Welcome! It surely has been hot in my corner. How's it been in yours?
We love to enjoy ice cream sodas on the deck and I've been tiring of the root beer variety. You may note that we use "diet" soda. Yes, because we've got to do something to cancel out all those ice cream calories. Otherwise, we'll be prime candidates for this unfortunate Ice Cream Shop name.
Enjoy your cyber tour, and I do hope that you have an ice cream soda in hand!
Thanks to Suzy at Kitchen Bouquet for hosting this year's Ice Cream Social. ♥
We were just talking about Orange Floats last weekend as we baked at the yard sale. Now we actually have to make some!!!
ReplyDeleteNo diet drinks for us, though. Sorry, just can't take the aftertaste. We'll just be "Tubby".
Becky K.
-giggles- The first thing I noticed, was the "Diet"! But you have to admit, that you had it front and center! ,-)
ReplyDeleteSame here Becky K., we can't "do" diet soda, etc. Husband got reaction from sugar substitute and that did it, for us. Plus the after taste...
It's been very hot here too, but I like it a whole lot better than snow.
ReplyDeleteI always use diet soda with my ice cream sodas too!!
I won't be joining the social but I'll go take a look.
I love orange floats...I'll be right there!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry....... orange what? Ice cream, what's that??? I'm blinded by the words...
ReplyDeleteLOBSTER ROLL
Omigosh, I'm going to die now because I'm probably 1,000 miles from a good lobster roll.
Suzanne
Those look delish Vee! I haven't thought to do ice cream sodas, just had me a big ol' bowl! But, will definitely be doing some Orange Floats for sure!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had an orange float in years! We used to us Orange Crush...I wonder if they even make that anymore.
ReplyDeleteYours looks delish!
Boy that looks refreshing! I do the diet coke float at Sams or Costco, so I know about canceling out those calories. Thank you so much for joining me for my Ice Cream Social. I know you have a lot going on. Tubby's is hysterical and that's just the way I feel after making ice cream all week!
ReplyDeleteThat does look mighty refreshing -
ReplyDeleteeven with the diet soda!
Loved the name of the ice cream shop - Tubby's! You'll have to tell us sometime about the Lobster Roll...another YUM!!
Oh this looks so good! This whole party is just gonna be trouble:@)
ReplyDeleteVee, I laughed out loud when I read that you used diet soda so that you don't have to share characteristics of the unfortunately named ice cream shoppe! The orange ice cream soda looks very frosty, cold and delicious! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Beth
It looks good! You could use vanilla frozen yogurt 1/2 cup is 100 calories to lighten it up a bit more.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, that orange float looks so refreshing! What an appropriate name for an ice cream shop :) I'd love to try one of those lobster rolls too!
ReplyDeleteYour photo of the Orange float was just scrumptious looking. It is so hot here and that would really hit the spot right now. I just can't decide which ice cream treat to try for tomorrow, maybe we'll have to do more than one.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that would taste soooo good right now!
ReplyDeleteYUM!
ReplyDeleteThat is one super looking ice cream float! Have to try orange! We love coke floats and root beer, orange has to be great!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I don't think I've ever had an orange float! Sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteOk, fabulous. I haven't had an orange float this summer yet. I will be doing this soon. Thanks for posting about this, I have met some new blogger friends!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee!
ReplyDeleteOh that looks so refreshing and cooling! It's been in the upper 90's in Ohio and I could go for that right now. Love that sign for Tubby's!! I think I've been there too often!!
Your wooden mail caddy makeover is incredible! Thanks for the great idea!! Hugs, Sherry
How wonderfully refreshing!!! I sure could go for one of those about now, Vee!
ReplyDeleteBlessings.
Those look cool and frosty! It's been sooo hot and humid here. At least we've finally gotten some rain. I personally can't wait for fall to come around. I really don't like hot weather - it just makes me feel like doing nothing!
ReplyDeleteManuela
i enjoyed your orange cream
ReplyDeletesoda, in my mind.
i also loved your sunday post.
i'm the only one up so far.
spending a weekend with my
married daughter, who attends
church in the afternoon.
how brilliant for young folks
to find a church that lets
them sleep in!
"be sweet" and i will try to
"be a blessing." :)
We have a place here on Long Island called the Lobster Roll. Love the ice cream shop! I'll have my float with diet cream soda please...:)
ReplyDeleteYour ice cream floats look so good Vee! They are a liquid creamsicle :-)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help see that lobster rolls are sold at Tubby's ...yum!
That looks so refreshing! That really IS an unfortunate name for ice cream! laurie
ReplyDeleteI thought about making Root Beer Floats. These look delicious.
ReplyDeleteWe always have a root beer float after hiking, so perhaps I'll make the next one an orange one. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI love a good float too - your orange version sounds fun - kind of like a creamsicle. When I was young my favorite was one made with shasta black cherry soda - your orange version was my sister's favorite so this post reminded me of those fun memories.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Looks cool and refreshing...a great twist on root beer and coke floats.
ReplyDeleteJane (artfully graced)
Ok, just plain mean to name an ice cream shop Tubbies. Like that is going to discourage me. Love the orange float!
ReplyDeleteAll very cool looking. Extremely hot here today, 90 was forecast.Still hot and heavy now at 11.0 pm. Nice mosaic.
ReplyDeleteDid not change my 'about me' just a current photo.
Your new header woke me up having just got home from dinner with friends. Thanks for love and prayers Vee, much appreciated.
I've never had an orange float but it looks delicous. Love the Tubby's sign!
ReplyDeleteMy kids love ice cream sodas made with orange pop...Okay, they love them made with any kind of pop, but I have a thing for the orange kind. They taste so much like creamsicles, another of my favorite cold treats.
