Forgetful and How

Though I'd really rather be sipping lemonade and spending the morning in the garden with you all, I've forgotten something really important...Mother's Day. Seems I've become so involved in other projects that I forgot the priority one. Eeekkk... So I'll be in the sewing room today. Wish me well...

Oh, one last thing because so many of you have lilacs blooming. Have you seen *this fun way* of creating a centerpiece using lilacs? You can see my interpretation with some azaleas in my footer. (Sorry! I know I promised I'd not mention azaleas again, but I lied.)

A happy weekend to all!

  5. Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day. Anxious to see what you are sewing. My mom loves pink, so I sent a box filled with pink ribbon, pink lace, pink brads and many other items pink.

  6. Love the way you did your Header!!! You are just toooooo clever, Hon! :-)

And oh dear, you have lots of Mother's Day stuff to do, hu? Years ago, I got on the feminist kick of "Roses For Mother's Day." Which really was a put-down of all the Mother's Day hoopla. The idea was, "Don't give me roses on M.D.! Be nice to me all the days of the year. ONE day's stuff, doesn't cut it."

Well, guess what? They listened to me! LOL. So Mother's Day is not a big {or even a little} deal, for me.

Yeah, I can hear you! Chuckling and thinking... "See what happens when you open your big mouth?!?" -giggles-

Anyway, Happy Mother's Day to you! And since you love to sew, you'll even enjoy the preparations.

    Gentle hugs,
    'Aunt Amelia'
    Dear you,~

  10. I didn't think of Mother's Day until this morning. Since we're having dinner at home this year (although Hubby is doing clean up duty), I had to stop by the grocery store and shop the pantry!

    Happy Mother's Day!

  14. I love your interpretation with azaleas! Enjoying the lilacs here in PA! That was one thing I missed from our old home and we timed this visit just right so I could enjoy my daughter in law's lilacs. Happy Mother's Day!

  18. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY VEE! Hope you finished your gift in time.

I actually have my first two stalks of Lilacs this year --I have to grow everything in flower pots as I have no soil in my yard, so I took a chance last year and bought a really big one and planted some lilac plants. They grew, but didn't bloom and I thought I lost them because mid summer their leaves fell off due to powdery mildew -- it was such a humid summer.
I was thrilled to see them greening up again this spring and when I was in Colorado they bloomed! It was so good to smell them! I don't have the heart to cut them this year ..maybe if I get more next spring.

  22. I for one love your azaleas. In fact, do you know the name of the lavender one? We are "azalea freaks" so I would like to add that one to our collection. Hope you had a great Mother's Day.

  23. Thanks for the link to the floral arrangement with the bottom bowl idea. Just loved it. I am sure I will be giving that a try.

I enjoy your azaleas they are so beautiful. I have never been able to grow them or a rody for that matter. Not enough acidity in our soil. So don’t worry about over doing it here.
