about.

  8. Oh.my.goodness. So precious!

I may be in that kind of pain tomorrow. I'm spending the day with five active children so their mama can be with her dying father. Prayers for my friend Brigette are appreciated. She is so sweet and has been through so much lately.

  9. Just looking at his smile makes me smile. He looks so happy.

How does he feel about his bicycle now? Going to wait a while or is he looking forward to wheels again?

The tulips are beautiful. Nothing says spring like blooming tulips and jonquils.

  10. -happy sigh- He's on his feet again!!! Oh how wonderful that must have felt!

Now, how lucky do we feel, every time we plant our feet and get up and move about??????

    We don't.

Or we just complain about the aches and pains we feel, when so doing.

But, we should take a lesson from your Dear Little One. Take JOY, in all the everyday things, we can do. :-)

  11. What a handsome boy. Does he take after you in the looks department? Glad he is able to do whatever he wants.

  12. And oh yes! They MOVE!!!!!!!! Constantly... I had to ask Gabe to stand still, so I could take a quick pic of him, in his helmet.

Now, if my camera could capture motion better.... ,-) OR if I'd read up on settings, to maybe help my camera to handle motion...

Nahhh, I'll just stick to asking; "Please stop a minute." :-)

  13. There is nothing as wonderful as a child being able to run! Happy Spring to him! I hope your limp is short lived!!

  15. I'm smiling...at having him as your personal trainer. I never feel much like going to my fitness class after a day with the grands. Which reminds me...it starts in half an hour!

Good to know he has the OK to run and spin and jump...as he pleases!

I can just imagine your day running all around after Mr. Wiggle Worm. Man they can wear you out lol. I do appreciate your attempt at capturing the day!

What a cutie . . . his eyes are so beautiful! I can see that he gave you a run for your money today - and that special gift that kids love to give grandma's . . . rocks! We have a cupboard full and I cherish them all! What precious memories he will have of his gram!

  21. It's a total cliche, but also totally true, that everyone who is older wishes they could just have the incredible energy of little boys...I was at my daughter's yesterday and found myself overwhelmed at times. But so happy. I imagine you felt something similar!

  22. So pleased to read he is full steam ahead again!

  25. So you did have a "grand" day (albeit tiring ~smile~)! I am so happy to hear that your grand is up and about in a grand sort of way. Looks like he is making up for lost time! And your heart art...soooooo sweet. I am sure that you will treasure it. Don't those kinds of gifts just melt a grandmother's heart?

I am thanking the Lord with you for a speedy (although probably not "speedy" to him) and complete recovery for Sam!

  30. What a precious, precious, young man, and that sweet face, so adorable. Vee, And the gift, "priceless", you know I am sitting here crying tears of joy tonight. Grandchildren are one of the most precious gifts from our heavenly Father. I am so thankful for the times we had with ours while they were growing up, and for the memories captured through a lens, and etched in our hearts, and minds forever.
    Enjoy your weekend!
    I truly treasure you.
    Hugs,
    Sue

  34. I have some wiggle worms as well (grands) and I'm always chasing them with a camera, longing for that perfect shot where they wrap their arms around each other and look straight at the camera with little angelic faces. Hasn't happened yet and I've been trying for two years. Gotta love those candid shots though. They're the best. ~ Abby

  35. Those tulips look so pretty still! Mine are all dried up and blown away already. They don't have a standing chance (haha) with all the wind we have out in the country. I'm glad you had a fun day with your little guy, and that he's made a complete recovery. :)

  36. So glad to see that little guy up and running again! Thank the Lord for His healing and for the loving care he had all these months. Your yard looks wonderful!
