Forgetful and How
Though I'd really rather be sipping lemonade and spending the morning in the garden with you all, I've forgotten something really important...Mother's Day. Seems I've become so involved in other projects that I forgot the priority one. Eeekkk... So I'll be in the sewing room today. Wish me well...
Oh, one last thing because so many of you have lilacs blooming. Have you seen *this fun way* of creating a centerpiece using lilacs? You can see my interpretation with some azaleas in my footer. (Sorry! I know I promised I'd not mention azaleas again, but I lied.)
A happy weekend to all!

ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteHave fun in your sewing room. :-)
ReplyDeleteI had flowers delivered to my mom in PA.
Happy Mother's Day to you!
Vee,
ReplyDeleteMy daughter saved my skin, I too forgot about Mother's Day! I cheated, had her hop online and order flowers yesterday. Happy sewing!
Happy Mother's Day sweet lady! I love your new header!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cathie
Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day. Anxious to see what you are sewing. My mom loves pink, so I sent a box filled with pink ribbon, pink lace, pink brads and many other items pink.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you did your Header!!! You are just toooooo clever, Hon! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd oh dear, you have lots of Mother's Day stuff to do, hu? Years ago, I got on the feminist kick of "Roses For Mother's Day." Which really was a put-down of all the Mother's Day hoopla. The idea was, "Don't give me roses on M.D.! Be nice to me all the days of the year. ONE day's stuff, doesn't cut it."
Well, guess what? They listened to me! LOL. So Mother's Day is not a big {or even a little} deal, for me.
Yeah, I can hear you! Chuckling and thinking... "See what happens when you open your big mouth?!?" -giggles-
Anyway, Happy Mother's Day to you! And since you love to sew, you'll even enjoy the preparations.
Gentle hugs,
'Aunt Amelia'
Dear you,~

I just finished sewing my Mom's gift yesterday - I posted a picture of it on my blog, and yes you were right Vee, it is a tea cozy!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful Mother's Day!
I want to wish you and your precious Mom a very happy Mother's Day...m.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend! Love the link! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think of Mother's Day until this morning. Since we're having dinner at home this year (although Hubby is doing clean up duty), I had to stop by the grocery store and shop the pantry!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
Vee, happy sewing!
ReplyDeleteOur lilacs are just little one inch buds right now, but I hope to have a centerpiece in a few weeks. ; )
Happy mother's day and do show us what you sewed!
xo Terri
Hi Vee, Your azaleas are amazing and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful Mother's Day and don't work too hard on your projects! It is 9 PM Sat. night here and I am still putting finishing touches on mine! LOL! Hope my paint dries before tomorrow morning! :) ~hugs, Rhonda
I'm just on my way over to the farmyard to clip lilacs...so it was a most timely suggestion. Your azaleas (footer) look lovely...mention them again...anytime!
ReplyDeleteI love your interpretation with azaleas! Enjoying the lilacs here in PA! That was one thing I missed from our old home and we timed this visit just right so I could enjoy my daughter in law's lilacs. Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,
ReplyDeletejust wanted to stop by to wish you a very blessed and Happy Mother's Day.
Blessings,
Sue
That is a beautiful lilac arrangement!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Mother's Day!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY VEE! Hope you finished your gift in time.
ReplyDeleteI actually have my first two stalks of Lilacs this year --I have to grow everything in flower pots as I have no soil in my yard, so I took a chance last year and bought a really big one and planted some lilac plants. They grew, but didn't bloom and I thought I lost them because mid summer their leaves fell off due to powdery mildew -- it was such a humid summer.
I was thrilled to see them greening up again this spring and when I was in Colorado they bloomed! It was so good to smell them! I don't have the heart to cut them this year ..maybe if I get more next spring.
Happy Mother's Day Vee. I hope you are having a wonderful day ♥
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day blessings,
ReplyDeletekari & kijsa
Hope you had a happy Mothers Day Vee! I love lilacs. Mine for some reason, decided not to bloom this year!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
I for one love your azaleas. In fact, do you know the name of the lavender one? We are "azalea freaks" so I would like to add that one to our collection. Hope you had a great Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to the floral arrangement with the bottom bowl idea. Just loved it. I am sure I will be giving that a try.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your azaleas they are so beautiful. I have never been able to grow them or a rody for that matter. Not enough acidity in our soil. So don’t worry about over doing it here.
