One thing one learns very quickly is that time does not stop no matter what. Life goes on, meals must still be made and chores accomplished. No one gets to sit and think for long. Plans are made or hatched as the case may be and we are still in the planning/hatching phase.
Work on the jelly cupboard is ongoing. The color has been selected. Some of you may not be surprised since I've visited and spilled already. I could give you a hint or I could bowl you over. I'll ponder that. In the meantime, here's the progress thus far.
The big reveal at The Inspired Room doesn't happen until May 14. Can I possibly-ossibly wait that long?
The little basket lamp is also getting a makeover. I am so tired of this little lamp, but it's the only little lamp I have right now. Apparently, from the looks of that lean, it's tired of me, too.
And, in the spirit of "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may" my forsythia bouquet grows larger daily. I can't let all those bells lie on the ground beaten down by the rain.
Oh here's the tip...the color hint can be found somewhere on this great blog. (Thanks for the tip, Stick Horse Cowgirls!)
I love the "peeks" and your walls? Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCute little basket lamp! Can't wait to see the finished room!
ReplyDeleteLife certainly goes on doesn't it? "Time and tide wait for no man"...or woman, and I guess that is how it should be.
ReplyDeleteI love that cabinet and I can't wait to see how it turns out. Cute lamp too -- I see it painted a robin's egg blue, with a shade that has birds on it....am I close?
The jelly cupboard is coming along nicely and I like the lamp shade - I have a similar one.
ReplyDeleteI can wait! I can wait! I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteLOL...I have a lamp that "leans" too...it belonged to James' Grandmother. I have taken it apart and put it back together again twice but it still leans...and he wouldn't part with it for the world. It's kinda like a picture on the wall that you constantly straighten as you walk by.

Robin
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy my visit here,I really like your new header. I am really curious now as to what color the jelly cabinet is going to be, and have been looking over your blog to try and guess, I have two colors in mind but I guess I will have to wait and see.
Thank you for sharing not only your home but your wit as well.
Blessings,
Sue
Hmmm......I have a guess...but I hate to be wrong.....I'll have to wait and see. Although, I like Pat's suggestion. A side note--when I was growing up in RI, my sisters and I called that sweet yellow flower "for-cynthia", thinking it bloomed just for our baby sister. ~Kathy
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the transformation Vee!!! I know they'll both be just beautiful ~ I hope you're doing great sweet friend, xxoo, Dawn
ReplyDeleteGood for you, so much more motivated than I...like I said, I would have thrown some linens over it! Can't wait to see what you do with the lamp!
ReplyDeleteWell...I have a pretty good guess...but we'll just have to wait and see. Now you have us all wondering.
ReplyDeleteAll your projects look inspiring! Can't wait to see the jelly cupboard. And those forsythia - swoon! They do not grow well here. Our trees have barely just broken bud too...
ReplyDeleteOooh this is fun.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it completed.
I racking my tired brain for the possibly-ossibly reference. It is so close to coming to me...really!
Could it be from The Wind in the Willows?
Becky
No, I remember...Charlotte's Web!
ReplyDeleteSorry...that was really bugging me.
The jelly cupboard is lovely. I just love your home, and your new header too.

You are making better progress than I as we approach the deadline- doesn't help that I am away from home!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the reveal! I'm sure you can help your leaning lamp :)
ReplyDeleteYour projects are all looking beautiful! I look forward to seeing the little lamp when it's all done --- and the jelly cupboard --- and there's that delightful window frame with teacups again. Lovely!

Hi Vee! I cannot wait for the big reveal. In fact, I cannot wait for my own big reveal. If I can pull this project off during these two weeks (um, ok, we only have one week left), ANYONE can. :-)
